Very well. He was on time and had another plumber with him, probably a new employee. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The owner Gary Shaner has been my plumber for a few years now.
Description of Work: Replaced my garbage disposal and my kitchen sink fixtures. This price included the garbage disposal itself plus the installation of it and the installation of the sink fixtures.

Gary Shaner and his partner, Baldemar (Balt) Gonzales started off well but then but did not complete the work they contracted for. I never met Gary and Balt is the plumber who does all the work. In fact, Gary never returned the few phone calls I made into him. All of my dealings were with Balt which should be a scary thing for Gary since this Balt lack of ethics also reflects on Gary. Blat continually asked for more money from his draw even though he wasn't finished. Some of his work wasn't passed by the City Inspector and he refused to fix problems found without getting more money. Balt began working on my house at the end of July. He estimated that it would take about 3 1/2 weeks to finish the entire job. During this time, I had to fire his assistant who just happened to be his son because he was spitting on my floor. I allowed him to use my foreman as an assistant to help him complete the job and I was paying the foreman out of my own pocket to act as his assistant. Unfortunately, he then began expecting my foreman to do work all by himself without supervision from the plumber. He started expecting this after he started not showing up for work. He began to not show up for work or showing up and leaving because his girlfriend got a job. He had to take her to work during the day and would drop everything at my house to do this. It took weeks to get him to put in the gas line and to finish additional projects that were part of the bid. Balt never completed the following jobs that were part of the original bid such as: adding drain for washing machine, turning gas connection for dryer so doesn't interfere with air vent, extending PVC pipe that connects hot water heater to drain so that overflow pan sits on top of water heater platform in attic (currently, it is half on/half off of platform), adding water line for ice maker. In addition, the City of San Antonio Inspector found additional problems with some of the work Balt did. These problems have been outlined and communicated to him such as increasing the size of the main water PVC pipe from the city connection all the into the house up into the attic. He also needs to correct his design of the plumbing he put together for two upstairs bathrooms and level a pipe that inspector said would cause problems due to backflow. On December 4th, 2009, Balt was supposed to meet my foreman to discuss fixing the problems identified by the city inspector. He never showed up for this meeting. I called him that afternoon and told him that if he didn't call my foreman and reschedule to both come and meet with him and to fix the problems by that next week, I was going to report him to the Better Business Bureau. On December 7th 2009, he came to the house to discuss fixing these problems. During this meeting, he told my foreman that before he would fix anything, he would need to get more money from me. More money to fix plumbing problems he caused that were not passed by the city inspector and more money to finish the work that had been part of the original bid. I will not pay for any additional expenses that need to be corrected which he caused and I refuse to pay him the last of his draw for work not completed on the original bid. It's important to note that he brought his girlfriend to this meeting. He also asked my electrical contractor if I had paid him any of his draw requests. My electrical contractor told him it was none of his business. The plumber then told the electrical contractor that he should walk off the job because we were running out of money and wouldn't be able to pay him. He then told my foreman that if I didn't give him more money so that he could buy additional supplies to fix all of these problems, that he wouldn't do the job and that I could take him to court. He forced me to take the step of reportiing him and his company (Plumb-Tech) and owner of his company to the Better Business Bureau but nothing was resolved because they never responded to the BBB complaint.
Description of Work: Gary Shaner and Baldemar Gonzalez (Balt also uses another name when doing side jobs - Royal Flush) were contracted to put in a completely new plumbing and gas system for a historical house my husband and I are renovating. All new PVC piping was run throughout the house for 4 1/2 baths, 2 kithchen sinks, dish washer, ice making machine, water softener, 2 water outside water hoses, and gas lines for a stove and dryer. A new water line that connects the city water supply to the house was also installed.
