It went very well. They called before they came to preform the work. They were on time and very professional.

The service technician arrived on time. He was courteous and worked efficiently.

My AC unit quit working on a day that the temperature was 100 or more. I called the #1 listed company on the HVAC list. They told me that they had a cancellation for the same evening and that someone would be at my house between 4 - 8 pm. He did not make it until 8:45 but he was a most welcome sight. He discovered what my problem was immediately and took care of it. He was very nice and courteous. He even checked my neighbors unit, which was right beside mine, to see if he also had an ant infestation. The price was very reasonable and I will certainly not hesitate to recommend Strand Bros.

I called and scheduled an appointment, but wasnt in any hurry so just let them arrange the time. We settled on Tuesday after Memorial Day, and they were to call me prior to arrival so I could meet them out there. I work in San Marcos so had a 30 minute drive. When Tuesday came around, I was swamped at work and completely forgot about the appointment. The time came and went and I never received a call. After calling the office, I found out that the technician had indeed gone on location and waited around for about 30 minutes, but had to leave, and that they attempted to call and left a message for me. For some reason my cell decided not to ring or even let me know that there was a message. Regardless, they were very accommodating with me and had time slots available, but they couldnt guarantee that the tech wouldnt arrive after normal business hours, which would have incurred after hours fees. Ultimately they ended up letting me get the regular service rate, even if the tech showed up after 7:00 pm because of the communication mishap. The tech arrived and quickly checked all the common things out like vents, thermostat settings, power breakers, etc. He then took the panel off of the outside unit and tested the contactor. Determined that it was defective with no sign of damage. Swapped the contactor out and tested again, the system fully engaged. Since the warranty was under the previous owners name, all I had to pay was the $50 transferal fee, but the repair and parts replacement was fully covered. The technician was really friendly and had apparently been out to the duplex a couple of times. He gave me a brief history of all the work that hed done on the systems in the past. Told me about how my tenant likes to self diagnose the system, etc. Really great info that he didnt have to share, but did. Im really glad that the previous owner chose this company to work with, theyre great!

Came home Saturday night to find a puddle of water on the dining room floor. The attic A/C unit drip pan was overflowing and seeping through the ceiling. I called Strand Brothers Monday morning and they were able to squeeze me in for late afternoon (5-7pm). I was about to leave work around 3:30 when they called and said they were already on the way. My service tech, Kim, was professional, courteous and nice. He explained what was going on and even fixed a minor issue (the pan was uneven and thus not draining correctly) with no charge.

Our main A/C unit ceased to cool our downstairs area. The A/C fan was working and the air was circulating, however, the A/C was not cooling the area at all. We could set the thermostat at 65 degrees and the room temperature was 85 degrees...not good as summer is fast approaching. I called Strand Brothers based on their Angies List reputation (and their cool commercials). Since I had never used them before and was not a current customer, I did not expect that they could get to us right away. I called that morning and they were at my house that afternoon. They gave me a 2 hour time period of when they would arrive and their technician was at my house promptly. The technician found that the unit was frozen up. He said that he suspected that the blower motor was burned out but that it was necessary to turn the unit off, let it thaw and return to be sure of exactly what the problem was. He arrived promptly the next morning...indeed the blower motor was burned out. He told us that there were 2 options...replace the blower motor or replace the A/C unit. Considering that our A/C is 10 years old, it was a toss up in our minds as to what we should do. Replacing the A/C unit would of course be much more expensive than replacing the blower motor, however, a 10 year old unit probably didnt have much life left in it. We asked Joe what he would do if it were his house. There was absolutely no pressure put on us to choose either option. We were simply given the facts associated with either option and it was up to us as to what we wanted to do. We chose to take a chance, put off shelling out the big dollars for a new unit, and replace the blower motor. Joe was out the next morning...again, right on time ... replaced the blower motor...and things are "cool" in our household again. I would not hesitate to recommend Strand Brothers to anyone. We will certainly use them again. In fact, we signed up for their yearly maintenance for our A/C and heating system. Needless to say, we were very pleased with their service.

I called early afternoon on Memorial Day. I realized that someone would likely not come over on Memorial Day but I expected a phone call back. Even the next day, I never heard back from Christian Brothers. I did call them back and they gave no excuse for not calling back. They could not schedule me (a person with air conditioning problems in the Texas heat) until four days from today. Not at all impressed. A return phone call would have gone a long way, even if they could not see me for another four days.

They were on time and the serviceman quickly and accurately diagnose the problem. He repaired it and charged the quoted amount. Great service.

They were really nice, did the job well.

I work night shift, so I called the answering service at 0600. They had no idea when I'd get called back, except to tell me the office didn't open till 0800. I received a call at 0745, and given an estimation of close to 1400 before they could get out there. (Which I was grateful for because I didn't expect anyone to come on such short notice, anyway). The tech arrived at 1115, was very respectful of it being the middle of my night, worked quickly and efficiently, and was gone by 1200. He was professional and personable, and I felt completely safe being home alone with him.

