5 years ago they came out and installed our pool and hot tub. Pump had to be replaced for pool and hot tub pumps needed to replaced twice. Had other pool experts come in and said the whole way they set up the hot tub was incorrect; Heater also broke after 3 years; subcontractor for patio work horrible too and very unreliable (Distinction Decks)

Quoted $1200 but luckily found out that with labor job was more like $2000 before the technician started the work. Had to pay for a service call. not a terrible company but you should get any estimate in writing. Leslie pools was quoting about $1200 for the entire job with same pump.

Unfortunately due to an unrelated emergency, we were unable to commit to the project. We will likely return to Gary Pools in the future to complete our plans.

Terrible experience. Supervisor of crew is only on-site for about 15 minutes, then leaves and that is when the errors occur. 1. Tile installed incorrectly and had to be done again, still has one tile upside down. 2. Stained concrete dropped into pool, causing massive staining to walls. 3. They don't realize staining is due to excessive metal from the stain, and believe they can simply acid wash the walls. It took me two years to figure out it was the metal residue in the water causing the stain, and I fixed it myself. I would expect that pool "experts" would have been able to figure this out. 4. In trying to get rid of the stain, they empty water from the pool and crack the bottom of the pool in two places. Again, supervisor that could have easily detected water was under the pool, and stopped the emptying, was not on site. 5. Drilled holes into the bottom of pool to get water out. So now I have four very visible defects in the bottom of my pool. Keep in mind, I have yet to even get in the pool and enjoy a swim. 6. I attempted to get a partial refund from the owner and was unsuccessful. I felt that since I paid for a "new" pool and got a pool with four very obvious defects that could be easily seen from the opposite side of the pool; I should pay a much reduced rate. Instead, I get a guarantee on the pool and extended warranty. 7. Repaired crack opens up the next year. (2012) and again in (2014). Repairs are brown and I have a light blue bottom, so it is extremely noticeable. 8. I have to repeatedly call and pester them to get stuff done. Go elsewhere for a pool. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Sales staff was knowledgeable about their product and eager to please. They promptly turned around an initial concept after taking measurements at our house and were very willing to make modifications per our request. I felt the construction material and methods were top of the line, however, the few points that caused me to go with another company were the use of salt technology in the pool (personal choice for me, I was concerned about the potential corrosion and damage to pool surfaces) and they were a bit disparaging and misinformed about their competition (this might have been an effect of me being very up front about soliciting multiple bids from other local companies).
If I were looking for a salt-pool, or had a close contact ask for recommendations, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gary Pools.

They really did not have what we were looking for. They just seem to be more worried about selling me what they wanted to sell me instead of selling me what I wanted.
