The service went fine. The price was reasonable. He was very professional, courteous, and made sure the job was done correctly.

Contractor came out, gave me an estimate, did half of the job after running into issues, was rude to hired help, and had to cancel other part of the job, and did not give me a referral to another contractor.

30 year old house. Water leak caused a lot of damage around shower/bathtub area. Almost entire shower stall box had to be reframed. John takes a lot of pride in getting it done right. He does all the work himself(except for a single helper that he hires for the heavy lifting) so you don't have a variety of people in and out of the house. Since he does all the work himself he is personally accountable for all the work done. There is no "blame the sub" game. He is meticulous about getting the job done right and communicating with me about when he will be in and out of the house. Anyone who has dealt with remodel work knows there is no way to rush it. John would work until it was an appropriate stopping point(as late as 7pm) so little things like paint matched up well. I would use him again and recommend him to anyone.

I have used John several times for various small and large projects. This replacing the front porch was a major project, all the stone had to be removed and all new framing was built to support the new stone steps and siding. We met John to pick out the stone and his insight was very useful in helping us decide on the type and color to use we ended up with two different types and colors of stone. His suggestions on the layout of the stone and color of the grout made a big difference in how it all turned out. John has always comes up with good ideas on the projects he has done for us. He is very professional and we will use him on more projects in the future.

called and talked to John about my ordeal, made an appointment which was kept. He even called before hand to make sure i would be home. He explained my options and walked me thru every step of the process. Showed up at the scheduled time for the work and kept a clean work area. I was very pleased with his work.

John did a fantastic job from start to finish. Provided quote exactly when he promised. Quote was thorough. He started when he said he would. His quality of work was top notch! He pays complete attention to details. Overall, it could not have been a better experience. He's very talented at what he does. John does what he says he will do and his prices are very reasonable. We were very pleased and are having him lay new floors in a few weeks. Could not give a higher recommendation for a handy man.

I thought it was a little pricey for the service he performed. I agreed to have him do the work based on an agreement we made over the phone that he would provide an additional service once he was here, without knowing what that was. I decided, after speaking with him, that I would have him change the elbow on an outdoor faucet. After he completed the light, he said he didn't bring the tools needed to change the elbow. He was on time, prompt, and courteous.

Wonderful to work with and did great work. Very professional and didn't leave a mess to clean up like most contractors do. Highly recommend John.

He is very professional and does exactly what he is contracted to do in a timely manner. His work was just great. He may not be the least expensive contractor, but I gave him an A because he did not deviate from the quoted price. I will definitely call him again in the future for more work if I need it.

He was very professional and very thorough. We had a lot of contact with him because we kept having to reschedule because of rain but otherwise it was fine. He was very good.

The movement of bathroom fixtures caused the time frame to be extended with more work than originally thought. Our home is a 1960 model so as always nothing was level, plumb or where it was supposed to be. John greeted each task and roadblock professionally and completely! Window were replaced in Baths and bedroom both baths were stripped, new floors, new tub and showers (tile) new cabinets, refinished cabinets, new glass shower doors one frameless. John was very exacting in all areas of workmanship. The plumbing, granite, electrical and glass was subcontracted. Bathrooms look and function great. Very well done. The kitchen was a wreck repapered repainted and redone for 50 years,, What fun he had. New granite countertops new double oven new vent hood new undermount sink. The cabinets were in a bad state, solid, but looks rough. This man took theses cabinets apart, sanded inside and out refinished and rehung the fronts and doors with new hardware and they look great and are once again extremely functional. Both baths and kitchen sport a new paint job which was very professionally done. Although never pushed John offered his ideas on better ways of accomplishing our goal. The financial aspect of this project was always addressed before any deviation from the original quote was implemented. Affordable Remodeling did a great job for us,

It did not go. Would have loved to have heard back. Not sure why we did not.

John really knows his stuff and has great skills. I'm especially impressed with the woodworking he did to replace some damaged window sills and repair damaged door frames. Also did a wonderful job installing a new console-style bathroom basin. I will definitely call on him again if I should need more work done.

John is very professional, he arrived on time for the estimate and on time on the day he did the work. He did a great job, very clean, and my bathroom looks like new! I am very happy with his work, and I will be calling him again. I will recommend him to everybody, he is truly the best handyman I have every worked with.

Very sloppy job, deck looks like termites got into the wood there are so many holes in the boards. Deck not even where he replaced one board, the deck sticks out unevenly at one end. John had to come back out the next day as he had left some places undone and nails sticking up in places (very dangerous).

On to Phase 2. John was as good as he was on the first go around. He only had a helper for 4 days during removal of siding and start of installation of new siding, the rest of the time he worked alone through some brutally hot days. Some days he stayed until 6:30 or 7 to get where he wanted to be on the job. He put off spray painting until the wind was low enough to prevent over spray and used multiple spray guards to keep paint off the brick and roof shingles. I appreciate his strong work ethic and the quality of his work. If I need anything done in the future I won't hesitate to use him again.

John was fast and orderly. He would give us a start time every day and if he was going to be delayed he would text or call. He knew exactly what had to be done in the correct order. When working on the sheetrock around our bathroom skylight,he completely incased the shower stall in plastic and covered anything else nearby with drop cloths. He swept and vacuumed at the end of every section of the project. The work is beautiful and he takes pride in his work. We already have him set up for what we're calling Phase 2 for next week.

I had spoke with John about other projects when he completed my last job in March. Just like last time as he got into the deck repairs that we discussed he found extensive damage to the framing. His repairs consisted of replacing main support columns anb beams building new steps in place of the old damaged ones, repaired, grouted and replaced slate on deck as needed, pressure washed and sealed entire upper and lower deck, pressure washed and repaired front steps, added ventillation to crawl space to allow moisture to escape, replaced Hardiplank as needed and painted. Just as in the previous job John was prompt courteous and professional and kept in contact at each phase of the repairs.

The project went from a three day job to a 10 day job because of all the damage that was found after removing the door, siding and ceiling. I was kept informed of every issue and the repairs were completed very professsionally. John is a very straight shooter and was upfront about cost and my options. His opinions and explanations on what were the best solutions was appreciated. The repairs had to be done quickly because after the door and framing was removed he had to board up the hole and immediately get a crew to determine the extent of the damage. Overall we are very pleased.
