I ordered a plumbing test. They didn't complete the test, due to technical difficulty. They provided no value from this test due to failure to complete, but still charged me an arm and a leg for it. After a difficult phone call with the owner, he eventually lowered my $350 charge by $50. Later on I found out a reputable plumbing company in Crowley only charges $175, for the exact same test. Larry Stinson charges almost 200% compared to another company which has way better reviews than Larrys. I compared price for 3 different jobs, Larry consistently charges a lot more. Plumber Jon and Jaime was knowledgeable and nice, but the owner is hard to work with, argumentative, combative, and all about money. I will not use this company again.

They arrived at my home at the time stated.  The gray water line wasn`t draining into the septic tank.  His plumber  got his cleaning cable out and ran it through the line twice  and opened the line  so that the flow now runs into the septic tank.  Was at the house less than one hour.

He was by far not the lowest priced bid I received however i believe some were seriously low balled. Also seemed more knowledgable and actually went over what was needed to complete task. When time came to move plumbing everything went pretty smooth although he had an assistant doing to work. On return to do actual installation of the tub, sink & toilet, items were installed, however not thrilled with their inability to install the pipes so that there were not huge gaps between the wall or floor and the escutcheons covering the connections. The toilet was no problem. Note; Larry sent same assistant to do the install, Larry Stinson came by to lend a hand every once in a while. I found one leak and the assist came back out and took care of it. Overall I do not believe there was enough experience with this type of install, i.e, clawfoot tub with exposed hardware(not hidden inside a wall). However, Larry does good, work other than mentioned. He runs a professional, family owned, business. He seems to have good skills also to do slab work if the need arises for slab leaks and the like.

He wasn't able to make it out to me in the time frame that I needed because he was already on a job. His wife called around and looked for different prices for parts for me. She checked his schedule and gave me information over the phone. She was very knowledgeable and very pleasant.

it didn't take Larry long to diagnose the hose bib problem and he had a replacement part handy and fixed it quickly.  Since he was already here I asked him to tighten a leaky shower head, no problem.  He also cleaned the filter on the hot water line to my washing machine.
Nothing major and his low price reflected that for a visit all the way to North Fort Worth.  Very honest with what he did and charged me.

Lary is a very nice guy.  He is professional and respected my residence.  Larry also cleaned up after himself prior to leaving.  It's been quite a while since I have needed to hire a plumber so I am not sure if Larry's rate are competitive.  I did not do alot of shopping around. Larry was in my area so I decided to give him a call.  If I need a plumber in the future I would not have an issue hiring Stinson Plumbing again.

Larry came out to fix my clogged drains and found a crack in the pipe in my front yard. He went ahead and cleared the drains and the next week came out with a backhoe. He dug down, fixed the crack, and put fencing around the huge hole until the city inspector could make it out. The next day after the inspector gave his approval, Larry filled the hole back in, watering the soil as he did so, and then smoothed it over the best he could. He came in and attached the water filter in about ten minutes. He got the permits, called the inspector, brought the hose for my filter - all I had to do was call him. The price for unclogging my drains the first day was $130 - that was with my Angie's List discount of $20. The pipe work and filter cost me $1050. Larry was very professional and friendly. His wife who handles the office was also professional and friendly. I will definitely call him the next time I need a plumber!!!  :)

