It was under warranty so it didn't cost anything. They didn't charge anything and they shouldn't have. Generally the experience has been positive. I had used them previously. They responded within two days. They would have been there faster but they had to synchronize with my schedule because I had to be there. They were very professional.

They responded quickly on a 100 degree day. My issue is they then had my cell number and call frequently to let me know about a promotion. I really do not like being solicited, which is why I marked them down on professionalism. They did a good job though.

The above states my experience. I think if something just doesn't feel right about the serviceman just very respectfully end the session. And don't feel pressured to buy extended service contracts.

Sales Engineer surveyed the home indicating problem areas that were contributing to hot and cold rooms. He prepared a quotation with several options to select from. We selected the work we wanted done and they booked a crew in within a week. The crew arrived on time, surveyed the area and placed carpet and floor protection down. Within a few hours the old material had been removed and the work started on the new plenum and runs. The helper did the first floor sealing as well as run materials to the tech in the attic. Both were very pleasant, explained the work they were doing and did a very professional job. When options were possible, they sought our input before implementing the solution (weather stripping colors, etc). When finished, they cleaned everything up and explained that adjustments were included for the year to get the system balanced for all seasons.

They are outstanding! I like their customer service and their thoroughness. We have used them for the last 4 years and we are pleased with them!

Called at 9:30 am. Technician arrived at 10:30 am and was finished by 11:00am. Really appreciate the promptness! Tech was very professional and articulate. He gladly accepted my Angie's coupon.

They did a good job. The price was reasonable.

The technicians have answered all my questions, and responded to my suggestions. As a service group, they have done as well or better than any others during my lifetime of home ownership in Austin (about 45 years). I have seen no reason to change to another HVAC service firm. They did one plumbing job for us about one to two years ago, but it was just a simple replacement of an outdoor faucet. That faucet, while rather expensive, is still working well and is of better quality than other outdoor faucets I've had installed. They have always kept their appointments with us, sometimes calling to ask if they could arrive sooner rather than later. We have had no surprises.

I used these people because they had good remarks. I have called them and I am still waiting for some of them; to comeback and give me, a pricing on what they are going, to do. The guy who came out here; honestly and truthfully, he was ridiculous. He walked into the house and immediately came up with a ridiculous price. He was very unprofessional and terrible. In making an effort to give me a quote; all he did was to write, some crazy number on his card and left. He said that it was going to cost me some money for the work that had to be done; and, every other trip he was going to make out here, it was going to cost me more money. It sounded more like, he was not really interested in the work and so he’ll throw some quote out there; it was not good. I was not very happy with him and thought they would be a lot better than what they were. They were responsive and courteous when I called in. They sent the information over the phone, had somebody getting all the details and did all of that. The guy that came out here was not really interested, in this. He was there on time and was not professional. I have already thrown their information that I printed out from Angie’s List away and so have I thrown his card, away.

The technicians seemed knowledgable and friendly. Too bad they completely misdiagnosed the problem...or did they? From what I hear, the safety switch is supposed to be one of the first things these guys check...

Last August 29th, our A/C compressor died during one of the hottest Texas summers on record. After a call to Service Experts (formerly Strand Brothers), a technician was out the same day to assess the system and determine if it could be fixed. Unfortunately that was not the case. The technician, was very professional and thorough and tried everything to "jump start" the system but that was not going to happen. I was frustrated and hot as it was 90 degrees in the house. It is a hopeless situation and you feel like the company may have you over a barrel but yet, it was obvious the system would need replacing. The technician did not deal in new systems but did contact their sales department who said that Alex S. would be in the area that evening and would arrange for him to come buy to discuss options. Alex arrived approximately 8:30 PM and spent over an hour reviewing systems available and the size required for our house, efficiency, the Austin Home Audit program (which was required) and of course pricing. Let me point out that Alex had been at this very same thing all day long and still had two more families to talk to that evening, needless to say he was hot and tired as well but very patient, knowledgeable, and professional and took the time to answer all of our questions. We were impressed with the technician who had been there earlier and equally impressed with the salesman and after agreeing to a price and a discussion about the significant rebates that would be available not to mention the savings on out heating and cooling bills due to improved efficiency, we decided to purchase a Lenox system for Services Experts. True to Alex' s word, they had a crew out the next morning to install the new system and get it up and running so at least we were cool. This crew was at the top of their game and replaced the entire system quickly and efficiently. We couldn't have asked for better service. Then they followed up the following week to seal existing ducts and add new ducts to the kitchen and master bedroom with an additional air return. Alex kept in touch and returned to make sure everything was completed to our satisfaction and then arranged for the Austin Energy audit. Again, Alex was there when the auditor arrived several weeks later and together they went through the entire house and system and thanks to the Service Experts crew and Alex, the house passed inspection and we were approved for significant rebates from Texas Gas and the City of Austin Utilities which helped offset a significant portion of the new system. Service Experts followed up later in December to make sure everything was functioning as it should. Kudos to everyone at Service Experts for coming through when we felt like our backs were against the wall. I would highly recommend them for service and or total replacement.

