I can't say whether the cost for service was fair because I don't have any other experiences to compare them to, however they were punctual, extremely professional, and put me at ease with what needed to be done. It's not easy to have someone work on your home so I was pleased with the whole experience and would recommend them again.
Description of Work: repaired water heater, kitchen faucet, and bathroom sinks. The price is a ROUGH estimate, it's been a while since the work was done but I do know I felt it was more than fair at the time,

We had a water leak in the master bathroom that could have been originating from multiple sources and only manifested itself through water coming up through the flooring. We called our 'regular' plumber and another Angies' List company, but neither could come out for days. MET was our third call, and they immediately scheduled a same-day service call. We received 2 calls (one from the plumber and one from the office) when the plumber was on his way, and he arrived just as expected. He spent a full half day at the house - first working steadily but thoughtfully through the problem, keeping up in the loop all the way. He tried all of the least destructive ideas first. The leak was found in the shower wall and repaired. It was a slow leak that was becoming worse, and we luckily avoided a major disaster. Someone from the MET office called after John left just to check up on the job, which was above and beyond customer service. We are thankful for MET's and John's responsiveness and professionalism. In fact, we cannot say enough great stuff about John. They use set/job pricing (vs. time and material) which was, perhaps, a smidge high (only a smidge), but we have no serious complaints and we would call MET again. They may even replace the 'regular' plumber - although wouldn't it be nice not to need a 'regular' plumber. :-)

I really love MET both times we have used them. They came out the same day for our emergency leak, unlike 3 other plumbing companies I called. They were very professional, our leak turned out to be air conditioner related so they did not charge us. The second time I called they came out the same day I called about a loud water heater. He examined and gave me the problem (dirty and old). Gave me options and pricing on the spot to think about and cleaned it that same day to at least stop the noise. He was quick and did a good job (no noise now!) I will definitely use them again..

I would never call this company again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. Once their "technicians" came out, all they talked about was doing a "$20,000 job". It was dark outside so we could not see exactly what they were doing to arrive at this "twenty thousand dollar" figure. They never pulled up one or more toilets to see what was going on. Then we were slammed with a bill for $376.00 for these people to come out and do virtually nothing. I ended up calling another company the next morning and we hired them instead.
Description of Work: Came out after 5:00 to see why toilets were backing up in a small retail center. I called them because their listing on Angie's List said they do commercial plumbing.

Provider arrived within the scheduled window, following a call from their dispatcher 45 minutes prior to his arrival. We had a sizable leak in our garage from an unknown source. This led to mold development in our drywall. After testing numerous potential sources in the area (two sinks, clothes washer, water softener, toilet, bath, and shower), potential exterior drainage issues, and checking moisture levels in the walls, the source was determined to be the water softener, which would leak from the back of the unit when regenerating. The technician cut out the decaying bits of drywall and also cut another hole higher up the wall to allow the insulation within the walls to dry out. He recommended that we place a fan in the area to assist in drying out the remaining affected drywall and insulation. He closed off the water softener from the plumbing system and offered to replace the offending unit for ~$2,400, roughly 3-4 times what we paid for the original unit from a major home improvement store. We chose to evaluate our options in terms of replacement, including filing a warranty claim with the softener manufacturer. Had his replacement cost been more reasonable, we likely would have hired him to replace our faulty unit on the spot. All in all, the technician (Don) was very helpful, professional, and courteous. For this alone, we would recommend their services. However - be aware that their costs will be high.

I called MET and was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who was helpful. She stated that someone could be out in 30 minutes which was a very quick turnaround. I liked that she told me upfront that there would be a $50 travel fee for the plumber to come out if we didn't do any service with them. As a customer, getting information upfront is much better than being surprised when they get here. That's a great customer service aspect that so many companies overlook and undervalue. MET sent a plumber out by the name of Bryon. He was professional and exhibited impressive customer service. Byron was efficient and quick in his assessment. He wore shoe covers and I felt comfortable having him in our home. Additionally, it was a pressure free situation and that's comforting for a customer who wants to make that decision without the pressure of having to purchase a service. When he left, he explained that he could come back (minus the travel fee already paid, another great customer service aspect), and was informative on his way out. The only issue I had (which is why they're getting the B, otherwise it would be an A without a doubt) was that I felt like their quote was extremely high. He said the sprayer was leaking, but it might be the faucet too. His suggestion was to replace the whole combination. That ranged from $400-900! I don't know much about plumbing, but knew that was too high. After speaking with Home Depot and doing some research on our own, we ended up replacing the sprayer and fixing the problem for $20! With the travel fee, we still stayed under $100 and saved hundreds of dollars. The price difference was disconcerting. So overall, they were a great plumbing company to work with and had excellent customer service details that are sure to impress anyone who works with them. The only drawback today was their pricing solution.

