Kintex Plumbing, Llc

So I smelled gas in my back yard and called the gas company. CenterPoint (CPT) promptly came to my home to inspect and discovered a leak in the line from the house to the gas grill. Because of the leak they turned gas off to the home. My home warranty company dispatched Kintex Plumbing to repair the leak. The plumber, Mario, shows up in an unmarked white van and looks like he just rolled out of bed. He is not wearing a uniform and has on Croc-like shows without socks to perform the work. I tell him what CPT told me about the gas grill line and he responds that without the gas on he cannot identify where the leak is and CPT should have marked it. With only a visual inspection he tells me that I will need to replace the outside line because it was installed incorrectly. He asks me for the $75 fee and tells me that there is nothing he can do, but does offer that CPT should have disconnected the grill line and capped the line instead of turning off gas to the entire home. As he is leaving he shares with me that he has been called to a bigger job and needs to collect the fee so he can go. Since my water heater is gas and it is Friday I am furious that CPT didn't cap the line and call to get them out to do this. When I call CPT the operator listens to my story and shares with me that they cannot legally do this and that since this is on my side of the meter I will need to get a licensed plumber repair the leak before gas service can be restored. When I call Kintex back, I speak with the manger, Amy. She listens to the story and tells me that Mario should have been able to identify the leak, but he didn't have the necessary equipment when he arrived at my home. I ask about capping the line until they can work up an estimate to replace the grill line and she tells me this isn't something they do. My home warranty company has put Kintex Plumbing on a do not call list for my area. Since my wife and I both work it was necessary for me to take 1 1/2 days off work to get this resolved.

Everything has been working fine since then. Did not just make up something that needed to be done.

He arrived at the beginning of the 2 hour window and got right to work. The faucet he replaced was all rusted and difficult to get out and also, I have a reverse osmosis system that leaves the under-sink area very small and hard to get tools and parts in and out. He did a fine job, was polite and cleaned up the work space. They also contract through Lowe's on Broadway St in Pearland, Texas which is how I found them.
