We used him in the past and he did great job for us installing sinks. But after 2013 when i had the hot water heater installed his quality went downhill. When he completed the job it was done sloppy with wires hanging out.

Brad is amazing! He came, assessed the situation, and fixed my water heater. He came in over the weekend to make sure I had hot water and to ensure everything was working correctly. I strongly suggest using this company.

We called Essential Plumbing when we noticed our toilet was leaking and the shower/bath was backing up (not a pretty sight). Brad came out first thing the next day and immediately suggested that we probably need to have our sewer line replaced. He then proceeded to recommend a completely different company who was currently having a special on video inspection of sewer lines because he could not match their price. We were pleasantly surprised that he did this.
We called out the other plumbing company and they did confirm that the sewer line required replacing. They said they could start the next day since we had no working toilets in the house. I called Brad from Essential the same night and he gave me a bid over the phone which was rouglhy $1700 cheaper then the other plumbing company. He came around the next day to confirm the bid amount and even though it was slightly higher, he stood by his original 'over the phone bid'. Once we accepted the quote and paid the deposit, Brad had the crew around very next day to begin excavation. The workers were polite and had a very tough time as they discovered that there was a thick layer of concrete underneath our tiles which they did not count on. Even though the job was much tougher there was no attempt to change the price. Once the pipe had been excavated we could see various points where it had developed holes and could easily cause blockages. The next morning Brad has arrived and began replacing the sewer line. True to his word he had us all connected back up with working toilets on the day that he promised (we were staying in a hotel so this was important).
Unfortunately the saga does not end there. Even after the sewer replacement the toilet continued to block and leak. Brad came back and investigated further. It turns out that the other plumber had run a snake down into our house (to try and unclog the toilet). The snake broke off and left a 4 foot piece of steel in our sewer pipe under the house. The other plumber did not say anything (as he would then be responsible for removing it and fixing our pipe) and simply left. Once Brad removed the broken piece of steel and then re-sealed the toilet back it has been working beautifully.
Overall we were very happy with Brad's responsiveness and knowledge and would gladly use Essential again.

After reviewing several plumbers on Angie's list, I called Essential Plumbing Service. Brad and Daniel arrived on time, assessed the issue and resolved it quickly. The rate was reasonable and Brad and Daniel were professional and did not proceed until they laid a tarp to protect my floor. I was impressed with the punctuality, courteous professionalism, and pricing.

The appt was set and 2 very nice plumbers showed up on time and performed an inspection, replaced old spout for the new one I purchased at Ferguson's, drained the water heater in attic for flush and cleaned up (all in less than an hour).  I received an A+ report on my home's plumbing system which was critical as the home was under "contract" for sale.  However, I was disappointed to see that caulking around the new spout to tile was not apart of their process.  Two days later, the buyer for my home sent their certified home inspector out for "inspections" where the inspector noted that there was a gas smell coming from the attic and to call CenterPoint Energy for proper assessment.  The CenterPoint Energy assessment placed a red tag on my home and showed the "gas leak was coming from the Water Heater."

Brad answered my call close to 5PM on Sunday (I had my fingers crossed because another companies weren't even picking up their phones or calling me back) and said that he would be at my place at a certain time. They arrived promptly and even before then, Brad called me to let me know that they were on their way so that was great. When they arrived, they assess the situation and did their thing and informed me about what my next steps were. What really impressed me the most was he actually ASKED to talk to my AC guy and made recommendations that my AC guy never even mentioned. I don't think many techs would offer to do that (talk to another tech that they don't even know / ever worked with) so I was glad that he wanted to find the root cause, offer options, AND provide recommendations that went beyond plumbing - really tells you that he cares about giving his customers the best possible options and knowledge of the situation. I'm a new homeowner WITHOUT any knowledge of home repairs etc so I felt comfort in that aspect.
Another cool thing was he recommended my AC guy come in and he will come in as well so they can look at the problem thoroughly together (its not solved 100%, I still have to keep a close eye on my pipes etc) so it really makes me feel good that he's open with partnering with other people and his work method is to EFFICIENTLY and EFFECTIVELY determine the root cause and solve the problem.
I'm a girl, I don't know much about this stuff and when one person says this and leaves and another person comes in and says that, it really just makes the situation worse and confusing. I don't want a tech to come in and bandage a problem that just in their field and leave, I want a long-term solution or at least a good recommendation etc.
Price was good in that I got the Angie's List discount and that he came to my house promptly and on Sunday evening with no "emergency travel charges" etc. I highly recommend him and will be asking him for a quote for a new water heater asap and perhaps installing a new toilet down the line.

As far as having a water leak in your home goes, the plumbing was rather easy to deal with. In our case we had estimates drawn up for locating the leak, fixing the leak and another for the worst case of having to choose between jackhammering around in your house or tunneling under the house. DO: Call your insurance agent immediately after the call to the plumbersDO: Share information between your insurance adjustor and your plumber. I actually had them both there at the same time. That way, there are no questions. DO: Take lots of pictures.DO: Question everything you sign

I used them twice and both times I used them they were tough jobs. The first time they had to dig in the ground and had to fix a broken water line. The second time they had to fix another broken water line and worked hours digging and fixing the leak. They came out right away on a weekend and I was very pleased.

I bought a coupon for this service.  I would refer them to my family members and friends.  Their availability was good.  They couldn’t come that day but they came out the next day.  Their price was reasonable.  I thought it was kind of expensive for the amount of time that they spent here.  I don’t know how much a plumber charges per hour.  I think they include the trip charges plus the hourly work that they do.  So the deal that I got from the coupon wasn’t anything better than I could have got if I had to just call a plumber.  They fixed the problem.  They didn’t answer the phone when I called them.  So I left a message and they called me back.  I will use them again in the future if I need to.

I got an appointment on the day that I called. They gave me a two hour window, stated that the plumber would give me a call 30 minutes before coming over. Brad called to see if he could come by 30 minutes earlier than the time frame I was told. When I called back and said it was ok, he arrived shortly after. He was professional, honest, friendly, and took the time to clean up well. He informed me of the most cost effective options, and was not pushy. I would definitely call him again for any plumbing challenges.

Had water accumulating along side the exterior wall of my garage and the ground was saturated.  Essentail Plumbing (found under Katy Pros) arrived within the time frame given.  I was quoted a price to excavate and find the leak.  They dug out the wet dirt until the cause of the leak was found.  I was quoted another price to repair the leak.  The broken connecter was repaired with a higher strenth connecter.  The excavated dirt was replaced.   The conduct of Brad and his helper was very professional.  Brad explained the problem and what he was going to do to fix it.  The repair is warranted for one year.

I felt Brad was an experienced plumber and knew what he was doing.  I would recommend Essential Plumbing.

We called Brad on Monday, and he came to provide an estimate on Tuesday evening.  The work was scheduled for and took place on Thursday.  The removal of the old unit and installation of the new unit was completed without incident.  Clean up was exceptional.  There was no debris or evidence of dirt left behind.
