1. Products were great. 2. Sales were great. 3. Wood Floor install looks fine 4. Carpet installation was terrible, and they had to redo one complete room. The joints show and there is fraying around the edges. Stairs have carpet fibers sticking out everywhere. I have been involved in construction for 50 years and seen thousands of yards of carpet installed. In my opinion O'Krent hires whoever is the cheapest, and then doesn't follow up. I have left emails & messages, but no response. I think there are Carpet Companies who handle the same products in the area, but do a better job.

If you are looking for a carpet retailer, who has access to multiple carpet manufacturer products, and is a stickler when it comes to matching your choices and quality control??? This is the place. We placed an order for a specific carpet, according to sample boards, and twice the warehouse shipment to O’Krent did not meet the board sample. O’Krent noted the discrepancy, notified us, and after the second order came in again, a mismatch, we ordered another carpet. This carpet arrived, met their approval in being a match for our choice, but again, checked with us prior to delivery. Then a crew was promptly scheduled. The installation crew of 3 very professional gentlemen could not have been nicer, neater, or faster. They were polite and made a significant effort to keep everything clean and leave a carpet perfectly in place. We would absolutely choose O’Krent again!

I have to say that dealing with Jason O'krent was wonderful! I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about him. We did have an issue on the kitchen floors that I felt weren't installed correctly and after talking with Jason and showing him the problem, he had someone here immediately to correct the issue. THAT was the first incident that proved they were honest about the installation having a lifetime warranty. He will move mountains to make sure you are a happy customer! Next was when we had a water leak and needed to replace carpet and pad. Thankfully, we had enough spare carpet, but no padding. I called Jason, so that I could buy the same pad as the rest of the room and he had me measure the area, had the warehouse cut the exact pad the next morning, AND when I went to pick it up - - he gave it to me at NO CHARGE!! You can believe, the "big box" stores would NEVER do that!! Please, call him for your flooring needs. They've been in business for over 100 years in San Antonio and it's SERVICE above all... but also check their prices. You're going to get much better grade flooring that you cannot get at the "big boxes" AND the price is comperable.... what a great surprise for me! Please, check out O'krent and give Jason a call, you'll be a happy customer with awesome people to WITH and beautiful floors!! Don't tell him I told you - - but in my book, he's a PRINCE!

I had a terrible experience with this company. The tile installer came late (10:15-10:30 am) every day, sometimes left midday for long periods of time, and one day didn't come until 2:30 pm. And when he did get there, he rushed through the work and thus didn't complete some of it correctly. One area of the kitchen had to be torn up and redone (by another installer) because of the first installer's off-centered work. Numerous requests to my salesperson (I sent her many texts daily enumerating the installer's poor work ethic, rushed work, my requests for another installer, etc.), to the scheduler, and to Mr. O'Krent himself did not help. My needs did not seem to be given top priority (their response to my concerns was that there is no one else available, "we can't do that," "let's wait another week," etc.), even though I had spent upwards of $10,000 for carpet and tile. The problems with the first tile installer, particularly his inability to get the work done in a professional, high quality, and timely manner - especially in light of the amount of money I spent at O'Krent's for new flooring - are my reasons to rate this company very low. To them, I, the customer, did not seem to "come first," and I was forced into their timetable and scheduling without any flexibility to accommodate my needs or to offer me a partial refund for the inconvenience and dissatisfaction with the work. I would not recommend them to anyone, and I will certainly never use them again.

