Servpro Of The Woodlands Conroe

Servpro of the Woodlands (who also goes by S&R Operations) was recommended by my insurance company and was hired to conduct repairs on our home following a fire which occurred on August 5th, 2013. They stated the home repairs would be completed in 2 to 3 months. The sub contractor started out repairing the home quickly, but the repairs quickly slowed down as Servpro quit paying the subcontractor and stopped working on the home. We waited for almost 3 months while S&R operations stated we were waiting on insurance. I found out later we weren't waiting on insurance, we were waiting on S&R operations to submit a supplement to insurance which finally occurred in late November. They continued to not work in a timely manner, they didn't do what they say they were going to do, and they didn't pay their subcontractors. Currently there are still 2 outstanding invoices to a sub contractor, one of which is from November. I have tried repeatedly to communicate with them and keep them working but they wont. I informed them in early January that I no longer want to work with them and they have been ignoring my calls and emails to try and resolve this matter. The number of complaints is numerous, from insurance fraud to theft of personal property from my home. I am just trying to get this company to pay their invoices and give me back my money they have been holding for months. They have completed about $60,000 worth of work but have invoiced me for over $120,000. I am not sure of what they claim they have done because I have requested copies of their invoices numerous times but they haven't given me any of them. On the few occasions I was able to get in touch with the owner (Randy Meacham) he was rude and very unprofessional, including making false accusations about my reasons to fire them. The reasons include they are not trustworthy, they tell you they are going to conduct a repair the proper way but then tell the subcontractor to perform the work in a cheaper manner so that Servpro can pocket the price difference. Their only goal is to take as much money as possible from anyone unfortunate enough to allow them into their homes. They have repeatedly inflated numbers and billed myself and insurance for work that never occurred. I could not recommend this company to anyone, including people I don't like. Servpro of the woodlands does not deserve to be in business. They also have my personal property, which my insurance company has already paid them for cleaning and for moving it back into my home. When I asked them to return my property they told me they would not until we resolved our outstanding invoice. When I say outstanding invoice I am talking about the amount Servpro claims I owe them for the work they didn't do.
