Strand Brothers Service Experts

It was a mixed bag and didn't work out too well. They said they couldn't repair it but they could sell us a new one for $13,000.00. The technician said that it was out of freon. He refueled it and then came in and said that there was a leak. He said that it was going to cost x number of dollars to even find the leak and he seemed like he didn't even want to find the leak. He went on to say that with a heat pump that was 14 years old that you probably couldn't fix it anyway and that we needed to look at getting a new unit. The technician seemed a little disinterested about trying to help us out and more interested in trying to sell us a new unit. We did talk to one of their salespeople and get a quote. We just opted not to go with that at this time.

The price is how much I pay per year, and it's competitive.

My air-conditioning and heating system wasn't working and I wanted to find out why. They were very good and professional. They were on time. I have no complaints about them at all. I just decided not to fix it because it was going to be too expensive.

It was raining the day they came out and before they set one foot in the house they slipped on their nylon shoe covers. I was impressed with their consideration even for tiled entry way to my house. They quickly found the problem, explained why they did each thing they did, fixed it, and left. Very satisfied.

I was prefectly satisfied. They did a general checkup on my AC.

It is cheaper if you pay on a one time basis. They also do some plumbing and I get some discount on that since I have that yearly contract. They are good.

They are a very large company in Austin. We wanted something very green and they provided exactly what we needed at probably a very high price. We have been very happy with the performance of the equipment - it is very quiet and very efficient when compared to what we had when we moved into the house. They were timely and they did very good work. I?ve had no problems. I would rate them highly overall, except for the price, and would use them in the future.

They did a very thorough job addressing our needs and discussing the project with us. Their estimate wasn't the cheapest but it was the most thorough. They were very knowledgeable and we have decided to go with them.

The price was initially close to $8000 but then there were a lot of rebates from the city and the manufacturers. They were very professional. They did what they said they were going to do. There was one issue with them; they damaged the floor a little bit but they corrected their mistake.

There were some service issues, but Strand Brothers followed through on promises to make repairs from a faulty system and poor service. Strand Brothers installed a whole house unit and performed all service under a service contract for 10 years. There were some repeated problems with drain clogging with prompt service calls, but eventually I had a leak through my ceiling due to failure of the backup cutoff switch (unit at 10 years of age). The service repair tech that they originally sent was rude and did not fix the problem after three visits (and three flooding events). Strand switched techs at my request. When I called to complain about the failure of the backup system and repeated flooding due to poor service, they said that they would replace the sheetrock in my ceiling. Meanwhile my whole system failed (age >10 years), and their salesman said that they would not do the replacement work because I did not purchase my new system from them. I was frustrated and ill and did not contact them for some time. When I finally wrote them, they said they wanted to make it right and immediately had someone out and did a beautiful job fixing the ceiling and replacing the affected light fixture. There can always be problems with subcontract labor or employees but the quality of the company, I think, is reflected in their desire to address the situation and make sure the customer is satisfied. I really appreciate the follow-through even after I had replaced my system through another company. I will probably use Strand again when my system needs to be replaced.

Arrived on time. Good manners and clean/neat apperance. Removed the attic units. Installed new units. Removed outdoor unit. Installed new unit. They were friendly and enjoyed their work. Did a high quality job and were gone in about 6 hours. No muss or fuss. Couldn't be happier.

They were professional. They were good all across the board. I will use them again in the future.

Our air conditioner stopped working on a saturday night. On Sunday I called several AC companies that I found on Angies List, most of them charged more for a weekend call - anywhere from a $20 charge to double overtime ($145 an hour!). Strand Brothers did not charge anything additional and had someone out to fix the problem in an hour and a half. He quickly identified the part in our compressor that was broken, replaced it and had us cooling off in no time!

They do very good work and I am pretty happy with their work. The only problem that I had with them was that they did not come on a weekend when I had some problem with the A/C unit and I had to call someone else to take care of it, but, that was just one time so, it is understandable. I think they are a little more expensive than others, but, I do not mind paying them a little extra because they are competent.