For several weeks we noticed a decline in hot water after a shower or using the dishwasher which was unusual since there are only two of us. Since we had experienced a foundation leak in our first home we considered that to be a possibility but couldn't find any warm spots on the floor in the kitchen or bathrooms. Then one day my husband walked through the living room in his stocking feet and stepped into a puddle of water in front of the fireplace. We knew this would be an expensive job and wanted the best so we subscribed to Angie's List in order to get a reliable referral. We called two companies for quotes. One my husband chose and one that I chose. I chose a reputable company who had been in business for many years. My husband chose a local small company - Larry Stinson's Plumbing - that had not been in business nearly as long but he wanted to help a local small businessman. Both had excellent reviews. Both companies recommended redirecting the lines from the hot water heater into the attic, bypassing the leak instead of digging huge holes on both sides of the fireplace in the living room and the master bedroom to find the leak. The larger company was less expensive and was giving a 10% Angie's List member discount. Larry Stinson's quote was more by $200.00 even with their Angie's List member discount. I interviewed the large company and my husband interviewed Larry Stinson. We were both impressed with our choices and had a tough decision, but we went with my husband's choice. My husband warned Larry of our dilemna in making our decision and told him that he had to win me over - and he did just that. He matched the other company's price and I believe did a far better job than the other company would have done. First of all Larry's office called when they were running late by 5 minutes. Next, though he had explained everything to my husband he explained everything again to me step by step. They also drained the hot water heater which we had never done and which the other company said they wouldn't do because it would take too much time. Though Larry was pretty certain of the location of the leak, to be absolutely sure he went and purchased a camera to be 200% certain. Larry also only cut the sheet rock in unnoticeable places whereas the other company wanted to cut a hole in a bedroom wall where we would have had to repaired the sheetrock and painted. Whatever messes they made was cleaned, leaving no evidence of them being in our home all day. Larry Stinson completed the job by the time I'd returned home from work and walked me through the house and explained to me everything that had been done. The next day Larry's wife called to see if we were satisfied. What service!! My only regret is that I didn't write the review sooner.

Phone responsiveness was very timely.  There was an unavoidable delay due to a equipment issue so the original service call was delayed.  Once they had correction for equipment they were responsive and professional in assessment and recommendations. They gave easy to understand information and options.

Larry showed up on time and fixed the problem efficiently. He explained all aspects of the issue as he did the work and was very helpful. I would definitely recommend Larry to others. IN fact I've already recommended him to several commercial users that I have a business relationship with.

We have used them twice.  We are extremely impressed.  I needed a hot water heater.  You know how they just go out.  It was on the weekend.  I called his wife.  By the time he got home, she had all the stuff he needed.  They live a ways away.  He was over here, and then I had a clogged drain.  I called him, and they were here the next morning.  He did a good job.  If I needed him again, I would probably call him again.  He works with his wife and another young man.  They have a business together, but his wife did all of the footwork.  By the time he got home, all he had to do was come out and fix it.  He was very efficient.  It was a good price.

Same day service.

Reasonable estimate and actual price ended up being a bit less than estimate.

Good communication and ease of scheduling.

Job was completed in timely manner, no mess left behind (trust me, that's a big deal after SOME plumbers I've had out in the past) and both owner and worker were professional, friendly, and helpful.

Based upon my experience today, I'd say this is a company you can trust to do a good job.

Found Larry here on Angies List, thought I recognized the name... turns out I didn't know him, but was a great experience.   I called early Tuesday morning as I had pulled out the overflow pipe from a bathtub, while I was preparing to retile some damage.   Carissa, who handles the booking and scheduling told me Larry would be over late morning.  About 2:30 they showed up, and while I was a little put off by this I soon figured out why.   Larry does jobs right, end of story.  If it needs fixing, there is no "patch it up", or "It might work"  He took the time to evaluate the entire situation, figure out the best plan, and then we sat down and discussed it.   It turned out to be a bigger job then either of us had expected, my house was built in the mid 60's and nothing is standard, tub was 28" and the replacement we got was 30" zThe drain pipe was off a couple of inches, they didn't shortcut a "fix" they went down and extended it out properly.   Larry took the time to cut out the extra area very carefully, and all through the process him and his assisstant were cleaning and taking trash to the curb.   I had to send them home at 7:00 and have them come back the next day, I have no doubt they would have worked till midnight or later to finish.  I spent a little more than I had expected, but was able to return a $60 part to home depot, that made up almost 1/2 the difference.    At the end of the job, the place was cleaned, debris free, and ready for the tile guy.   I cannot recommend them enough, and will be calling them again for any future plumbing needs.

Larry Stinson Plumbing Company did excellent work. They were real careful not to make a mess. They came in and did everything they could to make a little break through. They did it as efficiently as they could. I would use them again in the future.
