They were okay. They provided accurate information and told me about the service call. It was warranty work being done. They didn't prepare me ahead of time about everything. They came out and looked at it and said they had to order a part. It took them a couple of weeks to get the part. They called and said they had it and they scheduled another visit and the guy came out. In order to put that part on, he needed to take other parts off, which required him to order more parts, so it was going to be a third trip out. They only charged one service call but they didn't plan ahead very well. I didn't look around for price and they were about the only one that I had to choose from.

I called C & J to fix my broken ice maker. They couldn't get to me for 2 weeks. They came out as scheduled and the repairman was courteous and punctual. He looked at the ice maker for less than a minute and was able to tell that it needed to be replaced. He left, saying the company would check on the price of a new ice maker and would get back to me, which they did. They told me at that time the part was $129, which I OK'd. I also asked what other charges there would be and the man told me labor might run about $30. The repairman came out again another 2 weeks later to replace the ice maker and he was again punctual and courteous. He changed out the icemaker in about 15 minutes. Then he told me my total was $250!!! I was shocked as this was $100 more than the man in the office had told me, even when I specifically asked him about all charges. Turns out there's a $79.50 service charge that no one bothered telling me about. I thought this was very unfair and sneaky!

Aside from the standard icemaker we have in our kitchen refrigerator, we also have a stand-alone icemaker for large parties. This made ice just fine most of the time but not always. C & J set an appointment with us to repair it a few days after we called. They arrived on time and had all the parts they needed to fix it with them. It was fixed in less than an hour. This was the type of service we are not accustomed to, but it was welcome.

C&J took my call quickly and stopped by to give an estimate. Their prices were very good, and they explained the timer in the cycle that makes the gears shift on the washer. The repair was scheduled as soon as a day and time were set, and the technician was on time. He pulled out the washer, took off the panel, replaced the timer, and put the panel back on. He tested it to make sure it worked, and he left everything clean. He did an excellent job and left me with his card.