"Being San Antonio's oldest and most respected floor covering retailer for 104 years we take all of our customers concerns, posts and reviews very seriously. We analyze each as an opportunity to improve. We also understand that when a customer takes the time to post a negative review and share their experience we have let them down by not meeting their expectations, so let me begin by saying thank you for sharing your thoughts. I apologize for not giving you the experience you expected. In reviewing the details surrounding your installation, including my personal phone call with you, we have a very different opinion of the details you discussed in your review. It appears that your primary concern has to do with the timing issues of the installation. When we originally scheduled the project with you, you had agreed to complete the project in two phases: first, the kitchen floor which would take three days; and secondly, the fireplace which would require an additional 2 days at a later date. As it turned out, despite the supposed delays that you mentioned, fortunately all of the materials were available and we were able to complete both areas in 5 days. In regard to the "re-do" of your kitchen floor, the project called for a mosaic tile "rug" pattern in the middle of your kitchen. Originally, the "rug" location was determined by you and our installer moving the pattern around a number of times prior to you agreeing on the exact location. Evidently this was not an easy decision due to the narrow width of your kitchen with none of your appliances being flush with cabinets/walls/toe kicks which would cause an "unbalanced" appearance in some areas of your kitchen. After installation, you requested that we move the installed rug tile over by 1/2". Please understand the difficulties of removing/destroying and replacing tile for a 1/2". The mosaic pieces themselves are 2" and the field tiles are much wider. Despite such difficulties and costs in making this change we agreed to complete this for you, at no charge, but it would require 2 more days of installation. Our Director of Operations, who was on-site with you, told me of your request to have us start the demolition on a Friday and complete the project on Monday. When she informed me of your scheduling plan, I called you personally to discuss my concern for you living in a torn up kitchen over the weekend. My concern was strictly for your safety as the kitchen would have tripping hazards for an extended period of time. Upon your insistence we proceeded with the project and completed the job on Monday. The final results of the project are a beautiful kitchen floor and fireplace backed by our Lifetime Labor Warranty. Once again, we apologize for not meeting all of your expectations. This is our second project with O'Krents. We visited several times with Kelly at the store learning about hard wood floors and taking samples home. Kelly was patient with our long selection and questions process. They have a very large selection. She came to the house to measure and plan the installation. We ordered the flooring on 2/5/18 and installation started on 2/21/18. We previously had a clean air removal of the tile as part of the contract. On 2/21 the installers removed the carpet and prepped the floors. Despite the lack of dust in tile removal, the prep work does create a lot of dust. After several feet of flooring the installer advised there was an edge defect in the flooring. This resulted in an order of a different lot. The replacement flooring arrived and installation began on 3/19. The first day involved some very difficult work removal the laid prior flooring. Installation went smoothly and quickly for 2 1/2 days. On the last day the installers delivered and help us lay a custom area carpet purchased separately from O'Krents. We removed all furniture except for a table, couch, and three chairs. Installer Ronny, and his son Dillon, are master floor craftsmen. Plus they are real nice guys and joined us for lunch on two occasions. All appointments and scheduling went as planned.

They moved everything out. We have a big sleep number bed, an they moved everything. They actually ended up sweeping, mopping and the whole 9 yards. They were really good too. They put little things on their feet and everything. We shopped this one and the price quality was perfect. We had a budget and this is what is going to happen. We told them what our budget was. They said they would make it happen and they did. They did not do promoting or anything. What we agreed on is what we paid. I would use them again.

O'Krent's Flooring was a complete lifesaver! They took a horrible mess made by a previous contractor, fixed it and made our floors beautiful. I can't say enough wonderful things about their character, professionalism, knowledge and care. Linda was the sales rep that helped us. She coordinated everything from start to finish. Even though she probably had/has a lot of clients at any given time, she always made us feel like we were the number one priority. She was available to answer questions and followed up to make sure things were taken care of. She is very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain the product, the steps and procedures that would happen before the flooring was laid down. Their installers were great too. They showed up on time, very professional, cleaned up their mess and got things done in a timely manner. There's a reason O'Krent's has been in business for over 100 years. They have great customer service and their products are amazing. I would definitely hire them again and world recommend them to anyone looking for flooring of any kind. Save yourself time, hassle, money and heartache and give them a call. You won't regret it.

I always thought the sales guy - you could tell that he wanted to work with somebody with a bigger order, since we only had one room He did come out and looked at the install to make sure everything went well and to pick up the rest of the payment so we didn't have to go there. That was nice. We like the carpet. It is great.
We looked a long time to get the most cushiest carpet we could for the price. They would be one that we would check if we needed more.

We are so happy with the overall experience - from Linda who worked with us to select the proper hardwood flooring for our home, to Gilbert and his team who did the installation. This was our first remodeling project in our home and didn't know what to expect, but were so pleased with the professionalism of this company that we have decided to hire them to remodel our master bath and have complete confidence that it will add value and beauty to our home. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants the very best!

I purchased a Mohawk product at their sale in March. When the flooring came in, the salesman checked the merchandise and realized it didn't resemble the sample I had selected. He called me and once I saw the flooring I agreed that it was not what I had chosen. He worked with the Mohawk representatives and sent it back. When the second shipment came in, it didn't match the sample either. So, he arranged for me to select another floor. He was with me every step of the way and he kept me informed of the progress. When the new flooring came in, he called me and asked me to verify it was exactly what I wanted. It matched the sample perfectly and I was able to get it installed that very day (due to the availability of a crew). The floor looks spectacular and I highly recommend O'Krent and Michael Ackley. There were a few issues that needed to be taken care of and there is still one unresolved problem. But, I'm sure that will be resolved.

