They were good. I didn't use them for replacing the pipe because they were so high.

Tim inspected the sink and did a complete inspection of the sink drain, dishwasher and sewer drain. The sink was running fine when he was here but instead of just leaving and saying OK no problem he completely inspected everything. Great job, Tim. I will use Abacus every time I have a plumbing problem and will recommend them to all my friends and family.

Tim was a great technician. He clearly explained what needed to be fixed and then provided an accurate estimate. The problem was tougher than initially expected but he worked and got it fixed that day. Would definitely use again.

Technician was dressed nicely and was very courteous. Reviewed what had to be done and gave a cost estimate. Work was done in minimum time at we thought correctly. A tech had to be called back later that evening and corrected the leak. I would recommend the techs Thomas Monroe and Steve Phaley to anyone. The Staff at Abacus Plumbers are all professionals.

Professional, citrus, transparent with services and cost

This was our first experience with Abacus, and it was a great one. Office staff/ dispatchers listened well and got someone out expediently. When a follow up was needed, the office called us to let us know they were on it. At the time of the estimate, they accessed the situation including the low freon in the a/c and were ready to make the repair right then which we appreciated. Other companies try to find other problems in your home, but they did not. When one concern came up, David S. handled it expediently and sent out a team to handle it at our convenience and to our satisfaction. I grew up around builders in my family, so I am well versed in things being done correctly. They did an excellent job, and is someone I'd return to for future jobs. One tip is to get their membership. This saved us over $500. already more than paying for itself.

Abacus is awesome! My a/c went out on a Saturday evening. I called that night and Abacus was out to my house on Sunday morning. My service technician was very knowledgeable and professional. He explained all of my options to me regarding repair options and replacement options and answered all of my questions. I decided to have my entire system replaced. On the day of the install, the crew arrived on time. They were very professional and completed the job without damaging any of my wood floors or walls. My technician walked me through the features of my new system and wi-fi enabled (smart) thermostat. i am very happy with my purchase and extremely satisfied with the level of customer service that Abacus provided. I will definitely use them again and would recommend them to all of my friends and neighbors.

The technician (Lindell Francis) was very professional and knowledgeable in his area of expertise. He and his associate (Don) arrived on time and completed the detailed work in a very timely manner. They were thorough and cleaned all areas where they had worked. Lindell thoroughly reviewed all the work with me as well as the final invoice before he requested my signature. They guarantee their work and stand behind this guarantee. I have used Abacus multiple times for various home repairs (electrical, plumbing, heating and AC) and highly recommend them for your home repair needs.

this was an emergency call out. I had no idea who to call and have seen their trucks in my area and remembered the name so I took a chance. I am so glad that I did! The dispatcher was very helpful and nice, even though it was after normal business hours, which was what I needed since I was somewhat upset about the fact that my water heater was spraying water all over my attic. The technician arrived promptly in the window that the dispatcher gave me. I have 3 dogs, who were barking their heads off, but it didn't phase the technician. He was very friendly, explained to me what needed to be done, and didn't try to make it out to be worse than it was. He was efficient and had the work completed properly and quickly. It was a very pleasant experience and I will definitely call them again for plumbing and other needs as they arise.

I made the appointment and my wife, who is Chinese, was there for the appointment. The plumber told my wife the bill was going to be $179.00....... $49.00 service call charge and $130.00 for the repair. (I was told by the scheduler that the service call would include very minor repairs as part of the $49.00 charge.) I told my wife that it was going to be a minor repair and that it would cost $49.00. My wife and the plumber got into a heated argument about the bill. According to her he said that the $49.00 was just to show up and that the $130.00 was the cost for the repair.... apparently they argued for a while.. She said she was very upset and the plumber took 20 minutes to prepare the invoice sitting on our steps inside the house. She was nervous for her safety and didn't understand why he was taking so long. He finally came to get the check and then did not leave a receipt of any kind. He then proceeded to sit in his car in the driveway for another 45 minutes which was very disturbing to my wife. She was alone and didn't understand why he was just sitting in our driveway (which prevented her from leaving the house) I called late that afternoon to complain and speak to a supervisor and was told they were all busy and they would call me back. I called again the next day and asked for a supervisor and they took a message and said they would call me back. I have not had a call back in 10 days and at this point do not expect one. They have the money, why would they bother to call an unsatisfied customer. Live and learn and do not use Abacus Plumbing. they are big and do lots of promotion, but the culture of the company is not one of quality or customer service. P.S. This caused me to remember a previous experience 2 years prior when we set an appointment with Abacus and waited for 4 hours at the house from 1pm to 5 pm. They called after 5pm and said they would still be coming but would be running late, and then we never heard from them the following day, or ever again to reschedule. They never ever called back. I guess all the AD's and promotion they do caused me to forget.......

It went very well. The technician was very professional and thorough. He caught issues that were overlooked by the original installer of our HVAC system. I highly recommend Abacus. It was an excellent customer service experience.

When I called first person I spoke with was Melissa, very caring and stated "I will get our dispatch to call you back". My husband is a cancer patient and we are both senior citizens. Talked with your dispatcher, so sorry forgot her name. She was great. Stated our technician/repairman will be at our residence in 45 minutes. Yes, right on time...Met Sebastian, he was so professional, caring and being an expert, he completed our leak, he suggested to replace the other line, which made sense. So I agreed. His kindness and professionalism was so wonderful....I am a retired police officer and I promise to tell every one about your great service and your pricing is fair for not only senior citizens but every one in general. Plus your commercial is first rate. Thanks again.

