Description of Work: We have a roof leak. I called last Friday and Steve was to call me back. No call. Called again on Monday and was called back by Eric. He came out on Tues. and found the problems. I recieved a estimate and an explanation of what need to be done. He was to come on Friday. Finally called the office and talked to Amber again. She said we were not on the schedule but would call Eric. He called and said they were running late, but would come out on Sat. Guess what! No Show again! I am fed up and plan to find another roofer.

Description of Work: I had fascia replaced due to animals eating through the wood. I was quoted what I thought was a fair price because I had a cement tile roof and the contractor said they would have to take off the lower rows to remove the old fascia and put up new hardi plank boards. They didn't remove any tile and completed the job in just under a few hours. I think it was about 50 feet for over $1200. I was refunded $100 after stating my irritation at what I thought was misrepresentation by the person giving me the quote.

+ -1 moreThey show up exactly when they are supposed to and do exactly what they are supposed to do, and I have never had a problem with them. They've gone up during scorching temperatures. I highly recommend them. I don't even get bids from other companies, because I just know they are going to do the right thing.
Description of Work: We had a squirrel that had eaten through part of the roof, which started leaking. He went up and replaced the wood and flashing and did a wonderful job. We have used them for years for all our roofing repairs.

I chose Four Star due to a balance of price, reputation, and my perception of the quality they could deliver. Tom Nelson performed the estimate and overall job oversight. He delivered a competent and competitive price estimate and was very helpful in choosing from the various options avaliable to us. He clearly knows his business and is very good with customer relations and communication. The roofing crew was excellent. The same 8-man crew worked both properties and did exceptional work on both. They were punctual, courteous and polite which was particularly important at my residence. My wife repeatedly mentioned how comfortable she felt with these workers. They worked roughly 12 hours per day during one of the hottest weeks on record here in Houston and they never missed a beat. They took appropriate breaks to ensure they were not getting heat stress and they worked the entire seven day period without injury or incident. They did very well with protecting our shrubs, air conditioners, and pool as well as returning the gutters and gutter-covers to their pre-job condition. Each day they picked up their tools, cleaned the property thoroughly, and swept for nails. The final product is excellent in every way with the flashing work standing out as some of the best I have seen. All in all this was a great experience for us.
Description of Work: Four Star replaced the roofing systems on two houses, one of them my primary residence and another an investment property. They removed the old shingles and paper, repaired decking as needed, then installed GAF High Definition lifetime shingles on both properties. They fully replaced flashing, drip edge, and roof penetrations. All shingles were hand nailed with six nails per shingle. The investment property was a relatively straight-forward single story job. Our residence is a two story tudor-style home with a complicated roof including many ridges and valleys, lots of step flashing(2 chimneys and four skylights), and some very steep deck surfaces.

+ -1 moreFour Star Roofing had good pricing. They messed up an area near the dining room. I think they had a very bad quality workman ship. All they did was come back and put a piece of wood over the damaged area to fix it. They had also damaged the siding above the dining room window. They worked in the dark in the rain, and I didn't like that. They didn't have any lights up there or anything. They were careless of my shubbery. I was afraid they were going to break a window. They were like maniacs. It was completely out of hand. I was really upset with them. They didn't use much regards for my house.
