I was all set to have another company install the radiant barrier/insulation and the next day I received my electric bill and saw the insert for EAS's offer, and decided to call them for an estimate. They quoted me an estimate over the phone, and then proceeded to schedule the appointment, and told me that Todd Lynch would be coming at the appointed time to inspect the attic. Todd Lynch arrived right on time and after inspecting the attic and the outside of the house, proceeded to go through and explain the services that EAS has to offer and recommended what was needed for my home. He said that the estimate quoted over the phone was high, and he would be able to quote me a lower rate. He was very thorough and knowledgeable and after answering all my questions, I decided to call EAS to schedule the appointment. A two man crew arrived promptly as scheduled (actually, they were early) and as one team member explained what they would be doing, the other was busy setting up and starting the work. They were very professional and courteous and kept me in the loop the entire time. When finished, they vacuumed the area affected and gave me a mask and had me go up to the attic to take a look. Norman also showed me how to use the attic cover. All in all, it was probably one of the more pleasant experiences that I've ever had having anyone do any work done at my home. Their professionalism made the difference and I wouldn't hesitate to call them again if needed.
Description of Work: Radiant barrier, insulation and 4 baffles. Also, had an attic cover installed.

The experience was very efficient. They were clean and on time. They cleaned everything up very well when finished. After they were finished, my a/c quit working, but it was not their fault. They did say that if it was their fault, they would have had paid for someone to come out and fix it.
Description of Work: They did radiant barrier and insulation. They also repaired an attic access cover.

David George came out to give us a quote on the insulation service. He was able to set an appointment up quickly, and was very professional and knowledgeable. He provided a very flexible quote with different levels of service, and insisted we call if we found a better price somewhere else. We received a couple of other quotes, both around the same price, and decided to go with EAS. The guys handling the installation were able to come out the weekend after we decided, which was great because the house is empty during the week, and we can't afford to miss work these days. They were super-fast, cleaned up afterward, and did a great job. We've already seen a vast improvement in the utility bills, and look forward to a nice, warm home this winter.
Description of Work: EAS came out to quote and complete blowing 20" of fiber glass insulation in our attic. Our house was built around 1955, and there was not more than 3" of original insulation up there. Also, the previous owners had removed a section of ceiling to create a vaulted ceiling in the living room, but had not sufficiently insulated the new walls adjacent to the attic area. EAS installed batted insulation there as well.

I called EAS after seeing the television commercials offering 50% off the service price. I was very happy with the service-workers promptness, courtesy, and professionalism. They took care not to track any dirt into my home and laid out plastic runners to pick up any debris that might flow back from the blown insulation. I was a little disappointed with the "fast talk" about a 50% discount on the radiant barrier spray. You had to purchase "another" service at full price to get the 50% discount on the spray. The other service was either the blow-in insulation, ridge or gable vents, turbine vents, etc. Since I was already renovating my home, all I really needed was the spray barrier. The salesman recognized that when I pointed out I wasn't really getting a "deal". So we kept negotiating for a basic price of $1/sf for spray-on barrier (my small home is 956 sf). I had learned from a friend that he paid $3500 for a 3500 sf home, another paid $2200 for a 2300 sf home, etc. It pays to negotiate! I abandoned the TV commercial deal and made my own deal! Go for it. I had this installed in the Dallas Texas heat during the 105 degree days. By the next day, my home was immediately 8 degrees cooler and my a/c was running about 1/2 as much as it had the day before. This spray on stuff really does work!
Description of Work: Installed spray-on radiant barrier for my 1920s frame cottage-style home. As part of the package, they also installed 8 inches of blown-in insulation.

EAS was able to come out on a Saturday to give us an estimate about a week after we called to schedule an appointment. The consultant, Mike Watson, seemed very knowledgeable and took time surveying our attic and the outside of our house. He sat down with us and described the services his company offered. He explained what our house currently had for insulation and ventilation and explained what EAS could do to improve it. We were given estimates for each type of service (radiant barrier, insulation and ventilation). My husband and I thought it over for a week and decided to go with EAS because they were the only company who offered a complete solution (radiant barrier, insulation and ventilation). Most companies only offered radiant barrier and insulation. I got a quote from one other company and they were charging more than EAS. EAS was very busy when we scheduled them in May. They had one team that did the radiant barrier and insulation and another team that did the ventilation. Each team worked quickly and left their work area clean. The ventilation team even noticed that the turtle vents ordered for our house did not match the roof. They installed the turtle vents that day and returned a week later to swap them out with the ones that matched our roof. We also had to have the radiant barrier team come back and spray the gable on one side of our house where the evening sun hits. Radiant barrier spray for the gable was included in our initial estimate and I think the team that did the initial radiant barrier sprayed the wrong gable. In the end, we were very pleased with the service and the results. Our attic and garage is much cooler in the hot summer months. We have not been able to see much difference in our electric bill when comparing to last year because our electric rates have gone up this year and we had a newborn baby early this year which has increased our electricity usage.
Description of Work: Radiant barrier spray applied to the underside of our roof (1600+ sq foot one story house). 12 inches of blown-in insulation including light dams for our can lights. Replacement of 3 turbine vents with 4 turtle vents and 12 additional soffits added. The price included half-price radiant barrier with the purchase of $500 of additional services.

I was very pleased with the way they do their estimates. The salesperson came out and explained how everything would go. We knew exactly what it would cost. They do not inconvenience the homeowner any more than they have to. They brought the tubing in through our windows, closest to our attic. I was very pleased and would recommend them to any one.

