Three months later, system wouldn't turn off. He came back out, spent 2 hours looking around for disconnected floor pan; he couldn't find anything wrong. Talked me into another $200 purchase of a remote to control the system but never followed through with the delivery of it so I didn't have to pay that, thank goodness. 
We figured out that floor pan in the kitchen was broken. We called Homewerks, they came out today, repaired the floor pan lever in 2 minutes AND figured out that the reason that the system wouldn't turn off was because of 2 wires that were disconnected on the original vacuum system in the garage. Wow. I'm glad that it is finally fixed after all of this time but I would NEVER use this company again, I would NEVER recommend them. What I would say is, Call Homewerks.

The repair was fine, but they called to tell us it was ready but it was not finished.  A plastic piece of the cover was never put on again, and I still have to go pick it up.  He is very knowledgeable, but a little scattered.

On June 6 I took my Hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum cleaner, which was still under warranty, to All Central Vacuum for service. The vacuum cleaner had two problems-- the power cord would not retract and the motor had become very loud. I was greeted by a non-accommodating lady who told me the technician was not in that day but I would be called as soon as he checked out the machine. Almost three weeks passed and no one called. Today, June 22, I called the company and was told that the motor had dirt in it and that to repair would not be covered by the warranty so they had not repaired it. There was no mention of the power cord. When I picked up the vacuum cleaner I was told the reason they didn't call me was because it takes about two weeks to verify the warranty. Then as I was leaving they tried to sell me a new vacuum cleaner that was on sale for $200. By the way, if indeed the motor has dirt in it is not because the filters weren't changed as needed.  So I would not recommend All Central Vacuum nor would I recommend the purchase of this particular vacuum cleaner.

"Hello sir, The reason the Vacuum was not under warranty was because the Power Cord was yanked out too far. This is not a manufacturer's error. There is a strip of tape located on the cord, which tells you when you've pulled it out of the Rewinder too far. In addition, the dirt got into the motor because of the neglect of the filters. Once the filters were too dirty, the dust gets trapped in various other places around the unit, including the motor. Be sure to replace filters (if you have pets) about 3 or 4 times a year. We have ex-Hoover technicians who look over Hoover Warranty Repairs. (We hired them after the Hoover stores closed all around the nation.) We do this to ensure all Hoover products are properly serviced."

Not good. When the vacuum stopped working, I used the Hoover.com website to find an authorized warranty repair location which referred me to the All Central Vacuum shop location off of Pat Booker Rd. I dropped off the vacuum on Oct 11 and the shop told me they would check it out to see if the fix was covered under warranty and would contact me. I was originally told by phone that they could check it out the same day as drop off (Monday, Oct 11), but when I dropped it off (about noon) they said that they would need until Wednesday, Oct 13, to get back to me. They never got back to me, so I called them, and which turned into a familiar cycle of: we're looking for your vacuum (usually a 3-5 minute search); we found it and it is taken apart; we don't know if Hoover has approved the warranty repair; the main repair guy is working a different location today; we're short-handed or had to cover the other location unexpectedly; we think the main repair guy will be at this location on X day, so please call back then to find out the status. This company runs a shoe-string operation and, unfortunately, Hoover seems to have gone with the low-bidder for their warranty services. The All Central employees seem competent and dedicated, just completely mismanaged and unorganized. There is no system to track repair orders, customers or repair status, so if you don't speak to the person actually doing the repair, you're stuck calling them back continuosly for status. My new don'ts are: don't buy a Hoover - cheaply made and the outsourced warranty service is a hassle; don't buy a vacuum from All Central Vacuums; don't buy any vacuum brand which uses All Central for its warranty service/repairs.

I was very satisfied with the repair work for a couple of reasons. First, I wasn't even sure if the vacuum was worth repairing, because of its age. As soon as I walked in the door the owner (who I can't remember his name, unfortunately) said, "You have a nice machine there. A very good vacuum." Just by looking at the serial number he told me how old the machine was and that even at 9-yrs old it was worth repairing. He did offer me $200 if I traded it in, but never pressured me on it. He called me a few business days later and told me what the problem was and that it would cost $155 to repair. However, when I picked the vacuum the charge was only $125. He installed a free replacement bag and even added some scent crystals to the bag to help deodorize the air as I swept. The owner/manager was friendly and very professional. The only negative, and it's minor, is that he told me when it would be ready and said they would call when it could pick it up, but they didn't call. No big deal...

I was very pleased with the service and the price! Joseph was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I took my vacuum in late on a Thursday. He asked me how soon I needed it back, but I was not in a rush, so I was able to pick it up early Monday. We have two dogs and one cat, so the vacuum had pet hair and dust in places I couldn't easily clean and also had that "doggy" smell. I would recommend this company to anyone and plan on using them next time I need a vacuum repair or cleaning.

They delivered the vacuum one day later than promised, but it was done right. They were very easy to work with. If you call, you have to ask if this is the vacuum shop. They only answer the phone with a simple, ''hello?'', which is somewhat disorienting. Other than that, it was a positive experience. I would use them again.
