Description of Work: We would recommend and use them again. The whole experience was easy and completed on schedule. The hard part was deciding the final carpet because of the large selection. A big Thank You to Monica Mills and the installers for their expertise and professionalism.

 + -1 moreI was going to live with the wrong color tile and they were going to replace the unlevel tile and paint the grout. Rick, the supervisor taped tile to be replaced. I realized it was over half the job, so I then wanted total replacement of job. I asked Rick to please send most qualified tile installers on February 28th 2008 because of the first install was so poorly done. I again had to call to be sure they were coming on February 28th. The installers removed old tile in bathroom and reinstalled then grouted. The grout again was washed out in color which is suppose to be beige in color. They removed old tile in dining and put lots of holes in foundation. After complaining again, they now have new installers here and promise to do job properly. I spoke to owner of business who was not friendly or reassuring. I have no faith in this company and would never recommend work by this company
Description of Work: I scheduled my installation for dec 18th of 2007. No one supervised the job. I had to call on Dec 18th at 10 am and ask when the installers were going to show up. They then called back at 1 pm and stated their installers did not show up today, and that they found someone who could lay tile on tuesday december 19th. On december 19 2007 the installers showed up and began to remove old flooring then install tile. I questioned them on tile and asked if it was the tile I had picked from the store. They could not speak english and continued to lay the tile. The next day they came and and installed the grout. They also left front door open which in turn banged into the wall and put a big hole. This hole remains in the wall, and has not been fixed. When the grout dried it was all discolored and washed out. I called Rick, the person in charge of installation and explained the grout is all washed out and they installed the wrong tile. They assured me the job would be fixed to my satisfaction.

I had chosen about 20 different samples, and Janet Dinkins helped me edit my selection based on how I actually live -- not on what was most expensive. The crew was finished in three days, despite the numerous challenges the house layout posed. They were unfailingly polite throughout, and they left my house spotless.
Description of Work: I replaced all the linoleum and carpet in my 1960s 2000-square-foot house. The 20-year-old carpet was pulled up, and the hardwood floors were floated over the original linoleum, due to asbestos issues. The hardwood floor was laid to match the flow of the rooms, which varied, due to additions and remodeling. They laid the floor around the fireplace and even around built-in cabinets that had been put in over the old carpet.

 + -1 moreTwo installers showed up on Saturday as promised and took 6 hours to install the hardwood floor in two bedrooms. They were very professional and courteous. The only break they took was about 15 minutes about three quarters of the way done.
Description of Work: Installed hard wood floor purchased from same company. We cleared both rooms so all they had to do was come in and cut and glue the new floor to the subfloor.

 + -1 moreThe reason that we purchased the tile (at top dollar) from OKrent's was that we thought they would be responsible for supervising the installation. They were not, and never came out to see if the work was done okay. We had to have the installers do things over, which they never would have done if we had not called them on it. This was NOT what we expected from such a large & old company. More importantly, they did not inform us that we would be responsible for the quality of the work done. They intimated that they would see that it was done correctly. However, WE had to be the supervisors of the quality of the workmanship. But, if we had not known a little bit about it, the installers would have done a poor job, and we would have been stuck with it. When we complained in person, in writing, and to the BBB, we have (after 6 mos.) NEVER heard from OKrent's. All in all, it was the MOST disappointing experience we have had in 40 years of having work done.
Description of Work: removed old carpet. Installed new ceramic tile (20''). in closet and one room approximately 13' x 14'.

The crew was very polite and they did move furniture for me which was quite helpful. I was very impressed by their willingness to work with me. In the spring I hired them again to replace my downstairs carpets and the work was top quality again with no callbacks needed. I really trust this company and will continue to use their services whenever I need new flooring.
Description of Work: In the spring, we had O'Krent Flooring Covering Corp out to replace the carpet in three downstairs rooms. The men removed the old carpet, disposed of it and laid the new carpeting to perfection.

They didn't call us back when we called them. They put holes in our base boards and tried to say they were not responsible. Finally, they agreed to fix them, but it took forever.
