I highly recommend Dr. Cool & Professor Heat, I used them for several years and have been 100% satisfied. Their A/C technicians are wonderful and extremely knowledgeable. I've found them to be very reasonable and not pushy to sell you something just to make a sale. Jason came out for our regular fall maintenance and found some leaks where the air was escaping into the attic and fixed the problem. He answered all my questions and explained how the unit worked and what might be needed down the road.
They raised the outside unit on a cement block and cinder blocks. Locking caps were put on the outside unit.
In the middle of this project we had a clogged drain line with pooling water in our attic (separate from the project). These guys came right out and fixed the problem quickly. It wasn't an easy fix but they stuck with it. They were not quick to tell us something had to be replaced.
Every person that has come out to work on our project has been professional, polite, on time and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this company!
As the temperature was erratic in our condo, the original of the 3 service calls was focused on replacing the thermostat which was evidently not recording the temperature well (original $425 service call). However, the A/C continued to cool sometimes, and not others which resulted in a second service call shortly thereafter ($89) where no issues could be found. A final service call ($454) occurred a few weeks after that and it was determined that we needed a compressor saver as the real issue was identified as being the compressor's inability to restart after the desired temp had been reached and the A/C had shut down. The service professional was very nice and highly responsive and the office staff was also very helpful. They got the job done, and the A/C does work now. The only area of disappointment is that it required as many trips as it did, which resulted in multiple service charges. All in all, I ended up paying a few hundred more than I probably should have based on the # of times someone had to come out.