went to the Store and were greeted with friendly and offered some sodas or bottle of water. Our sales rep Mike Ackley was very helpful, knowledgeable, offered us many choices, and made us feel comfortable in the process. Gave us a preliminary estimate pending in-home measurements.
Mike came out to the house performed some exact measurements and quoted us a final price that was more accurate than our estimate which I suspected. The sample he showed us in the showroom clearly was the right choice.
On Dec 9-11, 2015, Junior, his son, and another worker installed the flooring in our master bedroom, family room, and home office. The work was extremely well done and very high quality. Junior's experience and craftsmanship showed in every phase of the project. Unlike other installations, he took the right amount of time to make it right and we are EXTREMELY pleased.
I want to say thank you to Leo the production manager at O'Krent's for his efforts to ensure the quarter round was painted and scheduling of a top notch crew to do the installation.
I also want to thank Samantha O?Krents for her efforts to make sure all the ordering, processing of payment and patience in making the deal so smooth.
Lastly, another shout out to Mike Ackley for his professionalism, no pressure sales, and making us so happy we choose O'Krent's Abbey Flooring Center.

This is the second time we have used O'Krents. I have been exceedingly pleased each time. They were very punctual when I inquired about their carpet. And the sales person (Ed Abate) was fabulous! He worked overtime making sure we had the right carpet. He allowed me to take many samples home. And on one occasion, Mr. O'Krent greeted me in the showroom and made sure I was being taken care of. I would use O'Krents over and over again.

Janet at O'Krent helped us pick out a perfect laminate for our home. She then came out and measured, ordered the laminate, had the flooring delivered and scheduled a team to install the flooring in the living/office/dining and hallway to the bedrooms. The floors are awesome and made a HUGE difference in the area. We just LOVE them.
I also needed 2 large area rugs to work with my decor. Janet was able to direct me to a 6 x 9 leopard rug that was made by their crew to compliment my modern living room. My office needed a green shag rug to compliment my vintage/modern area. Janet was able to take me through the showroom to select the perfect carpet. She then ordered the carpet and had their staff make me the perfect size rug (7 x 9) for my office. When we bought our vintage home and needed flooring done I knew that there was only one place in San Antonio that I could trust to do a perfect job. I drove straight to O'Krent!

I am updating my previous review. After a posted a less than great review, Sam O'Krent called me and explained that I have a lifetime warranty on the labor. He put me in contact with their customer relations manager, Monica Mills, and she came to my house and we discussed the issues I was having. A few weeks later a man came to fix the issues. I am happy now. I do still wish the guy that originally laid the tile had used spacers as some of the spacing is off, but it is not so bad that I would make a huge deal over it. So if you have tile laid by O'Krents, just insist that the guy doing the job uses spacers. I also wished I had picked out a darker grout, but that is on me. If you have dogs, please save yourself some aggravation and pick a darker grout. I do feel that O'Krent's has excellent customer service and wants their customers to be satisfied even it's a few years after installation.

From start to finish my experience with having new floors installed in my house was made so much easier with the professional services of O'Krents floor specialists. My house was a challenge for the company due to the fact that several unexpected obstacles( door issues,water leaks)caused delays in scheduled appointments. However, the staff at O'Krents were kind to point out issues rather than cover them up and then waited until repairs were completed before continuing the floor installation. The floors are beautiful. I strongly recommend O'Krent's for floor needs and services.

Installation was ok...BUT, replacing and finishing the edges all the way around was not included, and I was NOT informed about this. I was told that I had to provide this service on my own. So, I asked for a recommendation, and they gave me a name. The estimate was given, and I accepted, but the work was shoddy. They stained the wood in a sloppy,. sloppy look, and I was dissatisfied. I asked them to come and re do the work...They never came. This was not OKrent, but the second business who was in charge of finishing the job.
I was very disappointed that no one told me that the job would not be complete, or as they say, 'turnkey'. Because of this, I am about to have new flooring put in, but will not agree to flooring unless the whole thing is done properly, and the company takes responsibility for the 'turn key' product; and I will never use OKrent again, because they permitted this as part of the 'sale', but did not inform me.
I was very disappointed that no one told me that the job would not be complete, or as they say, 'turnkey'. I had a wonderful experience at O'Krent's. From the moment I walked into the store I was treated top notch. It was refreshing that everyone I met or talked to from O'Krent's was so nice to me. Their customer service was outstanding, everyone was knowledgeable, installation turned out beautiful, and the price beat several other flooring competitors. They will be my only stop for flooring in the future. Thanks again for all the hard work and a beautiful floor!
