Houston Water Heaters

Offered two choices: standard and premium model. Their premium model was a Rheem heater for an additional $300 (which I purchased). They came out the same day I call for service, but I did have to measure the unit myself (I suppose they would come do an estimate if asked). They sent two guys who were very professional. Both guys seemed a bit grumpy, possibly because it was getting late in the day. No issues is instillation: quick, efficient, they put down tarps to protect flooring, and cleaned up when they were done. My only concern is that the energy efficiency sticker on the new unit is a bit high...but I really didn't have time to do research. I would ask about this before selecting a new unit.

Before calling Houston Water Heaters, I had received a quote from ARS who were installing the a Bradford White heater for a little higher price and would charge an extra $200-300 for a Rheem. Then I contacted HomeDepot and had waited 5 days to get a call for scheduling someone to come out and give an estimate. HomeDepot never showed up!!! Finally, I gave up on HomeDepot and found Houston Water Heaters on Angie's List. I called them around 7:30 pm (after-hours) and within 10 minutes, I got a quote over the phone and model description from Joe. He did not haggle any price, did not sell or try to push me into buying. Instead, he told me to check the price with other vendors before the final decision. I had already searched ARS and some other online quotes. They scheduled me for the next day and later called to see if I was available the same day as they had an opening. Anyway, I kept my original schedule and they showed on-time. Within 2 hours, they had completed the installation in a very professional manner. They even climbed up the roof to ensure there was no leaks around the combustion vent. They installed a water leakage alarm and showed me how it functions. David told me the model had just been released from the factory and I did not believe him. Once he left, I searched the model online and yes it is a new model in this Professional series.

Great all around service: quality product, fair price and solid delivery/installation. Call the number, talked to the rep (possibly owner), received upfront and complete pricing and agreed the delivery time. The company followed up to confirm the timing and called again before the delivery. Installation took roughly 2 hours. The team was very professional and took measures to protect the house and clean-up after.

Contacted them tuesday, installers came wednesday. David and Jeff were very polite and professional, left the area completely clean. Every aspect of the installation was explained and the operation of the pilot lite. The price included a new pan, new pipes, valve and an alarm in case of a water leak. No nickle and dime extras, how about that?

I am very impressed with Houston Water Heaters. My water heater was in bad shape, so I purchased the deal for a new 40 gallon water heater on Friday morning, after calling Steve to make sure they serviced my area. Steve confirmed they work in my area, and even said the could come out the next day! His crew arrived Saturday morning and were done in under an hour. I highly recommend!

My 15 yr. old hot water heater was rumbling badly and since it was well past it's life cycle called on Houston Water Heaters after reading reviews on Angie's List. I called yesterday afternoon, they came out this morning as promised and did a great job. I have a 3 story townhouse, hot water heater is in the attic so no easy task to replace. Dave and Jeff were great, very professional and really took care to clean up along with educate me on the new unit. Getting the unit down from the attic was tight, they told me about a new law coming into effect in April where water heaters must be insulated making them wider, so getting a new one in my attic would mean getting the opening enlarged first. Glad I did this now! I told my neighbor about it, she asked if they could look at hers and Dave was more than happy to do it. Great guys, highly recommend this company

All of the company representatives I dealt with were knowledgable, professional, and courteous. Installation was scheduled the same day as my initial call. The plumbers arrived promptly and removed/replaced a 50 gallon water heater in the attic of a three-story home in less than 2 hours. They took great care to protect my floors and cleaned up the area after the work was completed. And the final cost was actually less than the initial quote!

I purchased the service via Angies List late Friday night . I got a response Sunday Night. Monday morning We scheduled the Installation. They were here, to install, at 1 pm Monday afternoon. Gone by 2 pm. The Techs were very courteous and professional. I could not be happier.

