Abacus Plumbing, Air Conditioning and Electrical

We have used Abacus in the past to replace water pipes in our attic feeding to the upstairs bathrooms and they met our expectations. When our neighbors tree caused our main water line going from the meter to the house we decided since we knew we could trust good service from Abacus we called and scheduled an appointment. Eddie came out after hours and dug around our neighbors tree trying to locate the water line and ran into some hefty roots. He finally dug farther away from the tree and was able to locate the water line. He gave us three quotes which we chose the one that was more affordable for us. After we were approved for the financing we were scheduled for the crew to come out and dig the new trench for the new water line. Gary was very polite and was a joy to work with, he even gave me the contact information to give our neighbor to have the problem tree taken down before it broke her main water line. Eddie came out and ran the new water line and all was completed within about 4 hours. We are pleased with Eddie and his professionalism and would recommend him to others in need of plumbing work.

We told him to get lost because they estimate was so high. We ended up getting the service done by another company for 1200.00.

I had an emergency plumbing situation - my hot water heater had water coming out the top, the sides and the bottom and I had water coming through my ceiling due to the leak. When I called them at 4:30 a.m. to explain the situation (and again at 5:00 a.m.) I was told that they did not have emergency service at this hour and they would not be able to help me. When I called at 5:00 and asked when the earliest they could come - (after again explaining the situation) I was told after hours on Friday. (My call is on Thursday morning.) So much for emergency service. False advertising that they have emergency service. I called them because my neighbor raved about them. In fact, my neighbor and I were going to have them install 4 hot water heaters (2 for my neighbor and 2 for me) once we got the estimate on Friday. Needless to say, I will not be buying hot water heaters from Abacus and I don't know if my neighbor will now.

I set up the time and the plumber arrived as requested. Very courteous, friendly and efficient. Finished the job in record time.

After over a week of sending emails and leaving voice-mail messages, I was not able to schedule an appointment. In my last call the CSR (plumbing) was very rude and hung-up on me stating she can not assist me in scheduling an appointment. If it's this hard to set an initial appointment - I can not image the type of service I would receive if I contracted with them to install a tank-less system. First impressions are important! They were great. The technician listened for about 30 minutes while I tried to replicate the noise that we thought was making the leak sound. He never acted like I was crazy :-) or that he was in a hurry to get to the next appointment. I was very surprised that he was so willing to let me try over and over again. He did a great job installing the toilet. He cleaned up everything afterward. Just a side note: when we had an emergency situation at 11pm on a holiday weekend several months ago, they were the ONLY people that were willing to send someone out. We called a few people off Angies list and they either didn't have someone to send or they didn't even return our phone call. The job took a few hours and the tech was here until after midnight. He could not have been nicer even through I was sure this isn't were he wanted to be!! :-) Have had very good service from the for years.

The pipe repair in the attic went very fast. Working on the shower and mixer was another matter. He spent several hours making it right because the original work was shoddy. I absolutely trust his work, very good company.

Work was completed in one day very efficiently

Ziggy arrived as scheduled - he was very conscientious, professional, and friendly. He quickly evaluating the situation and got to work. I've had great experiences with their plumbing and AC service in the past; Ziggy is the manager of their new Electrical service - I would definitely use them again in the future. A+!

He noted that the toilet was leaking at the base and he would have to remove it to find the cause. He pulled the toilet and said I would need a new wax seal and he would run a cable to fix the stoppage. He said the total cost for that work including replacement of the wax ring would be $442.00. However, if I agreed to buy a contract with the company for $126.00, then I would get a discount on future work. This seemed like a good deal so I agreed to his completing the work under contract. When he cleared the toilet he said that he didn't find anything in the line, but he told me that his cable always turned upward when he ran it. Since the toilet was now flushing okay, I accepted the job as complete. Six months later I had a recurrence of the same problem. I pulled out my invoice to call ABACUS to come out again. However, this time I read what he wrote and looked carefully at the bill, he made no mention of the fact that the cable didn't run along the sewer. he simply said that he ran a cable to clear a stoppage. Secondly, contrary to my expectations, he charged me for a service call in addition to the cost of all the work performed. When I read his writeup felt that I had been duped because I am again having the same problem and I feel that probably it was caused by his not cleaning my sewer line the first time. Since he made no mention in the invoice of what he verbally told me, I believed I had no grounds for complaint. Consequently, I have chosen another company to do my plumbing this time and I plan never to use ABACUS again.

He fixed a leak in the water control panel. He made a minimal drywall cut so that it didn't look any different. Minimum charge due to quick fix.

