SMITH HEATING & AIR COND

My A/C stopped cooling on a blazing hot Texas day on the 31st of August. I called a home warranty company that insures my home for repairs and they assigned Smith Heat/AC from Killeen to do the repairs. They called back and said that they could get to it until Tuesday because of the weekend and Holiday and I said we have small children living here and needed service A.S,A.P. and the lady taking the call, said to contact my warranty company again and state that it was an emergency, so they would get paid for weekend rates and I made the call and she later assured me that she got the new fax and a repairman would get out there that evening. Before he showed up, my son (heating and A/C specialist) came over and found a fan motor wire had fallen into the fan and rewired it and replaced a condenser that had failed due to the excessive heat. The unit started cooling again, but very slowly. He didn't have his gauges to check the freon, but saw bubbles in the sight glass. The repairman showed up and after talking to my son, checked the freon and said it was fine and suggested cleaning the coils, but he couldn't do it because maintenance was not covered. I paid him my $45.00 deductible and he wrote down that "HE" repaired a low voltage wire and condenser stating that he had to include that to get "His money". Now a week later, his company has sent me a bill for $50.00, account my warranty company wouldn't pay for the weekend rate. I tried to explain to Mr. Greg Smith that perhaps they were working off the original service call before I made the second call and his call service assured me that everything was O.K for the repairs. He was rude over the phone and handled the situation very unprofessionally, saying that he would no longer return to my home for any repairs. I told him, he was no longer allowed on my property and I was not paying the $50.00. I now have the second letter in hand from the warranty company that should straighten out the billing, but I will be sure to inform them that this company isn't trustworthy and is billing them for repairs that they did not actually do. Do youself a favor and "DON'T" let these un-professionals work for you.
