It went pretty well, they did the whole job in one day. So far, it has been excellent. Like I said the job went really well, and so far that we've had it I've been happy.

We had three companies prepare quotes for us and Strand was the lowest so we used them for the work. Tom Strand prepared the quote for us and was very professional and scheduled the inspection for the energy company. He quoted the attic insulation at $693 and estimated we would get back $212 in rebates from the City of Austin for that improvement. The insulation crew came on time, but after a few hours of work they called a supervisor. He informed me that Tom had greatly underbid the work for the attic insulation and it was going to cost more for the job to be done right. He did not give me an estimate for the additional work. Since the original bid was $693, I was thinking maybe $200-400 more. He discussed walling off our second knee-wall attic area which could reduce the cost of the job. The next day, I got a call from Tom and he said it was going to cost $1200 more to complete the insulation job, but he was willing to eat $400 of the materials cost. Needless to say, this was an awkward conversation, and after I hung up the phone I was very angry. I was given no detailed explanation about the additional work or costs. My husband was furious and he called Tom who told him we could pay what we thought the additional work was worth. I got a call a few days later from another Strand supervisor and I told him I was very angry because I had gotten three quotes and now the Strand quote was the highest. In addition to the poor communication by Strand, I felt the energy company inspector was incompetent, or he would have noticed that the insulation was greatly underbid. When he came for the inspection, he spent less than five minutes looking in our attics. Another dissapointment was the mess left by the insulation crew. Everything in the bedroom next to where they blew insulation was covered in white powder and it was a huge mess for me to clean up. If they had just used a few dropcloths, the problem could have been prevented. The good news is that our electric bill has dropped almost $200/month from last summer so we are happy with our new system. We were pleased with the quality of the air conditioner and the work, but Strand needs great improvement in their bidding process and communication with the customer.

The technician arrived on time. He was very polite and put on booties before walking into my house. He went into the attic to check the heat pump and then outside to check the air conditioner. All of this was done in an appropriate amount of time and I was given a complete list of each component that was checked, tuned-up and cleaned. Afterward he answered my questions

Strand did a systems check and found the upstairs unit to be not blowing very cool. They performed the job on time and werer careful by covering carpets they had to walk over. They returned 5 days later to check the system and found water in the pan. They thought they fixed it, but I still found more water, so they returned and re-plumbed it. They did not charge for this. I have recommended them to a friend.

They did a great job, and they responded really quickly. They came over fifteen minutes after I called them and on a weekend too. He only charged us for the service call.

I was very satisfied with the work they did for me. They were very good about explaining what they were doing. They also did a follow up on the work they did. They did the job in the time they had told me it would take. They were very easy to work with.

I was concerned I had been duped by another AC company when my air went out on a Friday night. The next morning I called Strand to compare what quote I had been given. Even though it was a Saturday morning, the gal answering the phone was so helpful, I was really impressed. At that point, they weren't even getting the job, and still they were helpful. That nailed it for me. Next, John came out and gave me a good quote. He also was incredibly knowledgeable about the rebates that the City has for weatherizing your home. They were very responsive, professional and eager to make things right. I can see why they get so many accolades. With the rebates, I ended up spending as much as I would have, but got so much more! Their Mom's right... they ARE nice boys!

I had several estimates and was impressed with this company. I like that they give you a free six month "tune-up". They have good follow up service if you have some issues. They give you the option of paying cash or credit. They gave me a discount for using cash. I was extremely pleased with their documentation and proposal. They explained the whole process to me.

They did a very good job. They knew what they were doing. They showed up on time to the appointment. I would hire them again in the future, and recommend them to others.

When they came to my house it was after hours. They were very polite, well trained and we got excellent service. They were also very prompt.

We were very pleased. The technician even helped us locate a coupon for Strand (on-line), waited until it was displayed on our computer screen and credited our invoice, even though our printer was not working and I could not print out the actual coupon. Very accommodating!

From bid to checkout, all employees were professional and helpful. My old unit died during 100 degree days. Work was scheduled for a couple days later, but I was given a window A/C unit to tie me over. There was a snafu after the compressor installation; it was improperly installed. There was a leak and the thermostat was not replaced so the system would run continually and the house wouldnt cool below 80 degrees. When I called to report the problem it was promptly remedied. I cant wait to get my first electric bill to see the savings!

They did duct work and just barely finished. So far they have been extremely courteous and professional, they were very thorough. They were very quick to fix any mistakes.

Strand brothers may be excellent in professionalism but they charge too much! I felt I was being taken for a ride. I have no idea how they were so highly rated in Angie's List.

They are a great company. They are always polite and on time. I would recommend them to anyone for maintenance. I have been using there services for over 5 years.

I called to schedule a check-up on an AC unit in a rental house. The dispatcher told me that they had 3 different techs who did different things (maintenance, repair, tune-up) and was utterly unable to suggest which one would do what I needed, which is to make sure that the tenants' failure to change filters did not cause damage. I won't be calling them again.

They did a good job. They showed up on time to appointments. I would hire them again in the future and I would also recommend them to other people in the future.

They were a good service and very nice people they were very competent and showed up when they said they would and they did everything right and I would recommend them.

We got the estimate. He gave us different options for different levels of air conditioners. He broke everything down so we could understand about rebates and other options. We decided the one we wanted. They did it in the time they said they would, and we were quite pleased.

I had done some research on Angie's List. I was impressed with the solid reports the Strand company received. Mike Leveign was helpful and knowledgeable. The units are quieter and more efficient. I was impressed that it took only one day to remove and install the units. I would recommend them.

Adam, the sales coordinator, was pleasant and professional. He promised to try and get our work order scheduled as soon as possible. Workers arrived a day earlier than promised, which was great, since the a/c broke in mid-summer. The two installers were careful and efficient, taking special efforts with covering carpets and cleaning up any debris caused by removing old equipment. Miguel, in particular, was courteous and helpful, going so far as to sweep up in the attic. A TV cable connection was disrupted during the process, and Miguel spent extra time in the 140-degree attic to find and repair the disconnect. A field supervisor stopped by several times during installation to assure that all was going well. The price was in keeping with what I paid another company 2 years ago for the identical downstairs system. In fact, this company corrected some problems caused by the earlier installation, at no additional cost. I would definitely use this company again and cannot recommend them highly enough.

They are a little hard to contact but their prices were excellent. We did have some problems after the fact: they hadn't installed the drainage system correctly so we eventually ended up with water damage and it took them three visits to completely finish the job. They did eventually get it all fixed but there are still visible signs of their mistake. Overall the experience was marginal, I'm not sure if I'd recommend them to anyone.

Entire process went smoothly. Really enjoyed working with them. We shopped around with 3 major companies and they were several thousand dollars cheaper for comparable system.
