They were a little harder to get in touch with than I preferred, but I was very satisfied with their work.

Was told of things that were needed that I was aware of. Prices were cheaper then another company that came out in 2012!

My 28 year old gas furnace was on its last leg (R.I.P.) , we knew this day was coming, but this has been an outstanding furnace, never gave us any problems. I was searching for a new service provider and read the reviews on Angie's List about Ed and All Star Heating & AC; was impressed by all the good things that people had written. I called Ed and he immediately came to my house and inspected the furnace; there were a couple of things going bad, said we could replace the motor but felt the furnace should really be replaced due to its old age (again, we knew this, so didn't feel at all like we were pressured to put in a new furnace). All of this happened close to the week-end, the weather outlook was warm, so we decided to sleep on it; Ed had the old unit running so we weren't worried should it turn cold; which it did. thank you Ed for getting the old furnace running; he said that he would not leave us in the cold and he didn't! We decided soon to replace the furnace; the smell of burnt hair when the unit kicked on, the constant shutting on and shutting off, these were signs that the furnace was on its last leg. We called Ed and our new furnace was installed; great service, great install, great guys who installed it, great clean up, great follow up and inspection by Ed (there was one little thing that Ron wanted changed after the install and Ed took care of it immediately). We would highly recommend Ed and All Star!

Came out Friday to diagnose furnace motor issue, made a small repair and charged me nothing, since I might need to replace the motor if it failed again, which it did Saturday night. I left Ed a message and he called me first thing Monday morning with an 11am arrival to replace the motor. He was 10-15 minutes early and got to work immediately. He's business partner came around about quarter to noon as he was in the area and helped Ed complete the job. They were both courteous, professional, responsive to questions, and careful to keep the house cleared of any debris. As a result, I started a service contract with All Star and think I will be as pleased with their service in the future as I am now.

Ed is great guy! They are very informative and explain every detail of their work. He came out on Christmas week and made a special stop for us because it was supposed to get cold the next day, I would absolutely recommend this company any day of the week!!

I set the appointment in November. The technician called ahead and arrived on time. He inspected the heating system. At the end he informed of one item that was not working properly, and told me it was not critical to fix but could eventually fail and need replacing. He gave me a quote for replacing that part. In January I called the company and said I wanted to go ahead and have that part replaced. I set an appointment. The morning of that appointment the technician called and said the distributor did not have that part in stock, and he would have to call back when the distributor did have it. As of today, it's been about 2 weeks since that call and I have not heard anything.

Our old air conditioning unit would only take R-22 Freon, which is been phased out by the federal government and costs a small fortune if a system has a leak. Unfortunately, because our evaporator coil was leaking in the air handler, we had the choice of paying $350 every time the system leaked (which was about every month) to install an entirely new system that would take R410A Freon, Since the system was over 20 years old, we decided to replace. All Star gave us a solid bid, and we asked them to do the work. Everyone from All Star was prompt and professional from beginning to end. The service installers were excellent. They had to replace the air handler in a tiny attic by crawling through a " scuttle hatch," which they did without complaint or additional charges. They were compulsively neat about their work making sure to put down drop cloths every where and cleaning up after themselves. The owner, Ed, was there most of the time supervising his installers. The price was in line with everyone else who bid the project, and considerably lower than some. After the installation, Ed came back several days later to check to make sure work was done correctly and everything was functioning properly. He discovered we needed a new breaker for the heating system, which Ed bought and replaced at no charge. He is also scheduled to return later to check the condenser when it is warm enough outside to make sure it has the right amount of Freon and is working properly. We also bought a service contract with All Star which, although slightly more expense than others we have seen, consists of a fifty point inspection checklist. We have had other service contracts for only slightly less money and the technicians come and are gong in five minutes. We are very happy with All Star and would recommend them to anyone who wants repair or installation of heating and air conditioning units.

When the motor went out it was of course on a Friday night and on a weekend in the middle of summer. I thought it would be days before I could get anybody to come out. I called 5-6 other people on Angie's list trying to get somebody to answer our call of distress. Chris was the only one that called us right back that night, and said he would be over in the morning. He showed up with a few potential spare parts, and immediate went to see what the problem with. He review the equipment and luckily found that it was just the outside fan motor that was bad. Of course they don't make our model anymore but he had the foresight to bring a suitable replacement motor with him. After only a few hours of installation and modification, he fixed it checked our system, topped the system off with freon and we back to experience a pleasant nights sleep. Overall the repair could have been more sever and more expensive. I hate spending any money in repairs, but owning a home its a necessary evil. I plan on calling these guys whenever I have problems with AC or heating system. They made me extremely happy when others failed at the task, plus I wasn't charged a weekend service charge or special fee because of it was the weekend.

It went well. They came out quickly and took care of it right away.

Ed came on very short notice and was on time and he replaced a Honeywell thermostat for me. It took him less than a half hour. This company is just terrific. When I asked him if that was all I needed to pay, he said yes - more money for presents for Christmas. These guys ( Chris and Ed) are very professional, easy going and just terrific service guys. Called All Star when my AC was not working because they have been great on 2 or 3 previous occasions. Someone came to determine the problem within about an hour. The condenser was bad and needed to be replaced. The next issue was about what I should do. Buying a new one when within the next year I plan to replace the entire AC & heating unit? When ac/heat system replacement is done a new condenser, fan -outside thing is included.. ... Not sure I understand all of it, but the AWESOME news is that my guy offered me a used condenser for about 1/2 of the cost to tide me over until I replace all!!! Brilliant!!