Typical hardware store affiliated company with very average service. Estimator was slightly late, in a hurry, and didn't offer any solutions to my problems. I won't bother to call this crowd again. Others on the list were more responsive and helpful.

Salesman initially came over and assessed needs. Did not oversell on areas that should not be insulated. Very professional and informative. Was able to schedule in 2 weeks as told by the salesman. Crew of 3 came out exactly on time and performed the job with minimal disruption. They cleaned up well and were very polite. The "efficient" in their company name is definitely appropriate - they did exactly what they said they would do - what more can you ask for these days?

They did a good job, the price seemed reasonable compared to the market. They proactively covered items in my attic with plastic sheathing to keep the paint overspray from causing any damage. Clean up of the site and their insistence that I inspect their work myself were both impressive.

It all went very well. They arrived right on time and they took only two hours to put the insulation in. Our two year old was taking a nap the entire time they were here putting the insulation in so they were very quiet. Their original estimate was a little high, so I got another estimate and told them about it and they ended up coming down on the price, which was nice. I would recommend getting a second bid for comparison.

They are very punctual. The prices are really reasonable. They are also willing to negotiate. They worked really quickly. They didn't clean up as well as I thought they should, but they were responsive to come back and finish cleaning. We were also uninformed of the fumes that would carry around our house for a short while after the work was performed, which we didn't know if it was going to harm our pets.

The team did an outstanding job. They showed up on time (not sometime between 8 and 5). They showed up exactly when they were scheduled to be here. They performed all of the work in 2 hours. I was amazed at how fast they did their work. After the work was done, they went through the house making sure nothing (alarms, phone, internet, ...) was damaged in the process and then they cleaned up after themselves. They were here for less than 2 and a half hours and when they were done, you couldn't tell they had been here. Great job!

A rep came out to give us a bid for both insulation and a radiant barrier. He was very helpful, and answered all our questions. They checked back with us a few days later to see if we had additional questions. After we received a lower quote from another company, EAS was able to come down on their original quote. The two technicians who came out to install the insulation were on time, took every step to protect our house/flooring during the installation, and were finished quickly. They did a very thorough job cleaning up. Another agent from the company actually came out to the house to do a spot-check for quality control while the technicians were working.

From the original conversation with the call center rep. to the men who did the actual install everyone was professional, polite, sincere and very helpful. Wonderful people to work with. I schedule the free estimate for 3 days after my initial call. The estimator, Bart, was punctual & very knowledgeable. He even gave me some great tips for when the time comes to replace my roof. He wrote out the estimate and gave me paperwork for getting a refund from TXU. I then researched alternatives & found out that it would cost almost the same even if we did it ourselves, so I called EAS & scheduled the installation. The appointment was 2 days out, from 8:00am to 10:00am. On the appointed day I was still making coffee when the doorbell rang at exactly 8:00am! What service company actually shows up at the beginning of a time window??? Wow! I was impressed. The two guys that did the install were very nice, worked quickly, and totally cleaned up everything afterward. I couldn't be happier.

The salesman came to the house on time and did a thorough inspection of the current insulation. He measured the depth of the blown in cellulose in several areas to determine how much to add. He really tried to sell me on the radiant barrier paint, but it was quite expensive considering the other work I was having done. I had other quotes from the competition, one of which was lower, so I asked for a price match, and it was. The workmen arrived on time to blow the insulation and it was complete in about a half hour. They even said they put too much in, but they couldn't take it back, so I got a bit of a gift. The ventilation was performed from the exterior only, so I didn't have to be there for that work. Several days later, there was a heavy rain and I checked on the turbine installation and there were no leaks.

It went great! They showed up promptly, performed the work as agreed, cleaned up very well, and left early in the afternoon. They left just a little bit of cellulose on the garage floor, but only a handful there. There was no mess in the street or driveway. The spray job on the radiant barrier looks pretty good from what I can see from the attic space over the garage area. You have to be pretty limber to get through the joists in my attic, but it's obvious they went all over the attic for both the radiant barrier and insulation.
Description of Work: We had radiant barrier sprayed on the underside of the roof decking, as well as more cellulose insulation sprayed in the attic. We also had them install insulating/sealing foam boxes around the can lights in the kitchen.

The free in-home estimator, Mike Watson was extremely professional and knowledgeable. The installers were very professional as well. They told me what to expect during and after, and made sure to close the front door as soon as they could as well as closing the attic door during the installation. They even cleaned up after themselves (completely). These little things make the difference between a good job and a great one. I have a testimonial to add. After this work was done, our A/C quit working during a sunny hot July day. It stopped at around noon, but the house didn't start to feel warm until closer to 5pm. Even through the night, the house never got above 83 degrees. Before I had this work done, I had to turn off the A/C during a sunny hot July day, but within two hours the house was too hot for comfort. I wondered of the experts were right and if I did the right thing by having this done. It is definitely worth it.
Description of Work: They applied a radiant heat barrier and 7" of insulation. The radiant heat barrier is a spray-on product to the inside of the roof. The insulation is white and fluffy and distributed directly on the attic floor.

The work was done on time as promised. The men who did the work were professional and efficient. We are satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: Last spring we had loose fill fiberglass insulation put in our attic and heat protective lighting dams put over the recessed lights. EAS personnel were professional, efficient and knowledgeable. Later, we had them review our attic ventilation and they added three wind turbines and 12 soffit vents. Our energy bills have definitely been lower since that time (but the weather has been cooler than normal also.) EAS did a good job and we would recommend them. We believe their prices are fair but not inexpensive. Another company gave us a cost estimate that was similar to EAS.
