Houston Water Heaters

Water heater finally quit working after 12 years, which happened 2 days before Thanksgiving. We priced water heater replacement at Lowe's - somewhere between 900 - 1200, a plumbing company who quoted between 1800 to 2700, and another plumbing company who would not even give us an estimate without sending a plumber over - which would cost about 60. We decided to call Houston Water Heaters to get an estimate and see how quickly they could come out. I described in detail where the water heater was located (luckily on the ground floor next to washer/dryer and easy to access). They were able to work us in on the same day as I called. Originally scheduled for after 2p, they called back and told us they could come by between 11a-12p. They were on time and installed the new water heater quickly (about 1hour) and for the same price as their estimate. They ended up replacing the hose coupling, had to redo the overflow piping, and installed an overflow pan and water alarm - all in the same total as quoted, and they walked us through the start up procedures should we ever have to relight the water heater. The two installers were very courteous and professional, and I would highly recommend Houston Water Heaters!

Our Eternal hybrid water heating system went out late Thursday evening so we called a plumber in the area that is available for 24 hour emergency service and specialized in Tankless systems. The plumber advised our system was shot and would need to be replaced. He said he could replace our system with a new tankless system for $5000 and thought he could have someone out the following day, but would confirm in the morning. Before spending $5000, we checked Angie's list for reviews on the plumber and the feedback was okay, but did some further research and found Houston Water Heaters, who had excellent reviews. We called Steve the following morning to describe our situation and check on service availability. He was very familiar with our Eternal system and recommended it be replaced as well. Based on our water usage, he determined that we needed a large tankless heater and quoted purchase and installation of $3900, but he wouldn't have a crew available until Saturday morning. David and Jeff arrived on time and first laid down tarps throughout the house. They removed the old system, built the new frame and installed the new Navien system including a free drip pan and leak alarm on schedule. They helped us understand how the new system works, and some troubleshooting tips and answered all our questions. The only surprise was the final price was reduced by $50 when they mentioned an Angie's list coupon that we could apply toward the job. We couldn't be any more satisfied with our decision to use Houston Water Heaters!! Definitely an A+++++++++ Company!!

The installers arrived on time and did the installation of a attic above the second floor in an amazingly short amount of time. Conscientious relative to keeping the house clean and not making a mess. Overall I was very impressed.

Purchased water heater from Houston Water Heaters / Angie's list Monday night at 8:00pm. Contacted by Houston Water Heater next morning at approx 8:00am, scheduled appointment for same day at 12:00 noon. Houston Water Heaters (Daniel and Gus) arrived at scheduled time. Installation of new water heater was completed by 1:30pm. Excellent service!

Called by 9:00 am and had hot water by 2:30pm. Very professional from the office to the installer. What I was quoted on the phone is what I was charged. I will be using them again.

I made a call to Houston Water Heaters about 9am on the day before the Thanksgiving holiday expecting to be put on a schedule for the following week. The company let me know that they would come out the same day and do the work which was a pleasant surprise since one of the heater pans was leaking into my living room. I received a call from the technician within 30 minutes to schedule the installation. The technicians, Daniel and Gus arrived and complete the job within 2 hours of arrival which was amazing to me. The installation was handled in a completely professional manner and with zero disruption to my family during the installation. I am completely satisfied with the service provided and would highly recommend this company to any of my friends and neighbors that need this type of service.

These guys were great. Easy back-and-forth communication, great value, and quick quality work. Will absolutely use again, down the line.

Everything as quoted. The owner even advised me to buy cinder blocks to raise my hot water heater in the garage to comply with code. They called the day of installation and arrived at the time quoted. Installed new fittings and tested unit before leaving.

The 2 guys (a plumber and his helper) showed up on time and got to work immediately. They first evaluated what could be accomplished, they had very different communication levels. The plumber person was able to answer all our questions and concerns. After getting satisfactory replies to our questions on 1) Tank/Tank less, size and return on investment 2) Delayed hot water at restrooms on other side of the house 3) current state of pipes in our old house etc, we came up with an action plan and decided to go the 50 Gal Tank water heater with a how water circulating pump installed. They finished all the work the same day, cleaned up behind themselves, added a water drain pipe. Overall we were very satisfied with their work. I used a $799 deal and paid the difference for the extra pump and other small services. Great service provider, would definitely repeat any work.

At 5:15 this morning, I noticed water around the base of my old water heater. It was in the house when I bought it, and even then, twelve years ago, it sounded like a coffee percolator. I started searching Angie's List and as soon as I could, (about 8:30) I called Houston Water Heaters. Steve quoted me a price for same day replacement including parts, warranty and hauling off the old cooker, that I thought more than reasonable. He told me the "boys" would be in touch soon. I settled back to wait, but the call came only 30 minutes later. They promised to arrive by 10:30. They missed it by 15 minutes; they were early! They were also polite, respectful, fast and clean. Before they started work, they covered the floors, then swept up after they were done. I don't know enough to comment on the technical aspects, but the new water heater was working before they left. They walked me though the startup procedure, and showed me all the cutoffs I hadn't seen before. Not only that, but the price was the same as the quote. Houston Water Heaters, Steve, David and Jeff deserve all the good reviews they have received. i would use them again and will recommend them to anyone who need a water heater.

