A Best Tree Service

I hired this contractor because he gave me the best quote after finding him on Angie's list with a pretty high rating. I got an estimate for the tree trimming when he came out in person for $350, but of course had to wait a few days for the quote on the fence, which I received through text message (bad idea!!) The quote was for $2000. As I said I had many contractors come out for an estimate before hiring someone. The owner set a date with me and then the night before had to move it 4 days out, that really was not an issue for me. We only were having 2/3 of our fence replaced since the back had already been done by a neighbor. I was not home when they started the 1st day of work, but did have someone there in case any problems arose. I arrived home after work and spoke to him about the progress, things seemed to be moving along. The fence was completely down and the new posts almost put up. I was then asked for $200 more for materials. I was fine with this, but asked to make sure it would come off the total. I was then informed that the price was $350 more than what I was originally told!! I informed him again of the price he had given me and that he did mention another $350 if he trimmed all my trees. He then told me no if I wanted the trees done, that would be another $300!!! At this point, I felt blind sided and completely taken advantage of. I would never have agreed to these costs as I had many offers that were lower! I was beside myself and told him I would let him know if I wanted him to even finish the job. He told me "lets finish the fence and then I will trim the trees away from the house and the low hanging trees to be able to sell the house." I had informed him I had needed the trees cut to sell the house. I reluctantly agreed and should have went with my gut at that point. He told me his men would be back the next morning between 8 and 9. Two of them showed but the owner and other hands didn't come till 10. Not really an issue as long as the work got done. They were very careful putting the fence up and it seems level and sound. That however is the ONLY good thing I can say about the service! Today as they were working through, the owner said he needed cash for more materials. I gave him more cash and again asked if it would come off the total, he said yes. When the fence was complete and he wanted final payment I asked again when he would be coming back to do the trees, he said "he would NOT since it cost him so much time and money to do my fence." He said "he didn't make a profit and was only trying to get it done." Again he tried to explain the cost of materials and all his workers, verse the hours he was there didn't leave him much profit so he could not trim the trees like he had promised the day before. He did offer to come back out and have me pay him another $200 to have him do it though, "just to be nice" as he said. I am sickened by the business practices of this company and though I am glad to have this done and a fence up, it definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth for contractors! I have never felt so robbed by a business! The whole reason I joined Angie's list was to avoid scams like this and I am VERY disappointed that I still had the same experience. What a waste of time and money!! If I were to take him up on his offer the end price would be $550 MORE than the original quotes! & please keep in mind my whole fence wasn't even replaced! All of this could have been easily avoided had the owner just been up front about he price from the beginning and if he discovered a discrepancy at least follow through on your promise to at least work with me and make things right. I really felt like this business owner took advantage of me and my situation and had no intention of making any effort to make it right. He promised to call again next week about the trees, I guess we will see.

Jesus said he would arrive at around 8:30 am and they arrived on time. They worked straight until about 3 in the afternoon. They are hard working and took only about 2 short breaks. They asked me before starting if I had any questions and after the job, they asked me to see if I liked the job. They wanted to make sure I was satisfied and wanted me to have a good look before they left. They are courteous, punctual and hard working.

They performed the service as requested and expected. I noted excellent results. I was able to fill in the former stump area with soil for grass to grow,

Personally, I did not appreciate this individual giving out my phone number and information to another who contacted me and offered his services to complete the fence for a price of $4,000. I did not know the individual who called nor did I contact him to request his assistance. I know it was the individual who came out to give me an estimate from "A Best Tree Service" because the individual who called stated as much when I asked. He simply stated that he was told I was looking for someone to do a cheap job. I told him that was untrue and that what I was looking for was good quality work regardless of the price.

It went fine. After calling Jesus for an estimate, he came out the next morning and gave us the estimate, which we accepted. He and his two man crew were able to complete all the work that same day. They even trimmed a smaller tree and also removed some additional brush and limbs I had piled in the back

They were prompt both days. A few cut limbs were left in the shrubs but overall the cleanup was good.

