Great work. I've had Abacus install a tankless water heater, and replace all my water piping. Whenever I need any plumbing work done I call them.

replaced supply line and water in-take part in back of toilet. |I was impressed by their speed and thoroughness at the time. I was not impressed with the price. Especially in lieu of the fact that I had located them through Angie's list. The surprise came later on when I now find that I have to periodically reattach the wire to the rubber flap that was not repaired appropriately which should have been the simplest part of the job.

I called in the morning for a same day service and the people on the phone were very nice and helpful. They found a way to work me into their schedule by giving me an after-hours service. I think their price was higher than what others would have charged for the service, excluding the $150 after-hours fee.. The resolution seemed to be to fix thngs that were not broken (of course at charge) and then there will be no problems going forward. In an emergency it will get fixed, but it may be more than you needed. I did not feel educated on the options or that there were options.

Professional, timely arrival, representative explained the steps they would take well. They would probably do the job well. The do sub-contract the tunneling to one of three or four companies that everyone else works with in Houston. The problem is that they wanted $52000 for the entire job, which is ridiculously expensive. I had two other reputable companies come out, one quoted about 25000, the other which i hired got it done for 19900. The job was fully permitted through the city and inspected, no corner cutting to achieve a lower cost. There is no justification for double the cost. Do your research, their prices are not competitive at all.

Prices seemed absorbent. In addition to the prices above I was quoted $395 to pull a toilet and replace the wax ring. Will not use this company in the future.

The man they sent was very thorough, very professional and fun to chat with. He went above and beyond what I expected with his service. The prices are a bit high, but the responsiveness and thoroughness make it worth it.

They did a great job! When I called they couldn't fit us in on the Saturday, but came on Sunday and worked all day replacing two water heaters. They were very professional, clean and nice! They answered questions kindly.

Technician David, arrived as scheduled. He presented in a clearly marked company van and was in uniform. David was professional, courteous and amicable. He readily explaned what he was going to do, the nature of the needed repair and the cost. The work was performed in a timely manner. When the work was completed David went over exactly what he had done. Abacus has been out to our home on one prior occassion with the same outstanding performance.

I had noticed a water stain on my first floor dining room ceiling which is directly under the upstairs bathroom. My townhouse is 34 years old, and has no access panel to the plumbing, and I suspected the pipe behind the shower wall was leaking. It was Sunday, and Abacus had no available Sunday appointments, so I chose the after hours service, not knowing if the leak would get worse through the day. The technician (Timmy) arrived at 5:30, assessed the problem, told me he would need to cut into the wall behind the shower and under the vanity to see the pipes, and when he did, discovered a very old, corroded pipe that had developed the leak, and would have to be replaced. But in order to do so he would also have to cut into the dining room ceiling (as I had anticipated). He talked me through each step of the process, and was able to remove the old pipe and replace it, along with an old valve and all is working again. He was done, cleaned up and gone before 8:00. Timmy was very professional, patient and knowledgeable, and I felt he had a good understanding of the situation from the beginning. At each step he outlined what needed to be done along with the costs involved. I was very glad it didn't turn out to be a bigger problem - now I just have to fix the hole in my ceiling, as they do not do sheetrock repairs. The cost was $770, but Abacus had a coupon for $50 off which I was able to use - thanks Abacus!

They are excellent. I had run a new sewer line from the back of my house to attach to the city sewer and it turned out that it ran under a huge live oak that I love. They took a lot of care to make sure that the tree would live. They had lots of people working on it, sometimes four, five people at a time and they did a wonderful job. I am very pleased with them. I think the price is fair and the service is a good thing to have. They are a heating and air conditioning service, plumbing. The heating and air program you only pay $99 a year and they come out once to check your air conditioning and once to check your heater. The guy that did the air conditioning, he was real good too.

They are professional, prompt, and cleaned up after themselves. They are also very dependable and reliable.

David Cuevas was very helpful and understanding!! I thoght my A/C was going out. It was a simple fix and he also gave me tips on how to keep it so it would last me a long time, David was on time and got the job done.

Arrived on time, looked at work we needed performed, needed a new shut off valve to the house and fix a dripping shower head. My husband didn't even get to fixing the shower head he was to stunned over the price for the valve. They apparently also charge $49.00 for service call that we were not informed of and refused to pay, so he waived it. This was our third estimate and we had fully intended to have them fix it since we got the information off of angies list, with their A rating, until he gave us the price. First thought was, "Are you out of your mind!" he wanted $496.00 to replace a shut off valve, this being our third estimate and by far the most expensive by a long shot, we sent him on his way. We will get it replace for $150.00 on Monday with one of his competitors. I must say we are a bit disappointed by the A rating, I suppose they do good work but for the price, we don't have money to throw away. I would suggest people shop around to get the best price, you won't find it here.