We automatically change out our water heater every 7 years. So there was nothing wrong with our water heater, except it was 7 years old. Also, we wanted a plumber to come this month and be able to replace the water heater in our attic while it was still nice and cool in the attic. Surprisingly, Houston Water Heaters was able to come out the very next day after we phoned them. Since there is very little flooring in our attic, we were not able to go up into the attic and judge whether or not we had a 4 foot or 5 foot water heater. So Houston Water Heater brought both sizes in their truck to our home. Ryan (the plumber) and Roman (his assistant) were on time and friendly but professional. Before removing the old water heater, they drained the water out through a hose that stretched downstairs into our bathtub. We had been told when we made the appointment that it could take 2.5 hours to replace a water heater in an attic, but in only about one hour it was finished! There was one thing that Ryan had forgotten to do. After he and Roman left, we found (at our kitchen sink) a water indicator alarm. Ryan had planned on attaching this alarm to the pan underneath the water heater. (We have never had an alarm like this before and did not pay extra for this.) When we phoned Ryan and told him he had forgotten to install the alarm, he said he was sorry he forgot and would be out in a few days to attach it. Since we had paid them in full, we really did not think Ryan would be back to install this. However, within 2 business days he returned and installed the alarm--We were impressed and happy! Of course, we now would highly recommend Houston Water Heaters to everyone! .

We discovered Houston Water Heaters online and compared them with 3 other companies. We decided to give it a try after reading the reviews. Steve sent his crew the next day and within 2 hours, Gabriel and Roman completed their job. We had some safety concern regarding the gas line and they came back to address it. They are very efficient and very pleasant to work with. We will tell everyone about our good experience with them. Thank you Houston Water Heaters!

I bought the deal thinking I would get a discount on the total bill. I spoke to the owner and he explained it was the discount of the water heater being delivered to the front door. It was just a misunderstanding, not misleading. I decided I didn?t need the deal.

I called Steve in the morning who had David and Jeff come out in the afternoon. They had the old water heater in the garage removed and the new water heater installed by mid afternoon! All three were quite easy going and pleasant to talk to.

On Sunday morning, our neighbor noticed water coming from the water heater backup drain pipe in our yard. Upon inspection in the attic, the water heater was leaking. I immediately called HWH and they answered very promptly and within minutes they were able to schedule me for first thing Monday. They showed up as promised, got to work in earnest and completed the whole replacement in under 2 hrs. They were very careful, clean, and very professional. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

Excelllent service. Very professional and thorough. Removed old hot water heater, replaced with new 50 gallon Rheem gas unit. Required replacing cut-off valve. All new connections. And adjusted vent to ensure no carbon monoxide. Very careful in their work. Very meticulous and clean. Took the old unit away for disposal. I could not be more pleased.

came home from thanksgiving trip to find my water heater leaking out all over. called many plumbers, some from angies list and some not. got a few estimates and houston water heaters was the most reasonable. not only that but other shops were telling me it could be a couple of days before they could come out - these guys showed up within about 2 hours of my initial phone call. they gave me an hour time frame of when they should arrive and did arrive on time. very professional, friendly and courteous service all the way through the process. the techs that came out, gabriel and roman. were awesome! they explained everything that was happening and why, laid out plastic and runners on my carpet to be sure to keep everything nice and clean as they moved through the house with the new and old equipment. even helped mop up the water that had flooded the room. really went the extra mile on this. i highly recommend these folks.

I first used Houston Water Heaters back in 2010. I replaced one water heater and the whole experience went really well. On Monday November 10th, I noticed that I had a continuous water leak outside. This was around 4:30 pm. I figured out that it was the water heater. I verified that Houston Water heaters still had good reviews on Angie's list. I called them around 4:50 pm. Similar to last time, I talked to a very helpful person. He scheduled me for between 9:00 and 9:30 am the next morning. I received a phone around 8:30 pm confirming my appointment. They arrived around 9:15 am. They were done around 11 am. They had laid tarps everywhere so there was no mess at all. I highly recommend Houston Water Heaters.

I called in the morning, received a firm price and scheduled installation for the afternoon. David arrived on time and we quickly discovered I needed a different size 40 gallon appliance. He and his helper left to pick it up, quickly returned and completed the work. He explained the buttons and dials and warranty paperwork. David was professional, efficient and thorough. I recommend Houston Warer Heaters.

I called Houston Water Heaters around 8:30 am on a Friday after our 18-year-old water heater died. They gave me a firm quote over the phone and said they would have someone out the same day. Their technician contacted me within five minutes of my hanging up with the office and said he would be at my house around 11:00 am. I wasn't certain about the size (short or tall) water heater, so he brought both sizes just to be on the safe side (both 40-gallon gas water heaters by Rheem). He and his helper arrived at 11:15 am and got right to work. They laid out protective covers on my floors and cleaned up after themselves. By 12:45 pm they were done and gone. Both men were worked hard and diligently and were very polite and answered all my questions. I was very impressed with their demeanor and work ethic, as well as the work that was done. I possibly could have found a cheaper water heater and service fee, but they were able to deal with it immediately and that was my priority. I am very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them..