I used them a couple of years ago, and they ripped me off. They sent a guy over, who is very charming, and who sat and chatted with me, and he was very very nice. Then when he finally got to working on the toilet, he found out that it was a broken bowl. I trusted this guy, and asked him if I should just replace the toilet, and he said that he actually had a toilet sitting on the truck. This is a bathroom in a bedroom that I have never used. I went ahead with trusting this guy, and he replaced the toilet, and I never used it until a couple of months later. I didn't know about the prices of toilets until I checked later. He installed a toilet that cost less than $100, and it was some sort of an institutional toilet. It is one of those water saver toilet, and you have to flush it about 3 times to clear it, and they charged me $800 for the job. I am a woman that lives alone, and I got messed by this guy. I checked prices at Home Depot and other places, and it cost less than $100, it is substandard. It is not able to fill up with water, and you have to flush it 3 times to clean it. It took him 15 minutes to solve the problem. I was stupid to have trusted him. I am woman, and I was alone, and I made a mistake of trusting him. I called them up, and I wanted the same guy to come out, and this was before I knew better. The receptionist repeated every question that I asked her, it was obvious somebody was next to her, and she said that he was no longer with me. They sent somebody out to redo the job, and he did the job fine. While he was here, I have a filter under the sink, and my parents had put it in, I asked him if he could show me how to unscrew it. Not for him to do it, but just give me a little pointers. He said he would have to charge me $95 to do that. I thought that was bad. I was shocked.

Two technician came by and gave an estimate. They were early and didn't charge. We plan on using them in the future for the repairs required.

Service awesome price too high

I loved them. They were awesome. They were very responsive. Their folks were knowledgable. I can't say enough good things. I would highly recommend them. We would definetly consider using them again. They came out in a very short period of time. I thought they were very reasonable with price at the time, but check today's pricing.

They did great work. Very good company to work with. The guys are very professional and always leave it clean after the work is completed.

They are very good at what they do. Very responsive and always call 30 to 45 minutes ahead of arrival time. All the guys I have dealt with have been very professional. They are very neat when they come in and they leave it neat when they leave. A very good company to deal with.

I have a contract with them and they come twice a year. They are very responsive. If I have an emergency I have not had any problems getting them to come out.

The installers were very professional, on time, kept me informed of the progress. They did a great job and I would absolutely use this again. This vendor was contracted through Home Depot and installed the water heater on the same day. It was not as cheap as I could have contracted for with another vendor using the angie list specials, but I was able to get this installed on the same day and the difference in price was not that much. It was worth it to me. thanks again for a great job.

Arrived on time, professional attitude and appearance. Did the inspection and gave the report. No problems to report. And yes, there was an upgrade to the equipment that could be done, but no pressure to do so!

Did not perform the service.

We've used them many times over the years. Being a member really helps because if you need service, you get priority over non-members. They've done a tankless water heater install, water filtration and softening install, full bathroom remodel, and many other smaller projects. We've always had excellent, reliable service, and we've never had any problems with the work they have performed. The few small issues we have had, they come back and fix everything for free. We use them for all of our plumbing and HVAC needs.

Our 14 yr old water heater started leaking. They were onsite and working the day after I called. One serviceman showed up and planed the job. He wore covers on his shows the entire time was professional and explained the whole job. We ordered the water heaters and another serviceman arrived with the new water heaters and the two of them removed the old heaters and installed the new ones. Very uneventful job. Our City requires a permit to do this work and Abacus handled all that. The city inspector came out a couple days later and required some additional work be done on the vent. I saw what the inspector wanted changed and it was so minor I thought it was ridiculous, but it required Abacus to send out a roofer. They did all this at no additional charged and managed the whole thing. I would use them again.

Great. Proffessional, prompt, on schedule and very courteous

The technician showed up on time and gave me three suggestions to fix my problem. 1, he said that he could re-build my current faucet for $365.00. 2,. he could replace my faucet if I purchase a faucet on my own which would be $375.00 for the labor charges plus whatever I paid for a faucet from the hardware store. 3, I could purchase a faucet from abacus and have him replace my faucet for around $650.00. I choose to go with option 1 and have my current faucet re-built, which is not actually a re-build in my opinion, its just basically a cleaning of the corrosion built up inside of the faucet. That terminology just actually sound better so that they can charge more money. My only concern is the cost. I do-not think that taking the faucet apart and cleaning the grime and corrosion from the inside of the faucet should cost $315.00. Keep in mind it was only $315.00 because I had a $50.00 coupon.