Came to check out mildewy smell in AC. They did a thorough check (and comped me for it) and gave me an idea of what my system/house would need in the future. Liked them because they could have scared me into getting major work done, but instead reassured me and didnt do a hard sell. Later, I decided to get their yearly maintenance system for $130, where they come and check my system twice per year and give discounts on any work needed. They have come and checked (and cleaned) my system twice and I havent had any problems.

The entire process was speedy and smooth. They sent a guy to assess the situation and provide a bid (he came within 3 days of my call to the company and gave me a bid $1000 lower than the other two companies I spoke with); when I called to arrange for the work, they set up an appointment within a week of my call. The two workmen who did all the labor arrived on time, worked smoothly together and finished the entire process (including removing the very scary old furnace through a surprisingly small attic entryway) by 3:30 pm. The total cost was right on target and I was able to take advantage of rebates through the city and the Lennox corporation. I also took advantage of the Strand Bros' own 12 months same-as-cash program. I also want to note that the new machine is nearly silent, compared to the old machines -- which sounded like airplanes landing in my living room.

I decided to use Christian Bros. because of Angie's List. Adam came and described all of the equipment options. He took care of the paperwork for all of the rebates to which I was entitled and scheduled the appointment with the city. The day of installation, there were some issues with getting the unit into my yard; and the guys went above and beyond to make it happen. The team that came to my house was polite, careful and worked really hard and always cleaned up after themselves. I have recommended them to my friends and anyone else I meet who might need heating and AC service.

The repairman called before coming for the scheduled appointment to let us know when he would arrive. He spent time looking over the furnace first and checked the operation carefully. I asked lots of questions (first time to have a furnace in the attic) and he was not put out and willingly provided answers. Checked Air Conditioning unit and answered my questions about that also. Checked unit with testing equipment. As our dryer vent is near the outside unit suggested that we check the fins on the outside unit to make sure lint doesn't build up and affect the operations of the unit. Time spent about 1 hour 15 minutes total.

I was able to get through to Strand Bros without a problem. They were very friendly to deal with on the phone and they came out right away. All employees were nice but they were not able to figure out the problem with the A/C unit. They suggested that maybe we weren't changing the filter often enough. So, with the filter changed they said the problem was fixed. But with the next warm snap a few days later my A/C system once again would not work properly.

Responded fairly quickly to request for quotes. Job was a bit more complex than most due to convection issues in the house but the sales/estimator quickly proposed an energy efficient solution that seemed to have promise solving the problem. The power company inspection was arranged to approve the scope of work for rebate purposes. This occurred with no surprises. Installation team arrived on time and quickly installed protection for home flooring and stairs before beginning work. The installation took two days as specified in the estimate and at the end of each day they cleaned up and removed all signs of work in and around the home. The third day was weatherization. Insulating is a messy business with blown-in insulation but the crew kept the mess to a minimum and cleaned up afterwards. Final utility company inspection went fine.

The story isn't finished. We have contacted the first company who sold us the wrong product but have not heard from them. We contacted Bryant two days ago and hopefully will get a new unit.

We were very pleased with Strand Bros., and wish we had found them years ago. They may not be the cheapest in town, but at least we feel we are getting honest answers, high quality equipment and workmanship, and that we can trust them to take good care of our HVAC from here on out.

Excellent. I continue to use Strand Bros and have been happy every time. I live in California and manage houses in Austin so need reliable contractors. Strand Bros is my heating and a/c company. I love them.

He phoned when he was due to say he would arrive soon. Courteous and pleasant. After inspection he walked in with a yard of tape to repair the air leak into the attic.

I had read a lot of great reports on Angie's List and called because of this. STRAND BROS arranged for a service technician to come out very quickly, he called when he was on his way, and arrived when he said he would. So this part was great. However, once he arrived he was very short with me and would barely listen when I described the problem. After a quick look in the attic, he told me that the duct work was falling apart and I would probably need to replace everything so there was very little he could do. I purchased my house 1 1/2 years ago and had an inspection where nothing was noted in this area so I was surprised everything had fallen apart in one year. He then told me he re-lit something but when I tried to understand the problem, it seemed he couldn't take the time to explain it to me. He got his thermometer, did a heat test and told me everything was fine. The cold air is still blowing and I am now having another company out.

Tom Strand did an evaluation and made recommendations. Four different employees did the work and all were very professional and polite.

Davis explained what the issue was and did a little extra checking. Very good work, we would recommend this outfit to everyone.

I've been with them for 22 years. They are excellent. Their technicians are very professional and conscientious of keeping their work space clean. They are punctual too. They are busy, so it can be hard to get an appointment with them, but they are good!
