City Tree Service

They trimmed some trees in the back. 4-5 technicians came out. They were efficient, organized, and knowledgeable. They gave me good advice and I was pleased with the service. I was surprised with the amount of work they did.

Outstanding! Backyard trees hadn't been worked in over 20 years. They came early, evaluated everything and got straight to work. Did everything I asked and more. They worked hard and finished up the next day. Cleaned up the yard of all debris, leaves, trimmings etc. I am TOTALLY satisfied.

Jason and his crew trimmed two large live oaks. The trees have grown together to provide one canopy and they had not been trimmed for several years. Jason was very knowledgeable about the trees and what was needed to keep the trees healthy. The entire crew was very professional. They originally thought they could complete the project in one afternoon, but later realized that they would need to return to finish the job. That impressed me because Jason didn't try to rush the job. He was all about the quality of the work. There was no additional charge for them to come out another day. The trees look great and I will use City Tree Service in the future.

Overall I was very happy with the service.

Trimmed two trees that were encroaching on our neighbors and removed a broken branch from high up in an oak tree. They are very good at what they do. They cleaned up completely when they were finished going so far as blowing off the clutter from our driveway.

I used an Angie's coipon, but I have 10 trees on my lot and several smaller bushes. They executed very well over 2 days, (after the rain stopped). They clean all the mess and hauled it away. They were courteous, punctual and considerate.

It turned out well. They did good work. They weren't not as professional as I would have liked. When your talking about tree work I asked if he was licensed because I don't want anyone falling out of my tree and he said yes they were licensed. I spent an additional $75 with them. I wound up paying him twice and when I asked him back for the money he had a heated look on his face but he eventually gave it back.

The original Big Deal was for $400 worth of tree trimming for $199 with no specifics as to what $400 worth of service might be and required 3 preferred service dates. None of those were available. I received a call from City Tree and set up a date. They later called back and slipped the date one week. Due to equipment problems that date was cancelled and rescheduled. On that date there was a slight shower in the early AM with rain forecast so they called and wanted to reschedule to another day when the weather was better. They called this morning and indicated they would show by early afternoon. They arrived at about 2:15 PM, looked at the job and indicated it would cost a lot more. I did not want to spend more at this time so the deal was cancelled. I feel this type of deal with X amount of service for Y amount will often if not always lead to a disagreement as to the value of the job and that Angie's List is as responsible for problems as the service provider. My F rating should be viewed in this regard.

It went fantastic. they showed up on time and did the work I asked them to do so it was great. They came out a little after I called them and I didn't spend anything other than the cost of the deal.

It turned out fine. They ended up fine. He ended up charging me additional money because what I needed done exceeded the $400 that it was supposed to be worth so I was charged $150 more. They did a good job. I had it done previously and the total was $400 and they did much much more so I would say they were overpriced. Their responsiveness was excellent. They were fine. Their trailer put stuff on my neighbor's yard and he wasn't really happy but they did take it off. I had mentioned it to the owner and he had it removed on the guy's property. It was just a tarp and a couple of items, it wasn't anything major.

On September 24, 2013 I purchased a Big Deal coupon from Angie's List that was to provide $400 worth of tree service for $199. The referred contractor, City Tree Service, contact: Jason Grube was supposed to contact me within 3-4 days, which did not happen. Instead I had to contact the company on or after September 30, 2013 and set up an appointment on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 10:00 am for the tree service. He (Jason) showed up 35 minutes late (btw, no apologies rendered for his tardiness). I showed him the trees (3) that I needed to have trimmed. He stated that he couldn't do it within the $400 Angie's List Big Deal coupon. He tried to "up sell me" on additional work to be paid in addition to and well above the Angie's List "Big Deal" of $400 dollars worth of Tree Service for $199. I declined and stated that I would simply stick with the $400 for $199 tree service. I asked him to show me what the $400 coupon would purchase, and he pointed out he could cut 4 limbs off 1 tree! I agreed for him to perform what he pointed out. He stated that he had to go and dump his trailer which he claimed was full of brush (which i found odd because according to him, I was the first job of the day). He stated that he would be back in approx. 1 hour. He called back at approx. 1:30 pm (2.5-3 hours later ) to say that he was having vehicle problems and would arrive in about 30-40 min. I started calling him after 2pm (3 to 4 times up until 3:50pm) to attempt to get an estimate on his time of return. Jason never answered the phone calls and he never returned! He didn't even give me the professional courtesy of a phone call to say that he wasn't coming back---or to reschedule the tree service. What a disappointment! And what a waste of my time---wasted a Saturday waiting on this guy! City Tree Service's "bait and cut" deals are not worth it. ***Dear Angie's List Rep: in cases such as these----what happens to the customer (me)? I purchased the $199 Big Deal Coupon but the vendor stood me up. What type of remedy is there for me? Thanks in advance for the guidance and thanks for the opportunity to share my experience so that others can be informed/avoid the experience.