My parents 56 year old heater went out just as a cold snap was approaching. Having no idea who to call, we turned to Angie's List. Chris came out and evaluated the heater and determined it needed to be replaced. I think John and Steve came out to do the actual replacement the very next day. Everyone my parents dealt with was very polite and professional and took care to explain what was needed and why. Since I placed the original call, Chris called me to make sure that we all understood what was needed. The older my parents get, the more I appreciate everyone who treats them well. My parents were completely at ease with the people doing the work. We are all satisfied with the work performed and the final cost. We will all definitely call All Star for our future needs and will recommend them to anyone who needs their services

Were on time, very professional, and told us exactly what was wrong and what needed to be done about it.In and out very quickly but it was exactly what we needed.

Did not charge me for a service call. If I actually have a real problem - they are the ones that I am going to call

After reading reviews on who to call for my heating repair, I started reading all the reviews i could. I came across All Star Heating and AC. The reviews seemed promising. I called early Sunday morning and was called back to get information on what was happening with the heater. There was no heat coming out and only cold air was blowing out of the ducts. Ed called ahead of time and stated he was on his way. He was professional throughout. I do service work for a living, so I know professionalism when i see it. It turns out that it was just the pilot needed to be lit. Long story short, I've found my new ac go to company. I cant say enough about Ed and All Star. Now my home is nice and toasty.

He was prompt, friendly and affordable.

We had the technician check the AC. They were very responsive and came out 1 week after purchasing the deal. One technician came out and completed the job in about 1 hour. He was polite and very nice. We have hired them to come back out next year.

Needed a different deal for another type of service.

I needed an estimate on the cost to get my evaporator coil replaced. I spoke with Tara at All Star and she informed me they do free estimates and to request a refund from Angie's list.

I requested an appointment for All Star to inspect my AC unit because it was making a lot of noise while running. The appointment was accepted and confirmed very quickly and Ed came on the appointment date at the exact time scheduled. He inspected our unit and made his recommendations. We were very impressed with his professional demeanor and knowledge. He also addressed the problem we were concerned about and did not attemtp to pressure us into getting more services than was necessary, as other companies in the past did. Also, the price was extremely reasonable.

I purchased a service call deal from Angie's List for All Star, then called and asked if they could possibly come out that day (Saturday) as we had had a lightning strike the night before. Ed was there within 2 hours, found the problem, and fixed it. I felt the price was reasonable, especially for a week-end call.

It went great! The unit has held up fine since they came out to do the work. They sent one person and they finished the tune-up in about an hour. They left everything perfectly clean, too. This was the first time I had used them, and I would use them again in the future as well as recommend them to others.

The Technician called before arriving and showed up on time (Actually was earlier than scheduled). He wanted to know why I thought that the units needed cleaning. I told him that the measured current on my large unit was too high (about 20 amps which was causing the unit to trip the circuit breaker) and that both units were not cooling properly. After inspecting the outside condenser coils and both upstairs evaporator coils the technician recommended that I clean the outside condenser coils and one of the upstairs evaporator coils. He also recommended installing a hard start kits on the compressor motors to reduce the startup load. After completing the work, both units were running perfectly and the large unit was running at 14 amps. This reduction in amperage should dramatically reduce my electric bill in the coming months. I was very pleased that the technician correctly diagnosed the problem, took the time to explain the problem to me and got both units back operating properly (the company that I called previously had recommended that I replace the unit). I will definitely be using All Star for any future AC work.

On Sunday, as my wife and I were about to leave to do some shopping, we noticed the air had stopped blowing in the house but the exterior unit was still running. The house had gotten very warm and I was not looking forward to being without A/C for the number of days I suspected it would take to get a repairman out and get the problem fixed. As luck would have it, I bumped into Ed (he was wearing his All Star A/C shirt) in the store and asked him about my problem. He politely have me some helpful advice and his business card. Soon after, we scheduled an appointment for the next morning and Ed arrived on schedule. We started with replacing the capacitor, which turned out to not be the problem. After that, Ed narrowed the problem down to the control board, which he was able to find in stock at a local parts house. Once the new control board was installed, the unit functioned normally again. For years, I've had another A/C issue that has bothered us. One bedroom in our home did not cool properly and had poor airflow from the vent. While we were in the attic, I pointed this out to Ed and he explained that the duct run to this room was not ideal. He suggested a more direct run straight from the unit. I asked Ed to take care of it and he did. This added about $200 to the cost of the job. As I did not take any other bids on this job, it's difficult for me to comment on pricing. I'm always a bit surprised by the cost of HVAC-related parts. For this job, the control board was was $515 and the capacitor was $125 for my 5 ton Amana unit. Ed's service was great. He's a genuinely nice guy who understands how to run a customer-friendly service business, as is demonstrated by All Star's stellar reputation. I'll use Ed again and will recommend his company to others.

The install went very well. Crew showed up and proceeded to work diligently from start to finish. Ed came back when the job was done to make sure system was working properly and to our satisfaction. House was cool by bedtime as promised.