The technician was very courteous and informative about our HVAC system, which was very helpful since it was installed by previous homeowner. We were very pleased with the service call and will definitely use Abacus again.

They replaced a burned out outlet in the master bedroom, and installed a new breaker box. The technician informed me of all the things that would need to be replaced before the work began, and I was given a written estimate. The technician arrived on time the day the work was to be performed, and he was very courteous. The work took about 4 hours to completed, and once completed the areas were the work was performed was cleaned up by the technician. He made sure that the other outlets worked properly as well. If I need any work done in the future I will use "Abacus" again.

The plumber was on time, very professional and competent. He performed a great job. Hard to say much regarding plumbing work. He was good about letting me know what everything would cost so I wasn't surprised by the final bill. I was happy with the work.

Called for service and explained I would like kitchen drain snaked out. The cleanout is right under the sink and needs to go about 25 feet. Arrived 1 hr and 30 past scheduled time, however they did call and say they were running late and would call 30 mins prior to showing up. Just showed up around 4:30 for a 3pm schedule appointment. Was told on the phone the cost is $123.00 When he arrived he stated the 123.00 dollar charge is if the drain is on the outside of the house. Upon further inquiry he said he would have to bring his machine in to the kitchen and he would have to protect the tile floor. Thats why its more money. I was quoted a price on the phone that wasn't anything close to the BS line he feed me upon arrival. Probably rating them a "D" was too high. David

So in the middle of a home renovation (replacing and repainting some siding on our house), both our A/C units (upstairs and downstairs) stopped making cold air. It was late in the day by the time we'd noticed, so we looked for a 24 hour company, and Abacus came up in our search. We called, scheduled an after-hours appointment (at a premium price of $150), and waited. Several hours later the dispatcher let us know that technician Darrell would arrive by 9pm. It was very late, but the dispatcher had been clear with us about the ETA and the cost of the service. Darrell arrived on time and set about diagnosing the A/C units. He confirmed that the fan motors on both units were working, and the compressor on one was working; the other was not. The cause of the compressor not working was traced to a blown capacitor. He also determined that our systems had no freon in them. So far, so good. In the process of checking the outside units, one of the cut-off breakers broke. It's an old box, and I don't blame him for that. He did wire the box to by-pass this switch so he could continue to check out the unit. He inspected the boxes in the attic as well, and used shoe covers when walking around our home. I asked him about what the repairs might involve, and he told us that he would give us some options. Finally he was able to give us our options, which he laid out as follows: replacing both the interior and exterior coil sets on both units for around $8,000; replacing both complete systems for around $10,000; or replacing both complete systems and both furnaces (which had nothing to do with the original problem at all) for around $13,000 or so. The sales pitch then began in earnest. Darrell told us that our 10 year old system was basically worn out and shot, that parts would keep going bad, and it wasn't worth trying to repair. He asked us if we had dogs (he knew we did, because he'd seen them when he came to the door). He then mentioned that he'd seen a "hole" on one of the units where it looked like the dogs had torn it up; he speculated that they'd been urinating on the units, causing the coils to deterioriate. I double-checked for myself, and found the "hole" to be the same as I'd know had been there for year: some plastic abraded away and a bit of a ding to the aluminum radiating fins cause by our lawn guy hitting it with the weed-whacker YEARS ago. We told Darrell that we weren't interested in replacing the systems but in repairing them and asked if he could trace any leaks and repair them (such as by brazing/welding the lines) and refilling the freon. He told us that "nobody does that." We told him that we'd just pay the service fee for the visit. We paid, he left, and still had no A/C. The next day I got a follow-up sales call from Abacus. I told the caller that we weren't interested in replacing our units, that we had wanted a repair. The caller asked if Darrell hadn't offered to fix a blown capacitor and cut-off switch. I told the caller that I had wanted the system repaired and described the three "options" that Darrell had presented me. He then had the nerve to ask, "Well, didn't he tell you that you had a leak in your evaporator coil?" After involuntarily laughing out loud, I declined to discuss the issue further and hung up with the caller. In the end, I ended up going with a guy I had previously used at Ashford Air (and whom I should have gone straight to in the first place). He suspected that some damage may have been done when our siding was being installed. Removing the siding revealed that yes, in fact, our contractor had accidentally put a nail through the lineset that runs inside the wall. He quickly repaired both lines and installed two dryer filters. After pressure-testing the system overnight to confirm there were no other leaks, he recharged the freon and the system cranked right up, blowing cold as always. It's unfortunate, but it seems that Abacus (and some other large companies) want their techs to be salesmen first and techs second. Not only did they waste our time, but also essentially charged us $150 for a sales call. It is reprehensible for a company to prey upon consumers at their most vulnerable in order to exploit them into a high-dollar purchase. I will never call on this company again.

The guys were super professional. Had a glitch in the system that prevented the service tech arriving during the scheduled window, but that was corrected and from the minute they arrived, they were extremely thorough and professional. I was impressed, to say the least. I would recommend them, no doubt. Yes, maybe the cost may be a bit $$, but proper maintenance of your plumbing system is better to avoid more costly fixes down the line.
