Damiani’s Comfort Design has been my AC company for well over 15 years and never once have I considered using someone else. They make you feel like family and always take care of you in a moments notice. I have their routine maintain a package and it saves me money every time. They are always friendly, courteous, and attentive to details. When something isn’t right they thoroughly explain the issue and provide multiple alternatives to get the get it resolved. I have had various techs at the house and they always provide a first class customer experience. They provide top of the line products to go with their top of the line service. The company is a direct reflection of their owner and it makes a world of difference. Highly recommend and don’t think twice about calling Damiani’s Comfort Design.

Everything went great from the estimate to the swap out and now the check up. The price may seem high but I got a top of the line unit and added dampers, UV light and 10 year parts and labor warranty. Nobody else I have found has even offered that. They were right on point with sizing the unit as I previously had an undersized unit thanks to the builder. My only regret was not finding this company sooner. All the employees and the owner are very nice and work with you as much as they possibly can. Great company to work with and I’ve been through at least 5 so I know they are good!

The technician was great. Polite, professional and knew what he was doing. Price was a bit high for off-season work, though. Service was for 2x Heat pump cleaning and inspection. It did not include any Freon. I would hire again

During a Spring A/C tuneup, Lee, our tech, found a part that had failed in our attic unit. He notified the office and had them order a new part. The part was leaking freon and Lee made sure that we were comfortable during the wait for the new part by pumping more freon in the unit. Within a week, Lee was back and had the part replaced and us comfortable again! Lee is very knowledgeable and represents the company in a very favorable manner. We trust him. Although, this service did not cost us anything, my wife and I were impressed with the speed that the company used to ensure our comfort. Thanks!

We could trust that Damiani's staff were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about our A/C unit. Twice a year they serviced our unit and many times they did much needed repairs. When our A/C started to die out, we were disappointed not to be able to stay with Damiani's as their costs to replace the unit was $2,000 more than other vendors. We changed vendors for only that reason. Their service is impeccable.

We have been long time customers of Comfort Design, buying both AC and furnace from them. We have also religiously paid them annually for the maintenance checks. After this last call, we have decided to look for another company. Very disappointed with their products and sales tactics. Michael (the technician), whether on a repair call or maintenance call, always tries to sell us something. Quite honestly, because of this tactic, it was hard to believe him when he told us that we would need to just replace the entire unit. He sold us some sort of compressor charger...indicating that part could then be placed on the new unit. Th next day, Dave promptly called with a quote of $4500 for the cheaper unit, and of course, we could upgrade... When we researched more, I called another well-rated company. He came out, free of charge, and agreed that we needed a new AC unit. However, as they looked over our entire system, they found it odd that Comfort Design mismatched systems. There was no sales pressure, and he advised against the compressor add on for any newer unit. So it sounds like we spent some unnecessary money... Again, we used to love this company. Now we feel taken advantage of--and their customer service has fallen. Would not recommend this company anymore.

I addressed this with the company and that tech no longer works for us. You know what I stand for and he failed to represent in that fashion. I am so sorry. They started and ended exactly on time. The crew of three men were always very punctual, trustworthy and very friendly. They kept us updated throughout the process on findings and adjustments. We trusted them to be alone in the house, and they always treated us with respect. They cleaned everything at the end of every day. We expected they would need to cut out drywall to get access to the areas they needed, and were very pleasantly surprised that they were able to do it all with any drywall holes! Bonus! It was a five day, full time project with three men, all new, state-of the art ductwork, vents, new install of exposed ductwork and a new a/c unit. Everything works beautifully! We didn't know what to do when we actually felt air moving through vents that had never worked! They are coming back to blow in insulation in the attics.

"Thanks so much for your awesome review. Andrew showed me the end result pictures of the spiral ductwork going into your work out room and it looked awesome. We definitely had a lot of obstacles to overcome with the construction of your home but we pride ourselves in doing things that other companies say can't be done. Where the is a will there is a way. Sometimes you just have to think outside the box. I am so glad that your air flow throughout your home is so much better. The guys take great pride in the work they do and they are pationate about the quality of work they give to our customers. Your family was very patient with this big project and I am so glad that all worked out. Have a great summer in your "cool" home. Thanks Tom Damiani"

