Description of Work: They installed our air conditioner/furnace years ago. We have a yearly maintenance agreement for both units (upstairs and downstairs). They come once a season to do the maintenance and we haven't had any problems with our systems. They are always prompt, the servicemen are friendly and we really appreciate their service.

Description of Work: During the annual service inspection of my HVAC system the technician from Strand Brothers located an air leak at the plenum of the unit. He clearly explained the issue, its location, and the recommended repair. I agreed to have the work done which was completed in a professional manner at the time of the same visit. I have used Strand Brothers for my heating and A/C unit maintenance for many years and am satisfied with their work.

Description of Work: Installed new AC/gas furnace which replaced an old one. They were prompt, efficient, cleaned up just right, gave me good instructions and when the city inspector came by to check on the installation, he was impressed and asked who had done the work. They also installed a fire/carbon monoxide alarm (required by the city). Service was excellent and professional.They also filed the paperwork so that we could receive a rebate from the city.

Description of Work: I have used Strand Brothers for many years. They installed a new heating and air system in 2011. I have mainly used them for spring and fall checks of the system, which costs about $200. Fairly recently the company split, forming two companies: Strand Brothers Service Experts and Stan's Heating and Air Conditioning. I went with Strand. Since the split, the technicians consistently suggest additional work, such as increased insulation, a new type of filter, and sealing ductwork. It seems like a "hard sell" every time. I never had this happen with the old company. The last time, I questioned the technician at some length about the need for what he was suggesting, and I did not think he was able to adequately explain. I may change to Stan's if this keeps on happening.

Description of Work: I used their service to replace a leaking hose bib in my back yard and was pleased with the product and their service. However, I decided to replace the hose bib in my front yard and requested the exact same bib. When the plumber finished the job, I noted that the bib was different and not at all what I wanted. He told me that was what was in stock. I then called the manager and was told that they had to get rid of those types of bibs in their inventory before the end of the year due to requirements specs in the new year.

Description of Work: I had to replace my AC and ended up getting a Dave Lenox variable speed unit from Strand Brothers. They were competitive on the price, offered good options, and promptly installed it. I would recommend them. My first AC bill was $200 cheaper than this time last year.

Description of Work: Had a sewer line problem which turned out to be tree roots in the line. They sent a crew out to dig under the house. Then the plumber came out and said that the crew had not dug far enough and that he would run a camera because he was concerned that some of the damage might be in a foundation beam and if that were the case they would have to send out an engineer, etc.

Description of Work: Service Price includes service call, and maintenance agreement cost for two units; price was fair for what was done | |Had then come out to see why my bigger AC unit was not cooling. Tech was on-time as scheduled, he looked at my outside unit and the copper tubing coming from the house, saw no condensation, said issue/leak was either at the inner unit or somewhere between. Went into the attic, uncovered the coil, ran a leak detector wand (which never beeped) and told me my coil unit was bad and that my builder grade coil system (all in one coil with ducts coming off) should be replaced with a new coil (due to leaks) and a plenum. I asked for a quote and Tech got on phone and immediately received a price quote of $2300 to do the coil and plenum work. I asked for a sales rep to come out and quote me a cost for total system replacement to see if that would be advantageous. Salesman was prompt gave me two different quotes for systems $7100/$8450. I proceeded to get a second opinion for both repair and replacement, new tech tightened a schrader value at my outer unit, recharged the system, washed out my condenser unit, sprayed my entire inner coil with a leak check solution, found none. Performed a check and cleaning on my smaller system and relayed that both systems should last at least 5 more years. Also relayed that replacement cost should be somewhat less that what was quoted. | |Left me with a feeling that they just want to, or are required to oversell by the national company that bought the Strand family out. | |It is hard to give any type of score for quality and overall because from my research the price for coil replacement was not out of the ballpark, the prices for the new units were also reasonable but undoubtedly all prices quoted seem to represent a company mark up to cover overhead. Also wonder if techs are possibly made to do things they may not do under a different circumstances so I have no idea how good the quality of work would be. | |To the readers, take this review as you want and make your own decision. All I can say is I know who will not be installing my new units when I actually need one, or making any repairs for me.

Description of Work: They serviced an air conditioning unit that had not been serviced for a while and as a result was causing the second story of the house to vibrate when the unit was running. After the work was performed, everything seems to be working well. Prompt and polite.

Description of Work: Foundation repair went well. It was reasonably priced. Professional engineer JR Hernandez resolved the issue & very professional. Work crew was prompt, did good work, & cleaned up after completion.