They are very prompt and were able to get to my house very quickly. They are very respectable, seem to know what they are doing, and explained everything.

The workmen arrived on time and were very thorough and efficient in their job. We have had no complaints so far!

They were great they came out on Christmas eve.

I purchased and Angie's list deal, and they were fine to work with. They forgot to calibrate a toilet, so it kept running, til my husband fixed it. I have had plumers out here before, they rolled out cloth to walk on through the house and they didn't. They made me feel really bad about the pluming fixture I had bought and all the desiction I had made through out the house on pluming. They really made me feel bad. I would only use them again if I had a coupon.

Repairman showed up right on time as scheduled. Had called about 20 minutes before arriving to let me know they were on the way. As the repairman inspected my system he noticed a small issue with my thermostat (Which I put in myself a few years ago when the house was built) He said the thermostat was ok but that I might think about upgrading to something better. He suggested a few brands I could get at LOWES or one in particular called NEST off the internet. repairman gave me a few other pointers, told me about a service plan they had that would save me money almost $50 dollars. i did sign up for it so now my Summer AC check up is paid for. I felt they were honest and professional.

The drain stopped up in our upstairs HVAC unit, the service tech showed us that the heating unit was around 18 yrs old, rusty and would probably not make it through the winter. We knew the units were old and decided to replace both the Heating & AC units with high efficiency units ($6,443). The salesman seemed knowledgable about HVAC systems, energy efficient measures that his company performed and he was up to date on rebates & tax credits for energy efficient improvements. He explained that if we added insulation ($965) & building/duct sealing ($1,453) we would qualify for additional rebates from the utility company & tax credits that would help offset the cost. We agreed because it seemed like we would receive rebates for improvements that would save $$ on our utilities & they were able to get us 0% interest for 12 months. The process took longer than we thought the estimate was provided on 11/3/11 The units were installed on 11/28/11 and the insulation & building/duct sealing was done the following week on 12/7/11 with final inspection on 12/20/11. We understand that part of the delay was because the city inspector had to come out before the work was started & again after all work was complete. We received $200 rebate from Lennox in December, however as of 1/18/12 we are still waiting for the other rebates. Do look over the paperwork & ask lots of questions make sure you understand costs & rebates. Looking back we should have asked more questions & looked at the paperwork more closely. I've gone over the paperwork several times & I'm not sure how much we will be receiving in rebates & from where. Do make sure they are replacing only the equipment you want replaced. We should have noticed that they included a new thermostat, the one they removed was programmable, easier to use & less than 2 yrs old. Don't spend money on things you can do yourself. We also could have used the $1453 towards the cost of replacing our single pane windows instead of paying someone to replace door insulation & seal ductwork. Live and learn I guess. All in all the people we dealt with were courteous and professional the units are working great I'll find out this summer if spending all this money is going to pay off in reduced utility bills.

They are excellent and their service is wonderful. I will use them again in the future.

They were great and very responsive. They were very easy to deal with and not like a lot of people who come to your house and get a lot of stuff wrong. These guys were really on the ball.

First, Davis Service is now Christian Brothers A/C and Plumbing as it appears that the company has been sold. I was told this after the service representative arrived. They no longer do time and material work but give a quote on total price. Had to call back to shop to find out how much to charge as the new price manual didn't seem cover the installation of the hard pipe. Sight un-seen the guy at the shop said they get about $130 to $150 (per system) for that type of work. The service guy showed up with a minimum of parts to do the type of work that was requested. Had to go to parts store to get material. Once he got started, it took 20 minutes to complete the work on the first heater and 10 minutes to complete the work on the second heater. Total price was $250. Parts used consisted of 4 short pieces of pipe and two elbows. Based on the time and material it took, this was really over priced. They gave a window of time when they would show up and actually got here early. They called before they got there, and the technician did what appeared to be good work.

They want $69 for a service charge just to do a quote. Other plumbers do not have this charge. Even though this gets applied to the final bill if I use their service, this is hefty bill to pay to know what the overall project will cost.

I called to get an estimate from this company. There were not interested in either hearing what my problem was or answering my questions. Every one of my questions was answered succinctly and immediately followed by an attempt to force me to accept an appointment. If they want my business they will need to learn to care about their customers.

Overall, the experience always goes well. We had some problems initially, but they were extremely prompt in sending someone out to identify and fix the problem immediately.

Great I just think it was expensive