The technician arrived earlier than the window given. That might be a plus, except if I wasn't home. The charge just to get them out is $60. We briefly explained what was going on with the unit. He brought his gauges to begin hooking up to our system. When he realized we were low on coolant, he was not able to tell us exactly how low the system was and gave us a pretty big range of how much it would be to refill. He said about 300-600 dollars. I don't know about you, but that's a big range for us, and it's important for us to know in advance exactly how much we will be spending. Instead of putting a band aid on the issue which he believed to be due to a leak in our coils, the other options included replacing the coil or replacing the system since it ran on the older refrigerant that will eventually be phased out. He said in order to see if their was a leak, that would be a separate charge. So we went on to inquire about how much the coil would be to replace. He was not sure about pricing. Then, we said what about replacing the system? He said he didn't handle that area, and we would have to find out from their sales guy. So we decided to get a price on the coil and inquire about a new system. He scheduled us for whenever we wanted (I thought it was strange that he would be available whenever we wanted). He never checked to see if the man was available. He left us a receipt which specified that the sales man would be arriving at our house the following weekend from 3-5 on Saturday. No one ever called or showed up. This is not the first time we have received less than average responses or lack of response from providers that are A rated on Angie's List.

I do know that Donna from my office tried to call y'all and confirm the Saturday appointment and she did not get a returned phone call to confirm that you would be available. So, I am not sure what happened there. Thanks and again I am sorry that this call didn't go as you expected. We will learn from this in our next meeting. Thanks Tom Damiani"

We have a contract with them, they come Summer & Winter and change our filters and check everything out. They come if we call them in-between there. We have been very satisfied with them! We deal with them, because we like them. They send somebody out, they?re always nice, neat, clean, polite and do their job.

They have done a good job, always! Any time that we have called them in the past 10 years or so that they have been doing this for us. If there has been any kind of anything that we seem to feel that isn?t quite right, they seem to come right away when they said they would be here.

