O'Krent's Abbey Flooring Center

Our neighbors had used them. I got them on sale, so that was good. We waited until after the holidays. They were fantastic. We had the floor in the living room and the dining room carpeted and you do not realize how much fur the carpet catches; it is a lot of hair. They did it so much faster than we thought they were going to. It was unbelievable and they kept checking in with the person that sold it to us. They are still calling to make sure we are satisfied and everything is okay.

The sales consultant, Kelly was absolutely horrible. If it were up to me, I wouldn't have used this company because of the way she treated my husband and myself on our first visit to the store. She acted very entitled, as if having our business was not important to her. My husband liked the detail of the company's installation process, so we went with them anyway. After meeting at the store, we had to set up a home consultation. Kelly was supposed to call on Monday to confirm our Tuesday meeting. When I didn't hear from her, I called her on Tuesday morning, and she said she was busy and had to reschedule for the following week. She blamed me for not checking in with her on Monday. I'm sorry, but when is it the customer's job to follow up? Then, Kelly was late to our home consultation by over an hour. Let me also note that they were by far the most expensive. Not only that, but Kelly incorrectly added her estimate (under by $100), so we honestly pointed out her mistake and asked her to split the difference. She told us that wouldn't be possible, and it wasn't until I told her we were taking our business elsewhere that she decided it would be ok. We had the price in writing, and if we had fought hard enough, they probably would've had to accept it, but we were honest and yet she still treated us like dirt. Next came time to schedule the actual installation. Kelly was supposed to call the next day to tell us how soon the matieral would arrive and when we could get it installed. Neither happened. More than two weeks went by before I finally got in touch with the manager. The whole process was supposed to be completed within the 2 weeks, so this did not make me happy either. The manager was fantastic throughout our conversations and did whatever he could to help us get our project finish. Unfortunately, at this point it was too little too late in regards to changing my mind about the company as a whole. To top it all off, when the installers came in, they said that the salesperson (Kelly) had given us poor advice as to which material was best for our project. Awesome! The installers did a pretty decent job, but like I said earlier... I wouldn't go back! We're just thanking our lucky stars this project is over.

We were caught a little off-guard when we realized they would be moving all the furniture to our living room at one time (which has a tiled floor and no work was being done there). That made things a little tight in the living room. While nothing was truly damaged, there were a few dings in some door frames that needed to be filled and/or touched-up with paint from moving the furniture. The installation crew, Ed Abate (our sales rep) and working with O'Krent's went very well. The crew worked quickly and acted professionally. Ed was very helpful from pre-sale, during the installation and afterwards. We would certainly do business with them again and have received many complements on our new hardwood floors. My wife and think they did a great job and the floors look wonderful!

I've used them several times and they always live up to everything that they say they are going to do. Next week they are coming to carpet six rooms and a hallway. They live up to what they promise. They are on time. They are courteous. They do a very good job of helping me picking out carpets. I had picked up some carpets and when the salesperson came out to measure, she talked to me about the color. She also pointed out to me what hue of what I picked out would look better than what I had picked out. They are very helpful and very honest. They do a good job. I would give high grades for their service and their product.

The work went smoothly. They have a great reputation. The sales person was readily accessible. They did a walk through after the work was completed. They left some extra materials behind for future repairs. I will use their services again in the future.

The experience at O'Krent's was great from beginning to end. A friend had suggested we look at going through a wholesaler for the carpeting, but that company had several bad ratings on Angie's List so I tried other places. O'Krent's was light years ahead of the others we went to. Our sales associate, Monica, knew their product line well and listened carefully to what I was looking for so she could show me what I wanted to see. She made a trip to our home with samples to ensure that the colors worked well for us and went over the installation layout plan with us, at our request. The carpeting we liked was on a promotion that included no additional charges for the pads and installation, including furniture moving. It was touted as being exceptionally soft--and it is. The carpeting came in at the time promised and O'Krent's planned the installation around our schedule. The installers, Genaro and Martin (and another fellow the first day) were the best ever. Genaro and Martin had obviously worked together a long time and were a well-oiled machine as they laid the carpeting to perfection. They were careful with the furniture and made sure to re-place it exactly as we wanted it. We couldn't have asked for a better installation job. We got two calls from O'Krent's (one from our sales associate) the day following the installation, making sure that everything had gone well. I'd check at O'Krent's again before purchasing any floor coverings. This experience was as painless as carpeting purchase and installation can be.

I’ve used them before. I had a home previously and they had done the tile work in that house too. I really like working with them. They are very professional. The installers that they have really know what they are doing. Their price is a little high. Their installation is a little bit high especially, but that’s because of the quality of the workmanship or the craftsmanship. I would use them again. I’m actually going to call them back in a couple of weeks to do some backsplash in my kitchen.