I called them with the manufacturer and model number of my 8 1/2 year old water heater to get and estimate for replacement. They gave me a firm quote and setup the appointment. They could have come the same day if I needed them to. They showed up on time and replaced the water heater and accessories as quoted. They were very professional and my whole experience with them was great. I wish they could have done a few other plumbing items, but they only replace water heaters.

I spoke to Steve Williams by phone on the morning of 7/21 to discuss having an existing water heater replaced in the attic of my 3 story townhome. He gave me a quote and told me his guys could come the next day to install. I received a call later that day from David who scheduled a time with me the next day. David and Luis showed up as expected, quickly inspected the existing unit, layed down protective sheets, and got right to work. They had the water heater replaced with a new Rheem Fury unit in less than 2 hours. These guys clearly know what they are doing and instilled a level of confidence in me that is somewhat rare in the home repair/service industry. No BS. No sitting around. They were very good. I called them when I had the need and they were responsive to the call. They came out the next day and gave me a couple of different options; one to replace a full water heater with the tank and one with a tank less water heater. They were able to come to the house and do replacement the next day and we were able to do that in a short order. I was satisfied with the work that was performed. I wasn't at the house when they did the work; just the techniques they do in working on the roof I was just personally concerned about their safety in doing the work that was performed. They were on time. I would use them again.

I called this company on Saturday to info on installing a new water heater. They called me back Sunday afternoon to schedule installation on Monday morning. Techs Gabriel and Mike came out Monday morning, on time, and replaced my old water heater with a new Rheem 40 gallon gas water heater. They also replace with new water lines, gas lines, gate vales, new pan, new alarm included. Took less than 2 hours, cleaned up & did an outstanding professional job, got it up and running. Showed me basic operations. Great price & service ! Highly recommended!!!!

This is the most unethical company I have ever encountered in 33 years of home maintenance issues. The water heater they installed had 3 elements go out in 6 months. After the 3rd one went out, the owner of the company (Steve Williams) told us that he was "personally voiding the warranty," and left us high and dry with a $1700 water heater that wasn't working. We used a different plumbing company who worked with Rheem to get us a new replacement water heater. It turns out there was a possible electrical issue inside the tank itself. All Steve Williams (or any of his employees) of Houston Water Heaters had to do was put in a few extra minutes of time to contact Rheem to see what the issue could be. We had to pay the other plumbing company, an electrician and also a water quality expert to try to find out why the elements kept failing, all to find out it was a defective water heater. Mr. Williams was extremely rude and arrogant to me on the phone, as well as to the water quality expert when he called Williams to try to give him information that could have helped the situation. My next step will be to contact the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint.

I was very pleased with the process. I had received two other bids on replacing my water heater, and estimates ranged from $879 to $2200. I went with Houston Water Heaters not because they had the lowest price, but because they only work in water heaters (even though they are master plumbers), offered multiple brands and they did not insist I had to meet all aspects of the existing city code, as one bidder insisted. I had already called the city of Houston to double check what was required for a change out, and Houston Water Heaters understood what codes needed to be met, and wanted to install just what was necessary. Additionally, they had a special on which covered the size and type water heater I needed, and were able to schedule me in the next day. Dusty and Nathan came out at 2:00 on Saturday, and by 4:00 they were done. Would have gone faster if my old 14 year old unit wasn't slow at draining out. They were very informative about what they were doing and why. They also told me what I needed to do to maintain the water heater to extend its life, and were very pleasant to deal with. They cleaned up when done, and the water heater worked perfectly. The office scheduled my inspection with the city for the day I requested, and the inspection passed with no issues. So rather than install unneeded disconnect switches, electrical outlets, flood stop devices, etc. that would have amounted to $2200 to bring my water heater set up 100% to the new residential codes, I got just what was required at a very fair price with no headaches. (WH and install was $765, city permit was $114). I would highly recommend them.

They scheduled a same day appointment and completed work. They were a little late, but when I called they told me why and did show up later and completed the work. Great company!