I called Strand Brothers on August 11 to fix a leaking A/C unit in the attic of a house that I rent out. The ceiling was discolored from the leak. I explained that I was the owner and the tenants were aware Strand Brothers were called. I also asked that Strand Brothers call me when they knew what needed to be done, so that I could authorize the repairs. No one called. I received a bill for $300, and assumed that the leak was fixed. On Friday, September 4, my tenants called in a panic because the section of discolored ceiling had completely collapsed. I called Strand Brothers, who agreed to send someone out at no charge. I asked again that I be called. This time the technician called and told me that I had a leak. I knew that I had a leak. I asked him what went wrong with the previous repair. He said there was no previous repair. No one did anything but tell me what I already knew: there was a leak. Not only that, but Strand Brothers allowed the leak to continue damaging the ceiling of my house for weeks. No phone call. Nothing. Oh, and the technician couldn't do anything about it on this day either. My tenants would have to wait without A/C through Labor Day weekend. I spoke to a supervisor. Nothing. I asked that the General Manager call me. Nothing yet. Strand Brothers provided worse that bad service. They provided NO service. Not only that, they did not notify me they provided no service, so the damage to my house continued unabated. During this time they billed me $300 for doing nothing other than worsening the situation. Are you listening Strand Brothers?

Strand Brothers did an excellent job replacing my complete heating and air conditioning system. They came on time, worked very efficiently, and cleaned up after themselves such that I couldn't even tell workers had been in the house. They finished earlier than they had estimated. I am very, very happy with the work. I also found their sales and office staff to be friendly, responsive, and professional.

Called and told me serviceman was on his way. He arrived and checked the AC unit and found it was running cold and should be hot. Braker had shut off. Checked freon which was fine. Told me the compressor was bad. The unit is 20 years old so I decided that I would buy a new unit.

When the unit went out, we called Strand Brothers, who had been doing our maintenance for a while. The tech thought he'd fixed the problem by repairing what he thought was a freon leak, but when the cooling went out again w/in 36 hours, we knew we had bigger problems. (We were credited with the amount we spent on this service call.) The unit was 14 years old, so it wasn't a total surprise. John Williams came out & presented various options to us, & we made our choices & set up an installation date. In part, we stayed w/ Strand because they are consistently rated so highly on Angie's List. A rep from their office called the day before to confirm the date of installation, the team showed up, & got everything done very quickly & neatly. A supervisor came & checked out the work, then about a week later the company's quality control manager came out to inspect, also. We continue to be pleased with the Lennox unit we chose, & with the professionalism & competence of everyone at Strand Brothers.

Strand had good marks on Angie's list, so I called them. The appointment was about a week out. They carried the equipment I was interested in and the price seemed ok. It wasn't their primary line so it took another week to get the unit in. Installation went pretty well. I had to ask them to patch some air leaks that they left in the ducts in the attic. They helped with the paper work for the energy rebate programs. And they scheduled a followup inspection a couple of weeks after the work was done and paid for. Everyone was professional and showed up on time.

As the time grew nearer to the close of the scheduled arrival time, I called Strand Brothers. A receptionist told me that someone had called and cancelled the appointment. There was no way this could have happened. I am the only one here. She called back and said someone would come by around 6 pm after another job was completed. That too was a no show. All around bad experience.

They were on time and were professional. I have actually referred them to my friends. There was two weeks delay in the work.

The reason I chose them was because the people doing the estimate seemed competent and they had a good recommendation on Angie?s List. They did a good job too.

I have already recommended them to a friend. Their punctuality and quality of work is good. They give good follow-up. Everything was good. They vacuumed and cleaned up after themselves.

They seem to know what they are doing. They are punctual and stay clean by using booties over their shoes upon entering your home.

It's proven to be a really good unit at a really good price. I find them to be responsive and their products are good. You go in to buy a filter and they're very helpful. I've not had a bit of trouble with the unit and they haven't tried to up-sell me in anyway.