This has to be, by far, the most bizarre experience I ever had with any service provider. It all started AUG 5, please read my original review from AUG 11 for that part. Following is my most recent experience with this company which changed my perception and grades: The unit cooled fine for a little more than a month, but on SEP 17 the exact same thing happened again: the upstairs unit would not cool below 80. I called Damiani's again and this time Andrew, one of their most experienced technicians, was sent to my home. He arrived on time and again checked the schematics of the air flow on the unit and changed the wiring to a very minimal airflow...I could not hear the normal swooshing sound from the air coming out of my vents; however, he indicated that the first technician's change to the wiring was incorrect, so he had to modify it. He then checked outside and told me it was low on refrigerant by a lot. I then realized that the first visit was a waste of time and money as all the information I was given was wrong and there was obviously a big leak in the system. Obviously knowing there was a leak, Andrew told me I needed refrigerant and that he would also inject the dye to find the leak. He added around 2 lbs of R-410A refrigerant and injected the dye. That is a substantial amount of refrigerant, which baffled me because a bit over a month earlier their first technician said that he could not find anything wrong. I was charged $149 for the first pound and $89 for each additional pound. The unit started cooling after getting 2+ lbs of refrigerant. The airflow from the wiring changes done by Andrew resulted in no sound from the vents, but it was cooling to 77 as set. Andrew returned on SEP 29 to search for the leak and this time he opened the cased coil on the unit and found evidence of a leak. He said a coil replacement was needed and just wrote the cost to do the repair on the invoice for that day's visit. It did not list any details on the repair, just a quote for $982.80, which I was supposed to accept by faith I guess and just hope for the best. He mentioned that they are installing all-aluminum coils because manufacturers are basically only producing those. I asked Andrew for the model number of the replacement coil and he just asked for my email to let me know. Nobody ever got back to me. I did some research on the internet about my Lennox coil for similar issues and found that there was a class action lawsuit that was settled this past December which provides relief for owners who have experienced the same exact thing: leaking coil within the first 5 years of ownership. I read in that information that the preferred solution was to install an all-aluminum replacement coil. Therefore, I became even more interested in knowing which model was going to be used. Since I had not received the information, I called Damiani's and Joseph answered. I explained that I wanted to know the model for the replacement coil and to get the repair details in writing. Joseph told me that the model listed in my invoice was going to be the same model after the repair. I argued that it was impossible to have 2 different coils have the exact model number so I insisted to get it in writing. However, Joseph insisted on his original explanation and told me that if I wanted to find the model I could call Lennox myself and find out (!?) and proceeded to treat me as a nuisance while trying to hang up the phone on me. He even insinuated that I was asking for that information just to use it to compare prices with other companies. Are you kidding me? Simply horrible customer service. The customer is entitled to ask for things in writing BEFORE a repair and he can use that as needed and the business does not have any right to treat him in this manner. At that point I told him that it was outrageous that he had the nerve to tell a customer to call Lennox himself for information for a work that is being done by them, that they should be able to provide ALL the details a customer needs, and that I did not appreciate the treatment! Simply incredible. I called the owner's number and Donna answered. I explained the customer service experience I just had with Joseph and that I was not happy and even thinking of going with a different company as a result. She acknowledged that such was not the proper way to treat a customer. I explained that I just wanted to get the model number for the replacement coil, simple. Then she also told me that the model would be the same, which did not make any sense at all, but said she would call Lennox to confirm and get back with me. I then called the Lennox lawsuit customer service line and they provided me with the all-aluminum replacement coil model, something that Damiani's would not do. As I thought, the model number was DIFFERENT, which contradicted the information given to me by Joseph and Donna. That night I wrote an email to the owner, Tom, explaining all my concerns in a detailed manner and asking for something in writing that indicated the model number of the replacement coil and all the other steps or processes that would be done with prices and warranty. I wrote the model number of the all-aluminum coil that Lennox gave me. I never received a response. The next day, I talked to Donna again and she passed me to the owner. Tom told me that he had read my email and that the replacement would be the one I mentioned in it. I was glad to hear that, but I still wanted to have it in writing before proceeding. He told me he would reply to my email. He never did. At that moment I started to have doubts about this company as I could not comprehend why providing something in writing to the customer was such a huge deal. I contacted a different company. The technician was outstanding and a true professional. He explained all he did and his findings in detail. He agreed with the diagnosis from Damiani's and then explained to me all the details of what a proper repair would need and how it would be done. From his explanation, I immediately noticed lagoons on the information, or lack thereof, that I had received from Damiani's regarding my repair. Also, he had to change the air flow wiring again to correct it and showed me the schematics and explained why. I sent another email to Damiani's owner asking for the details in writing, specifically I asked for the model number of the replacement coil, I asked if they planned to reuse the refrigerant in the system or if they would use all new refrigerant, among other things; however, he never answered. Consequently, I called around 2 days ago and this is when it turned REALLY WEIRD. Donna answered and she immediately passed me to the owner. Tom then tells me out of the blue that I AM SCARING HIM!? Wow! Seriously!? So of course, I asked how in the world was I scaring him, and the reason was that I was asking all this questions and asking for things in writing!! Simply incredible. He even went as far as telling me that he felt I would be his most expensive $1k repair ever, whatever that is supposed to mean. My guess is that a customer who asks for everything in writing beforehand is a customer who will be hard to fool. You have the owner of a company telling a customer that said customer is scaring him simply because that customer wants to see in writing what his company plans to do in detail before agreeing to the work. Isn't that something that is logical for any responsible person? I was appalled to say the least. He asked me if I had been burned before and if that was the reason why I was asking for these things in writing. I responded that I had not been burned, which was due precisely to the fact that I always ask for things in writing before agreeing to have work done on ANYTHING. He also brought into the conversation the fact that I had an issue with Joseph that I explained above, and I explained why I was upset with the treatment I received. I said that I only make informed decisions and that I needed things in writing. He said he would see what he could do and NEVER replied or contacted me after that. This is, by FAR, the most incredible example of outrageously bizarre customer servic
Response from Damiani's Comfort Design
"Mr. [Member Name Removed], You are 100% correct that we should have given you the Specific Lennox Model number of the new coil. That was our mistake concerning this call. Here is what Andrew gave you to replace your leaking coil under a parts warranty. 9/29/16 - "On last visit added refrigerant to system along with dye. Performed leak check found dye on evap. coil. Coil has rust buildup in pan. Recommend replacing coil. Eva. coil is under a 5-year part warranty. Labor and material to replace coil. Replacement $1,092 military discount 10% $982.80" So we specifically put in writing what we were going to do and how much that would be. I solved your frustration with Joseph by assuring you that the coil model was in fact different and that the aluminum coil did have a different model number. Joseph is a dispatcher and doesn't know model numbers of equipment and once I got the call I cleared that up for you. The issue was that you wanted me to list every single thing we were going to use to complete your repair. IE Filter drier, solder, CO2, mastic, tape etc. Typically customers don't want to know every piece of material we are going to use to complete a repair. I sincerely apologize for how all this went but sometimes I find that certain situations are just better to walk away from. I am very happy that you found a company that could meet your needs. My company did some things wrong with this call and I apologize for those things. Joseph now knows that when a customer has a question about the equipment to just send it to me to handle. So we learned something from this call. Again I apologize for your experience with my company and am glad that you found a good solution for your homes heating and cooling needs. Take Care, Tom Damiani"
