County Wide Service Company

I called them because I saw that they were rated very high on Angie's List and I was sick of being jacked around by the service companies that were contracted by my insurance company. In this instance, I literally paid out of pocket for the services done by Countywide, just so I could have a sound second opinion about the work the other companies were doing. My service person, Edgar, arrived within an hour of my call and was 5 minutes early. He made a fabulous impression on me because, unlike most service people in this industry, he didn't try to talk over my head with a bunch of industry jargon that I do not understand. He was able to effectively tell me what the other companies had done wrong, isolate what needed to be fixed and how I could work with the other companies in getting this done more effectively. Unlike the other company, that was content to leave me with no air for 6 days, he re-booted my system within 30 min and got the air working.

I called on a Wednesday to schedule and the dispatcher was ready to send someone out that day. I preferred Saturday, so the work was scheduled for then. I'd been told 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. was the time frame to expect him, and Frank the technician called us at 11:30 a.m. to indicate arrival at 12:00 p.m. Frank was polite and funny, he zipped up the ladder into our attic. He identified a big clog in our drain lines and recommended re-plumbing them, which we agreed to. He also noted that a tree had bashed our whirlybird on the roof top which allows heat to escape from the units. A gap had been created between the whirlybird and the roof, allowing some rain to come in. He plugged that hole for us until repairs could be issued. He educated us on the fact that there should be no moisture in the drip pans if everything is working correctly. We had thought moisture in those pans was normal. He recommended a wet alarm, which we are definitely going to have installed!!

Ordinary maintenance was performed promptly on two units as promised. Technician was friendly and polite. Price was as quoted originally at time of appointment. Nine days later one of the units failed. Same technician returned; could not explain reason for failure (clogging of drainage pipe) as anything more than coincidence; repaired problem. One week later the same problem recurred. Another technician came and repaired the problem again. Still no explanation as to why this phenomenon has occurred. This is written four days after most recent repair; waiting.

The service was thorough, although the technician was very quiet. If I had questions about my system, he answered them, but I like it when technicians provide information without having to ask, so that the customer is better informed. Sometimes a customer doesn't know to ask, & if a technician doesn't provide information on their own, then the customer is in the dark.

Tech did his work efficiently and quietly. We were very pleased with this checkup and this was the first time we had used this company.

They did a good job, but were a little bit more expensive then I thought they should have been.

After getting five or six estimates to replace both units at once; I was impressed with Jim Barnes who came for the estimate, and the explanation of the units and all that would be included in the replacement process. On the day of installation, the team was prompt and professional, courteous and friendly. It took about 6-7 hours for the installation. They checked the system and later a supervisor returned and rechecked the system. In about a week a City Inspector came out to inspect the installation. All passed without incident or problem. I was truly impressed; although having owned a number of homes, this was the first time I have ever replaced an entire system like this and after the tediousness of estimates, County Wide, Jim and his team made it one of the easiest jobs I have had done.

In general, was satisfied with work performed especially since it was done in a timely manner on a hot day, and on a holiday weekend! The only somewhat negative comment - and it's a mild one at that - is that the cost of a new contactor assembly and the labor to install such seemed rather high. However, when your A/C is out you really can't afford to shop around to perhaps save a few dollars. It would be appreciated if the service call charge would be credited against the job, as some AC contractors do - just a suggestion. (If no work is done, then I can fully understand charging the fee...)

County Wide technician responded 30 minutes after I called on a Friday afternoon. Very clean, professional, and efficient. I would strongly recommend.

We were so happy with the service. Although this was not an emergency call, when I contacted them on Friday afternoon around 4:30pm they still had someone out within two hours to make the repair. I was extremely impressed with the service and will definitely call them again.

I was expecting at least a few day's wait, but was sent a tech in less than an hour's time. He was very professional and extremely helpful by pointing out: items needing attention (surge protector for protecting circuit board on inside unit); items that I could service periodically myself (procedure for keeping drain line clear); items not being utilized (system designed for using two filters while I was only using one and allowing dust to flow around said filter into ducts). Also, the system needed a small charge of Freon which was added at no additional fee. Tech was also very friendly, professional in appearance and protected the area he was working in from being soiled. The phone representative was also very pleasant and professional.

County Wide has a very good reputation. The repairman was on time and worked diligently. Of course the labor was more than the compressor, but at least I was secure that they would do a good job, and that the repairman had done this type of job many times.

Called at 11:00a.m. on a Friday for routine service. The scheduler stated she could have someone at my home within 3 hrs! I was prepared to have someone out a week from now...so I was very pleased since I'd already planned to be home all day. Someone called about 30 min before arrival of the technicians, just as promised. The technician was punctual, professional, and did not recommend any high dollar remedies other than items I already knew were needed. The fees were reasonable for the services provided. I had located this company via Angie's list and I can highly recommend them. I will definitely use them for the winter prep of my system and for the annual service hereafter as well.

I called on a Saturday and they came to fix my air conditioner that day. They were very prompt, and did an excellent job. Their walk in fee is the same 7 days a week. Very satisfied and will use them again.

They are very good and they come every fall and winter to check everything for us. The price listed is for the repair and replacement of the freon line. They offer yearly contracts.

I have used the same company for a few years now to clean my air ducts and I think the work could be a little better. The cleaners are nice and seem to do what they are supposed to be doing, but I do not really see a big difference when they are done. I still see dust in the air and settling on things through out my house. I recently switched to another company to clean my air ducts and there was a big difference in the cleaning.

They check our heating system for any problems. Twice a year they come and check everything to make sure it is working properly. We had a problem with the starter once and they fixed it. Their work is excellent and service is great.

They've provided great service for years and we are very happy with them. They are professional, very helpful and they are great at explaining things to us. All of the mess is cleaned up when they are finish.

County Wide Service did a good job with our heating unit. They were able to identify the problem and quickly got it fixed. They were knowledgeable and professional. I have used their services in the past and have always been satisfied with them.

We have routine maintenance on our heating unit twice a year with County Wide. They are very good at maintaining our heating unit for any problems. It usually takes about one hour to do a routine check. We have not had any problems with them; everything is just great with their service.

We have a yearly service contract with Countywide to service our heat and air conditioner three times a year under this plan. The furnace check in the fall went well with no problems or concerns. We are pleased with the thorough work this company does. I have used their services for many years, everyone is very nice and easy to deal with.

We had a good experience with this company. They responded promptly to our phone call, did the entire job in one day and seemed quite professional. We've had no problems since they installed it.

County Wide Service Company did a good job. The repairman was a nice gentleman, but he was greedy. He said we needed a new part so he put it in. He cleaned up well after himself and took the old part with him when he left. It still wouldn't work right. He ripped us off, because all we needed was some Freon added to the air conditioner. We called them, but never got a call back.

County Wide Heating & Air Conditioning made this a pleasurable experience. The unit that was installed was high quality and the right size for my home. They showed a lot of respect while working in my home. They worked quickly. I was impressed with the price. They were an all around excellent company.

County Wide Service Company did a great job on our system. It works great. The work crew was very respectful of our home and they cleaned up their mess when they were finished. I was very happy with their company.