Carpentry was so-so; their expertise is more in plumbing. Rebuilding of the existing enclosure saved on the overall installation cost. Separately I hired an electrician to provide the needed electrical outlet for the new water heater. The provider did not pull a permit from the City of Houston. Provider answered all of my detailed questions about the installation satisfactorily. Water heater was installed successfully and started up the first time. The water heater has worked flawlessly for the past two years, including restarting automatically when power failed. If I had it to do over again, I would use this provider, but ask more questions and monitor the carpentry more closely as it was being done.

The installers were late due to additional work on prior job's plumbing that wasn't expected. That's really the only thing I can fault them for. They did call and let me know they were running late and gave me an updated ETA which they met. The gentlemen were very professional and courteous. They covered my stairs and floor with a heavy drop cloth to protect everything. Everything was cleaned up before they left. In general I think water heater installations are over priced ($500+ in labor for 2 hours), but these guys gave me the best price and a positive experience. Overall, the price "sting" is more manageable when everything is performed so smoothly and they were willing to accommodate me on a Saturday. I'll use them again and recommend them to family needing the same service.

I had already received a quote from another company my home warranty provider had sent out. While the cost for the unit and installation appeared to be the same; the other company's price did not include dispisal of the old heater, a new drain pan, or an alarm for the pan. Also, the other company's quote for the necessary changes to bring everything to current code was $600 more. Houston Water Heaters came out the same day I called, but due to the late hour and amount of work required, had to come back the following morning. They arrived at the time they said they would, went right to work, and had everything completed in about 3 hours. They protected the floors, made minimal mess, and even offered to vacuum the floor to pick up bits of insulation. The men who did the work were friendly but professional. The senior of the two even told me about a different issue he observed while in the attic that he suggested I have someone check. At my request he explained how to shut off the gas and water to the new unit in the event I have an issue in the future and also explained the best way to drain the unit annually in order to get the maximum life. They appear to have done quality work at a fair price, and I would definitely use them again.

The service was great. I was quoted a price over the phone. I asked for Saturday replacement - no problem. They included stuff that the other plumbers we're going to charge for and included alarms for the overflow pan. The installers could have been more aware of where "dripping flotsam" landed (on my carpet with a blue stain left), but they were on time, friendly and efficient. There was a math error on the bill and I received a refund check in the mail with a cute note. I hadn't noticed the error.

Houston Water Heaters answered my call promptly, gave me a quote and scheduled my service (for the next day) in one phone call. The service technicians arrived when expected, removed the old hot water heater and installed the new hot water heater without incident. They performed the removal and installation with care and cleaned up. Everything went extremely smoothly and I was back to washing dishes in a couple of hours. I have already recommended this company to two of my friends.

Outstanding effort. I called today at around noon and they gave me a competitive quote over the phone to replace the water heater. The old water heater had begun to leak into the pan and needed to be replaced. By 2 PM, they were at the house (called beforehand to set a time). It took them about 1 1/4 hours to take out the old one and put in the new water heater. The two installers were very clean, efficient and explained all they were going to do and the new regs that applied (old heater was 16 years old). I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a water heater replaced.

David was very professional and made sure everything was covered to prevent dirt and water from getting in my carpet. He was prompt and had the work done quickly. We called at 530pm and he was here at 845 the next morning.

It turned out to be double the price. However, with all the ductwork and the two attic A/C evaporator coils I knew it would be a tight squeeze. The guys did the job without grumbling. I am satisfied and glad to have them both replaced.

Unfortunately, our old water heater cracked and we were looking for reliable service at an affordable price. That is exactly what we got by going through Houston Water Heaters. After shopping around the typical way, through recommendations and word of mouth (and being provided with HIGH quotes and unprofessionalism), I decided sign up for Angieslist and look here. Naturally, my first option was Houston Water Heaters, as they had the most positive reviews and had quite a generous coupon. After purchasing the service I was promptly contacted by Steve (the same night of the purchase) and he contacted me the next morning to set up service. On the date of service, the two serivcemen Daniel and Gus were prompt, professional, and they had the job done in under an hour. Needless to say, I am VERY satisfied, and will recommend these guys to anyone who needs or is considering a water heater installation or upgrade.

We are going to be putting our house on the market soon, and we needed to change out one of the water heaters still functioning but 19 years old. I was out of town on business when I sent an internet request, and Steve literally called me back within 5 minutes and we scheduled the work for two days later. Team of two came out to the house. They were running a little late, but called in advance to let me know. I would say the installation was very professional - they were careful not to dirty up the house. They changed out the pan, and provided an alarm if there is a leak. This was a fairly tough installation - up in the attic of a two story house, in a tight space. No complaints from either guy. The work was very professional and to code.

We wanted to install a new hot water heater BEFORE ours went out since our house was almost 20 years old. We called Houston Hot Water heaters because of reviews on Angie's List. We spoke with the owner over the phone he gave us a price which was well under what anyone else had quoted including ARS and Home Depot. Basically the price was for the hot water heater and the installation was free. We were concerned about the quality of service but decided to go for it. So very glad we did, could not have asked for a better experience. Professional, clean, on time, did a perfect job, NO HIDDEN COSTS or additions to the estimate. EVERTHING needed for the installation was included in the price, including a free leak alarm, new drain pan etc. No bits and pieces of junk laying around after they were done. VERY PLEASED