I liked it all, they were quick, came when they said, stayed on the job and kept working until they were done. They were very good and very quick. They brought enough guys to do the work and it was a fair price. I am going to call him and have him remove a limb for me.

I will use this company again in the future.

Jesus returned my call promtply and came out for an estimate. He started the next morning when he said he would and was finished in about 4 hours. He and his team did an incredible job trimming our trees which had not been trimmed in a few years. He was very professional, honest, and knowledgeable. He did the job in half the time other companies had quoted, without skimping on service or quality. Would highly recommend this service, and will use again.

They were right on time. They have superior customer relations. They did outstanding, safe work. They gave an unbelievable good price. They did outstanding cleanup. I whole hearted recommend them to anyone in the San Antonio, Texas. They are fine as flour.

I was thoroughly satisfied and pleased. Responding to my telephone request, Jesus Vivanco appeared within 3 hours to survey the work and furnish an estimate. Despite his busy schedule, he and his colleague completed the work within 2 hours on the second day after his estimate: cutting the trees in sections from the top down, carefully dropping the sections without damaging any property, and then chipping and hauling the debris and carefully cleaning the sawdust.

They did a fantastic job. Jesus, the lead guy, was excellent. They did a wonderful clean up job when they were finished and I would definitely use them again in the future.

Jesus provided an excellent service. His bid was lower than the competitors, and the job execution was superb. He did quite a few extra things for a modest increase in price. I would hire him again with no hesitation.

They gave a quick estimate and were prompt in completing the work. Price seemed a little high, but they did their usual good job.

Jesus gave a quote that was much lower than other companies that are highly rated on Angie's list. They did a fantastic job. They were prompt, courteous, professional and we could not have had a better experience. The trees look great and they did a very good job cleaning up too. I would recommend them to anyone.

Called to scheduled an appointment to survey job and give me a price. Came out next afternoon and gave estimate. Came back two days later. Did job and hauled branches. I am very satisified with their service and pricing. I will definately use again.

The job went very well. I got two estimates from Angie's List, and both companies came out to my property on the same day as I contacted them. Mr. Vivanco's bid was the best, and I discovered that I had used his services for prior tree trimming, before I joined Angie's List. Mr. Vivanco came out to my house on the next day, did all the work, and everything that he said he'd do to my satisfaction. He cleaned up all branches and debris (with the exception of some sawdust, which I can remove myself). He was prompt, professional and very courteous. I would definitely recommend him to other homeowners!

Jesus came by to give me an estimate and make an appointment for the next day. He suggested I could save money if I had my son do the debris removal which I appreciated. After tree removal and seeing the side of the stumps, I asked him if he could give me a bid tot he debris removal as we had no way to haul off the sizeable stumps. His estimates were quite reasonable and he was always here when he said he would be. He left the yard very need. I was very pleased with his work.

Jesus and his crew arrived a day earlier than his original estimate and did a fantastic job from start to finish. Everything was done exactly as requested and then some. He and his crew when the extra mile and raked up the back yard of all debris and left everything clean and tidy. I will definitely be calling Jesus in the future when I need a job done!

Came out same day that I called, gave me a great bid and showed up as promised, 2 days later. Jesus and his assistant worked vary hard and were done (including pickup) in 4 hours. Very nice people, very nice price, very good work. I am very happy, and would employ them again.

I had called the company the day before and left a message on his cell phone. My call was returned and we set up a time to meet. The meeting was at 830am the following day and Mr Vivanco was actaully 10 minutes early for the appointment. He looked at the tree and gave me a price on the spot. It was a very fair price and the job was to be completed that same day. I had to leave for work, but trusted that the job would be done and it was. Came home from work, and the only evidence that the tree had ever been there was the stump, it had been cut as close to the ground as possible, which is what was wanted. They did a fantastic job, this tree was really big and cedar on top of that. My husband wants to hire them again to clean up our oak trees and I want to hire them to clean some old over grown plants from our flowerbeds.
