Called abacus on Sunday at 8am to check our heater that had stopped coming on the previous day. The technician arrived at 9:30. He had things working in an hour. Not sure are always this prompt but for me this was a huge win to get someone so quickly on a Sunday saved a lot of time and a day off work. total fee was 50 and for a Sunday call I felt that was very reasonable. My call did not require any parts etc

EXTREMELY IMPRESSED by how promptly Carmen from Abacus contacted me for the initial scheduling response. She even offered same day service. The plumber, Chris C., arrived early and evaluated the control head and the entire system and found a simple fix. He made recommendations for future care of the system. It seemed that his work experience was more w/ the more popular/current digital heads than mechanical heads. Will definitely use again when the resin needs to be exchanged.

This company is first-class and is allowed into my home as I am a card-carrying member of Angie's list and they do such good work. Technicians are very good about explaining what they are doing and why so that I understand what was done and why.

Called at 4pm and Tech was in area so he came over in about 30min and fixed the leak.

I purchased this service from Angie's List to inspect rumbling in my gas water heater. The unit has been working flawlessly, just began making a gurgling noise when the heat was on. Provider did not perform services for 6 days after purchase. After an inspection of the water heater, plumber stated I should replace connections (which had nothing at all to do with why I placed the service call), since they appeared to have leaked in the past??? I asked if they were leaking now, and he said no. He quoted $248 just to replace connections, which is outrageous. After a full home plumbing inspection, no other work could be found. The rep then returned and asked if anyone had worked on the tank recently, which I informed him no. He proceeded to tell me there was some tape on a portion of the pilot control, and he had to cut off my water heater until it was repaired (again, nothing to do with why the service call was placed)!!! I explained to the rep that I was handicapped and unable to reach the attic to relight the pilot, nor would I tolerate being left without hot water. He begrudgingly turned the heater back on, stating he wouldn't be liable for anything. Prior to the rep leaving, I inquired as to a ballpark estimate of replacement cost for my heater, to which he stated $1800-$2000. This is double the offer available from another vendor on Angie's List at the time. It was obvious this vendor (and rep) were trying to find additional work to do for which they could bill. When none could be found, he attempted to leave my services disconnected and force work to be paid for. Abacus should not be allowed on Angie's List while conduction business in this unethical and shameful manner!!!

I was pleasantly surprised they were able to squeeze me in for same day service. The technician was pleasant and very professional as well as displayed knowledge you would expect. The technician even waited around for my wife and myself to discuss our options and worked until after midnight to complete the job. I was a little surprised at the installation price for labor. Also I was not happy with the company trying to sell the club membership. I felt if I am already spending a few thousand dollars, I dont need an extra 126 added to my bill for services i may or may not use. Outside of that, it was a pleasant experience and I will use them again.

These people are awesome right from the person who took our initial phone call on a Sunday right on down to the technician, installers and the guy who kept us apprised of their arrival times. They were knowledgeable, timely, very professional and cleaned up after themselves with no encouragement or supervision. We couldn't be more pleased with all they did to get us warm again after our furnace failed on a cold weekend in January.

The water heater flush went well, but produced debris that then clogged the faucet. Doing the two together was probably not a good idea.

We had to call them back out to do it again properly and the gentleman that came the second time did it right. They did finish out and they did make it right but we have to miss another day of work waiting on that. We had the same issue a few months later. They're old rusty pipes as well. He was there on time when he finally got there. I'm not using them again. The second gentleman that came out was an "A".

They put a camera down both main drain access points and identified a belly caused during the new home construction process. They have cleaned our drain to help buy more time, recorded our issue and provided all the support we could have asked for throughout our ordeal. The full repair has not been completed yet. That will require trenching and a plumbing reroute.

Service men arrived on time and went right to work. Did an excellent job. They cleaned up after themselves and did not make any messes.

Excellent service. The technician was polite, prompt and completed the repairs in a timely manner. I will use them everytime I need any one of their services. The price was fair for the work. If you need plumbing repairs they are the ones to call.

The individual performing the service was prompt---arrived a few minutes before the agreed upon time. He put footies on upon entering the house. He tried to sell me on a "Club Membership" for $126.00 that would have saved me $53.00 on the service call. The company uses a flat-rate table for a majority of their repairs. The pricing is quite high and I will not use this company ever again. Next time I'll look for local companies and check out the BBB to ensure that there's no outstanding issues. I paid thru the nose this time----but I will never use Abacus Plumbing again! The individual was professional but did point out to me on several occasions that it would be cheaper to purchase the club membership ---- I had already made up my mind but I'm sure he's incented to sell the membership knowing that my plumbing needs will probably be pretty limited in the future.

The service went very well. We contacted Abacus in the morning using there online service appointment scheduler. We promptly received a call confirming work needed to be done and were told the technician would arrive between 3 and 6 pm. in the afternoon, but that it could be earlier if a service tech were in our area. indeed, the technician arrived within 30 minutes and promptly fixed our problem. The technician effectively communicated the reason for the problem and the resolution. He let us know the cost and also things we could do to mitigate the problem in the future.

Went well as always. Had to have them come out late due to a gas line rupture outside our fence due to Comcast workers. Abacus managed to get me in the same day so we could have hot water.

They insisted on only using manufacturer's parts -- only new parts and only installed properly -- others that quoted were only about $100 less than Abacus but, refused to rehouse my circuit board the way it was supposed to be done. Also Abacus provides free financing with 18 months no interest. Overall, a very positive experience. Included in the cost was a free spring inspection and an annual service contract with a 15% discount on all future work so, while the cost was a little higher than competitors, the value was MUCH higher.

The service was timely and professional. We were given several pricing options.

I have a service contract with Abacus for my A/C and heating. Over the last 3 years I have used their HVA/C and plumbing departments and they are always prompt, courteous, and do and excellent job. When they arrive the representative always introduces themselves, shows identification, and gives me their card, then asks me what I need to have done. Before they start the service they explain what they are going to do and ask if I have any questions. They cover their shoes to protect my floors and do an excellent job of cleaning up their work area prior to leaving. When the work is finished they review with me what was done and if there are any issues I need to know. They always provide a quote prior to doing any work and their pricing has always been competitive or more. I would recommend Abacus Plumbing and Air Conditioning without reservation, they are great.

Showed up on time, very knowledgeable, answered all questions I had, found the issue, fixed the issue, did not waste any time.

Our service technician, Josh, was right on time. He was careful to protect our floors and went to work right away to diagnose the problem. Then he showed me the situation using a camera that he inserted in the drain. He provided some helpful information on drain maintenance, completed the work and cleaned up very well. He was polite and professional. It's clear that the people at Abacus understand the customer experience and work to delight their customers. We have used them for our A/C work as well and we have been very pleased.

The technician (Mr. G. Rose) came on time (or earlier) as promised. He went through the diagnostics in order to locate where the water leak was coming from as there was no evidence of leak coming down through the ceiling.The leak was coming from the attic & the water was trickling down behind the wall. He gave us a reasonable quote for the repair. He fixed it & did an excellent job. He left the area clean.

Kenny did a great job. Very thorough, and still got the job done without wasting any time. Kept us in the loop as to what he was doing and how it all worked out. He was very personable, willing to answer any questions we had. Lowered our stress level considerably.