It worked out very well. He did a very good job.

They arrived promptly and "asked" me what I needed done and proceeded to do "exactly" what I asked of them. They cleaned up the debris and asked me if the job was done correctly and asked if there was anything more they could do. They even hung my bird feeders and waters back high in the trees! EXCELLENT JOB! EXCELLENT PRICE!

My first service appointment to trim some trees was set for 17 October (a clear day); however, when the lady (Jeanette?) called to say they had to reschedule because of rain three days before and that they had to work those cancelled due to rain first. We rescheduled for 31 Oct as I was out of town until 28 Oct. When I returned I found a message to call them to reschedule earlier. We agreed to the afternoon of 30 October and I was told that she would call at noon to confirm the time. On the 30th, at 1:00pm I called City Tree Service as I had not heard from them. I was told by Jeanette that that were "soaked and that they would show up "tomorrow at our 10:00am." I noted that it was clear at my location but they had already sent their workers home. Note: It was sunny at my location all afternoon and didn't have any rain until 9:00pm. At about 9:30am on 31 October she called to tell me they wouldn't be out and they needed to reschedule again. After a brief conversation someone about today's forecasted clear weather she told me that they only received $90.00 and Angie's List got the rest (hard to believe). At that point a man, I believe named Jason, got on the phone and started arguing with me about the wet trees and yesterday's forecast. At that point I asked about next week even though there is rain forecasted for the first part of the week. He said we would have to reschedule again if that happened (as if I couldn't figure that one out). I told him that I wanted my money back and he HUNG UP the phone.

It wasn’t a full clean up, but it got the branches away from my roof line which is what I was looking for. It was great! They were very helpful and just very pleasant to work with.

We purchased the Big Deal from City Tree Service and although we had scheduled their service visit for Friday afternoon, they had a vehicle problem and difficulty completing previously scheduled jobs. They called, explained the situation and agreed to come the following Tuesday, which they did. They arrived promptly, brought adequate numbers of workers for the task, and set to work after talking (and listening) carefully to our desires. We asked them for additional tree-maintenance services, which they were happy to do, and charged a reasonable price for them. They returned after the job was completed to make sure all the cleanup was fully performed and to make sure all areas of our oaks that had been trimmed or cut were sprayed with sealant to make sure no beetles could attack the trees. The owners were a delight to work with and I am more than a little satisfied by the wonderful appearance of my yard now that the trees have been so professionally cared for. I would recommend City Tree Service without any reservation.

Overall it went well. We did have to call them back to remove some of the saw dust left by grinding down one of the tree stumps.

We received code citation for trees hanging to over street. I purchased a coupon for City Tree Service. We had 10 days from citation date to comply. The lady scheduled me for the end of the month which was way past the due date. This was fine because we had other work which needed to be done.. I explained our situation and by the end of the week on a Friday afternoon, City Tree Service came and trimmed our trees!! They are an awesome, professional team. They completed the code cutting and cleaned up. They are #1in my book. We really appreciate their understanding and taking it upon themselves to help us out!!

They were on time and did the work as promised, but I didn't feel as though they did $400 worth of work since they only cut a few branches. Furthermore, we had to clean up some of the debris that had fallen from the roof later that evening.

The guys did a very nice job of lifting the branches of my two trees. They actually arrived earlier than promised and took care of things in a prompt and professional manner. I would definitely use them again.

Set appt. directly with the vendor and later over the phone said he had to delay my appt. because both of his trucks and his trailers all broke down at once and he needed to get them all fixed. The time frame from the original appt. date to the time he showed up was approx. one week. During that week's delay the city had done its brush pick up in my area. The original appt. was set up by me for no later the Friday before the Monday that the city was to be picking up brush in our neighborhood and he could just leave the branches by the street for city pick up. When he told me that all his equipment was broken down I asked if he could borrow a truck, and meet the original appt. date. He could leave the branches on my curb for the city to pick up--no can do he said. The day before he showed up I noticed that the same vendor had a new lower priced deal for the same amount of work and I asked him for the better priced deal. He said for the new pricing he could not change it and for me to call Angie's List for the price change. I called Angie's List and they told me they quote what the vendor tells them to quote and they will try to contact the vendor to get the current coupon pricing. After about 2 weeks Angie's List called me and told me that their many calls about this matter to the vendor, the vendor never returned their calls. Angie's List said they will keep trying to get in contact with the vendor, but I told them to just forget about it, I am tired of fooling around with the issue.

Very well. I would use them again. Would reccomend them to other people.

We had 4 trees that hadn't been pruned for some time and when we saw City Tree Services coupon on line we decided to take advantage of it and get our trees a little TLC.They where great to work with and did a fantastic job. They came when they said that they would, did a nice job on the trees and cleaned up completely after themselves. They also answered some questions that we had about the trees. We are planning on having them back again.......