Kelly, our sales representative, came to our house to do floor measurements and give us an estimate on the products that we picked out. She had patiently put up with my exchanging samples several times so we could find just the correct product. On the chosen day the crew arrived and started to work, They were professional and took great care in what they did. Three days after they started I had beautiful new floors.

Carpet installers came on time for appointment, were efficient, considerate, quick, careful, pleasant. Did a good job!

Their price was not at all affordable. We were okay to buy but the lady didn’t seem that she understood the product. They were really nice people but didn’t seem that they knew the product. I would not consider in using them again in the future.

They were punctual. They did not try any hard sell and were helpful. I liked their products. They let us keep some samples too. They will be coming out during the fall to do the work.

Roseanne was gracious, knowledgeable, and helpful.

It was the best service from the front store receptionist to the salesman to the installer to the manager. Do not bother with any other company. Ask for Ed Abatte.

My interaction with them was fine. I was doing it for informational purposes. Their customer service was fine; they were responsive and did what I asked them to do. I haven?t used them. It is possible that I would contact them for service in the future or for a quote.

The craftmanship of the installers was impeccable. I was very pleased with the word done. A representative from the company called after the work was completed to ensure that I was satisfied with the work. The only criticism I have to offer is that they did not fix part of the wood trimming on the stairs when the carpet was removed (slight lack of attention to detail). They offered to fix it after I had pointed it out. I declined and had my husband complete the trim. The floors are gorgeous and I have received many compliments. The floors have transformed my home. I will use them in the future to lay travertine and hardwood for future home projects.

Workers were great, fast, and knowledgeable. Floor looks great. Re-installed all electronics. Work area was left clean and neat. Great experience.

I was moving in my house and wanted wood floors before my furniture was moved. James came out on a Wednesday of the week prior to the date i wanted the flooring installed. He measured and we met on Friday and set an appointment for the istallation Thursday of the next week. The crew that was sent was professional. Carlos is just fanastic.I noticed a problem with the flooring, contacted James and he sent someone the next day to assess the issue. I would reccommend that if you need carpet or any other flooring needs, please contact O'Krent as they are as competitive as anyone else and stands by there work and products.

Outstanding service from start to finish. Our consultant, Lisa Werkowitch, was pleasant, competent and professional in every way. The installation team did a wonderful job, being careful not to damage anything in the process. They left things very clean and our home looked almost brand new when they were finished. We are very pleased and will definitely choose to work with O'Krent's Abbey Flooring Center in the future, and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Ordering process hit a snag when the flooring vendor delayed shipment. 4 months later, flooring was installed in two days. Crew was very good, answered all questions. Install quality is great.

When they started, they did a day's worth, then discovered that the boards were poorly shaped. They took all that out. It took awhile for a new installer to come, and since he worked alone, it took several days. but the results were worth the wait. I have no complaints since then at all.

My experience with them was very good. I would use their services to get another estimate.

They came when they said they would come. They were very professional and did a very good job. They gave warranty on their product as well. They also called back once the job was done to find out if we were happy with their service. I had a very good experience with them.

This project did not start out well only because there was a delay in the dyeing process and one salesman wasn't returning our calls. However, once the installers arrived things could not have gone any better. Jesse, Arnold and Carlos were very professional, courteous and respectful. The work they did was craftsmanship quality; they even took a few hours to patch some bad wood and fix the door jamb then didn't charge a penny extra for it. We would definitely hire this company again(this was their second installation with us). Five stars for the installers, Jerry, Lawrence and reception.

I did not have a good experience with the sales man at this store. He did not return calls when he said he would call. I was expecting installation, and the night before, he called me to say he did not know where my tiles where, and he would call me in the morning. Well, he was off that day. I called the manager of the store, Mr Crawford. He saved the day by finding out all of the information and having it ready when I called back. The man who installed the tile was focused and hardworking. He was conscientious and pleasant. I probably would not go to this store again because of the salesman.

Horrible. O'Krent's promised experienced employee installers. Was a lie - contractors were used & they did exceptionally poor work. Had to lay wood floors 3 times and still didn't get it right. They tried to level my sub-floor, but made it worse. When wood was layed over hills & valleys they created in sub floor, it created large sink holes (soft spots). Planks were laid sloppily and with large gaps. When I demanded that owner, Sam O'Krent, come out and walk over the sink holes, he responded, "What's the problem, this is normal" [paraphrased]. Had to hire Expert Witness Professional Engineer & threaten lawsuit to get O'Krent to do anything. Horrible company. His philosophy appears to be that there are enough out-of-state people with $ moving to S. Antonio that they do not need to worry about having any repeat business (slash-and-burn business model?). Dealing with O'Krent nearly gave my wife and I nervous breakdowns - ended up spending $25K for horrible work, fees, & headaches.