I had an emergency. I had at least one big leak in my home gas line. Centerpoint had cut off my gas and taken my meter. Abacus plumbers Daniel and Eloy had the difficult job of finding leaks in my gas line. There was more than one. They first inspected the entire premises and told me about the potential issues I had to address before all the leaks could be found. It was a long two days work because 1) it was difficulty to determine where the second leak was and once discovered, 2) the pipe under my home was very old and difficult to get out. Once that old pipe was removed the work of installing the new line from the meter to the house and the pipe under the house went well. The new water heater was installed with its proper vent and release valves. All gas connections for my gas appliances were properly installed, according to the City of West University inspector. The work trough in my yard was neatly dug and then neatly covered over by other workers. I don't know the name of the supervisor but he was very attentive also. All the plumbing work was discussed and planned with me ahead of time. I had full knowledge of what was happening. The plumbers were very informative, pleasant, wanted to do a good job and took pride in their work. The men who dug up the yard, especially the supervisor, was very attentive. One unresolved issue: I just discovered that my gas dryer , which was working before the repairs, doesn't work. No heat. I hope it will be repaired today. :-) I did become an Abacus club member because I think they do good work, and there is a discount offered with membership. I thank Angie's list for helping me decide who to call for my plumbing needs.

Came on a Sunday (no extra charge), explained the situation and gave us several options for repair. We chose to replace the leaking pipe. They worked quickly and efficiently and were very clean and courteous. Very knowledgable.

No issues with the work this morning other than it took twice as long for the plumber to get a quote from his manager than it did to do the work. I paid $204.95 to have the hot & cold water lines and drain capped. I was then given of quote of $1288.00 to reconnect the lines after the new island cabinets were installed. I asked for a breakdown of charges because the amount seemed excessive. The plumber said the estimate was based on around 4 hours of work plus materials, but couldn't break it down by labor/supplies. I have to assume the hourly rate must be around $300 because I cant imagine a couple feet of materials being more than $100. I think its great to have a flat rate for the common stuff like replacing a water heater, etc. They need a better system for other plumbing work. I have no concerns about the quality of their work but think Abacus is way over priced.

I called to have a disposal repaired. It did not need much as it was simply stuck. The service was prompt but the repairman and a trainee spent too much time trying to talk me into a service warrantee prior to even looking at the problem. I became aggravated because I called for repair. It would have been better if they diagnosed the problem prior to trying to talk you for 20 minutes into a continued warrantee program, particularly first time service callers. He also sounded like a robot talking to me. I will never call Abacus again. Appreciate the more humane and down to earth repairmen that can think outside the box and charge accordingly.

Bill is awesome. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He provided several maintenance tips to prevent future issues. I will use Abacus again.

We were 100% satisfied and thrilled with our experience, and the professional service professional made a major repair, a very simple and easy situation to handle within our Home. Being one of the most expensive repairs we have ever made in our Home, we were nervous about the results, but have been so happy to see our electric bill has gone down, and we are benefiting greatly from the fantastic system that was installed.

Provider arrived at 4:00 PM and said the price would be $300.00 before even getting out and looking at the problem. I said that seemed very high for not even looking at the problem. I eneded up having to go to home depot and renting a snake for $45 and cleared the drain in 10 minutes. The people that arrived were not courteous or helpful. I would not recommend this company for any service.

We called Abacus after a gas leak was detected on an exterior gas line. We used Abacus before for plumbing issues and were very happy. We ended up with the same service man, Don. They came out within 30 minutes of my call and inspected the leak. The next day service was performed. Don was kind enough to arrive earlier, just so we could get the repairs done in time for the inspector. Since it was a Friday, the last possible inspection was at 2 PM. Don and team repaired the gas leak and two additional leaks that were identified and fixed. This was all performed quickly and efficiently letting me know each time they encountered a new leak and how they would fix it. They made all repairs and called the inspector. Obviously their team did quality work because the inspector approved the work quickly. Had we used less qualified plumbers I doubt this would have happened. Don and team helped to turn all of our gas switches back on in the house and cleaned up their work area. They walked us through the next steps on how to call the gas company to get our gas back on. Thankfully Abacus offer GE Financing to help pay for this expensive service. The permit and inspection alone was $400. I rated Price as Good, because I know that Abacus tend to be more expensive. Although I could have found a cheaper plumber, we were dealing with a safety issue, and we have more comfort knowing we used professionals. They helped make a very stressful situation much easier on us. Don and team were very knowledgeable, professional and were very concerned to not dirty the floors with their shoes. I should also mention that we signed up for the Abacus club membership, so the prices noted were with a 15% off discount. I highly recommend Don if you call for service. We had our gas back on my 8 PM that same service day! Impressive!

Came same day and arrived early. Cut into wall behind sink and found a cut pipe someone had "fixed" with just duct tape. Also found a copper pipe that had a leak that was unprofessionally fixed with a clamp. Repaired all issues and gave us the name of someone who could come fix the drywall. Very nice & friendly technician. We would definitely use them again. :)