We called for an estimate to move our bath tub drain as we were pulling the bath and putting in a shower. And to move the plumbing to the other wall in the shower. Their estimate was nearly triple what we paid to have done, and they insisted that we would have to have our sink drains lifted to accommodate the overflow from the shower. The other plumbers just scratched their heads with that one. The vent was just 'y' d into the vent in the shower. No problem.

They were extremely professional. Showed up on time & gave a good estimate. Leveled with us on the more expensive item that we were looking at possibly getting & told us that, frankly, it wouldn't pay for itself & it wasn't worth the money, for our situation, & he suggested getting what we ended up with. He returned with the water heater 2 days later & installed it. Once it was installed, he showed it to me upstairs in the attic & made sure I didn't have any questions. We received a discount because we are Angie's List members. Came in several hundred dollars less than his competitor & we couldn't be happier with the product, the professionalism, & the customer service.

I estimated the function of standard rate where they come out and do those for $99 which is what you see people advertise the whole time. They came out and cleaned the drain for $170 though I got them out of Angies List. It was great but I should have checked that out first. It is my fault that I did not ask them the charges nor did I negotiate the price first with them so at that point of time if I tend to work the price out it would not help. They responded fairly fast and got to the job pretty quick.

Don arrived on time and was very professional. The toilet seal had disintegrated and water+ seepage had corroded the flange. He replaced that, installed a new seal and reseated the toilet. Workmanship was excellent. He spread a tarp to keep the floor clean and then cleaned up completely after completion. (This is a VERY messy, dirty job.) We were completely satisfied, so much so that a few weeks later we had MET Plumbing return to repair our gas water heater that a warranty service contract employee had damaged causing a gas leak. Again Don was on time the same day we called and had the damage quickly repaired. MET Plumbing isn't the cheapest, - I almost gave them a "B" for price - but you get what you pay for.

The first time I called, there was no answer. They were professional and polite, and put coverings on their shoes before coming in. At least one of them smelled like cigarettes. The quality of the work seems to be fine one week afterwards. I wanted a cheaper price with no replacement of the supply line, but they were inflexible on the point and would not do the work except by their established rules. They were not argumentative. They were a couple of hours late, but the roads were icy that day so I dont hold it against them. The toilet seat was broken while they made the repairs, so they went to the store and bought a new (cheap) one at no cost to us, and installed it. This seems fair, since the old seat was wobbly.

The technician looked at my family room ceiling which is vaulted and said it probably couldn't be done because they couldn't get through the ceiling. He did not act like he was interested in doing the work from the moment he walked in the door. He went up into the attic for about one minute after seeing I was really wanting the gas line run. He came down and said they couldn't do it. I questioned him because my duct work had recently been replaced so I knew there had to be attic access to the kitchen. He went back into attic and then said there was a small opening but it would be difficult. He gave me a bid for $2350, which I found outreaguously expensive. I didn't have them do the work but I had to pay $49.00 for the estimate. I had someone else run the line and paid $1500.00.

The plumber and assistant arrived on time as promised. They took extra care with heavy drop cloths and shoe covering to minimize any mess. They had to blow out the old water heaters because they would not drain due to a heavy accumulation of deposits. The old water heaters were carried down the attic stairway and then down a curving wood stained staircase. There were no scratches or bumps on the staircase or doorway and these old water heaters were heavy. The new water heaters have worked perfectly. The job took about 6 hours. Overall it was a very smooth process. Their pricing was not the cheapest, but well worth it for the quality of the work.
