Abacus Plumbing, Air Conditioning and Electrical

Technician called 30 minutes out and arrived on time, he had all the tools needed in his bag. We went to the a/c unit and he replaced the electrical contactor because the compressor wasn't coming on. He then checked the Freon, no joy. The fan was running, calling for cool air, compressor was running but no Freon. This type of unit can not be fixed once you develop a Freon leak in the control head.

The Abacus technician examined the toilets, repaired one that was leaking and recommended replacement of an old low boy toilet which would have been very costly to repair. He took the time to show me photos of available toilets and recommended I look at them to determine the desired style and height. When I had selected a toilet, he agreed to return this weekend to install it. Abacus always provides excellent service.

Master technician and repair techs were skilled, efficient, and professional. Received lifetime warranty and copper wiring. They also did a few other minor repairs to existing equipment at no charge. Just wanted it to be safe and done right. Answered my questions and provided great customer service. I highly recommend this company to others and would use them again.

Abacus was recommended to us by my niece and a family friend. This was our first time trying their services. From the initial call, Martha was very professional and took all my info down and scheduled my appointment to have one of their plumbers come out the next day to fix a broken valve that was leaking gas and a dripping shower head. She also advised me of their membership plan that included a yearly inspection of all plumbing in the house and draining the water heater which is something I had been wanting to do for a while. So, I purchased their yearly membership which also includes discount on service and parts and priority scheduling. Steve, the plumber, they sent was prompt and on time and was very pleasant and professional. He accomplished the repairs quickly and efficiently. We were so pleased with his service that we asked Abacus to assign him as our plumber for future repairs. As soon as the job was done and Steve left, I received a call from Abacus to see if we were satisfied with the work and service and if we had any comments. So, all in all from beginning to end it was a very good first experience. Would recommend Abacus highly.

they said work was way to hard to reach so they charged way too much money. we called the manager and he never returned our call.

I called and made an appointment. I needed to wait a day for an available appointment. On my scheduled day Abacus called to let me know they were running late. The technician did arrive at the new time. He was very polite and explained the situation thoroughly. He offered two options to solve our issue. I was not pressured to go with the more expensive option. He did the work quickly and cleanly. He also offered advice to help prevent this from happening again in the future. I will use ABACUS in the future.

It went extremely well. I returned home at 10pm from a business trip to find a hot house! I called Abacus knowing that they were one of the only companies with on-call techs around the clock. Devon came over and went the extra mile to get my AC unit repaired so that I and my furkids could sleep in a cool house. He was polite, knowledgeable, and knew his stuff. I even bought the plan for biannual AC checks. Can't say enough good things about the overall experience.

Extremely well done. In particular, the technician made us aware of a potential problem with the control module on our water heater. He replaced the unit at no cost since the water heater is still under warranty. The technician could have been silent on the matter and we would be faced with a problem down the road at our cost as well as damage to our property. This preventive action speaks volumes of the high quality of care and ethics of Abacus and its staff.

The plumber was very professional and friendly. Arrived a little late but at 6:00 pm there is a lot of traffic in Houston. It was no problem for us. Fixed our problem and charged us appropriately. We have been using Abacus for awhile now and have never had a bad experience. The greatest for us was when we came home from vacation and discovered water in our laundry room only to find the hot water heater was leaking. We called them immediately and they came out that same day and got everything replaced. They have replaced a faucet for the ice maker, installed the new hot water heater, replaced a toilet, fixed another toilet, repaired an outside leak, and yesterday repaired our garbage disposal for a minimal fee. They have even called us when an earlier opening came up. My daughter had just recently moved into a brand new house and her bathtub was backing up. She called me and I told her about Abacus. She called them and they went out to her. They told her that the backup was a builder problem and she should not have to pay for it. They also did not charge her for the call. That is honesty and great service. The builder did fix her problem at no charge. I have read some really bad reviews but I can honestly tell you we have never had an issue with them in anyway. We are members of their club and have received some good discounts. We will continue to use them in the future as we have always been treated well.

Abacus' service desk said "There is an open & a technician can come out by 3pm." By 2:30PM the dispatcher called & let me know the technician couldn't make it by 3pm due to traffic. He offered to waver $50 service call and thanks me for being patience. The technician (Isaac Middleton) listened to my description of the problem then asked to hear the noise & the location of the AC. Within minutes he identified the problems. "The main drain line coming off the unit in the attic was a downhill line. It had no vents in it to let the air out of the line. It took two vents to stop the popping in the bathroom." Within 30min the problem solved :-) ! I wished I had made the call to Abacus sooner. I am one happy customer of Abacus Plumbing Air Conditioning & Electrical.

It went very well. The abacus technican knew his stuff and replaced all the drain pipes unter the sick. He found that the orginial Y junction has been installed upside down when the house was built 50 years ago.. He did an exceptional job on getting all the drain pipes working in good order. We are sure glad we called Abacus about our problem.

It went very well. The men doing the job were very consciences about doing the job correctly and with a little mess as possible. They cleaned the work areas. They did a exceptionally good job. Theeyh knew what had to be done and went right ahead to do the work.

We had the best plumbing inspection to date. Andres did a very thorough job, noticing a problem with venting to the roof which will be corrected this week by Abacus. He was very polite, and answered all of our questions. We also had him install a Flow-Tech Water system which he did before he left. We were very satisfied.

Technician called at 8AM to inform me he would arrive within 30 minutes and he arrived exactly at 8:30AM. He assessed what needed to be done, outlined the details involved, and quoted me a price before beginning repairs and installation. He rebuilt both Price Pfister handles and shower valves with new seats, stems, and trim. He then installed the new shower head and extension arm (at no charge) and then checked for leaks. He called me in to inspect his work and I confirmed there were no leaks. He documented a 2 year warranty for the work done. Everything went smoothly and job completed within 90 minutes. New shower head works great and it stops dripping in less than a minute after turning the water off (vs about 10 minutes with the old shower head and faucets). I'm a BAM member, so I got a 15% discount off the work done, and I had a card for a further $63.00 off the total price of the jobs done.

The technician was on time and very knowledgeable about Air Conditioning systems. He was willing to talk me through any questions I had. However, I asked for an itemized quotation for time and material to preventative repair my system. He mentioned that was something he would need to discuss with his manager. After speaking to his manager he said that it was against company policy to provide an itemized quotation. This seems shady to me. I contacted headquarters office to request an itemized quotation, but never received an email or call back.

What a joy to receive more than you expect! I thought we were just having our water heaters drained, and we received a complete plumbing inspection along with the work on the water heaters. It is nice that Abacus is looking to find a problem while it is still small before it turns into a large (and costly) repair. Our technician, Levi, was professional and pleasant to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend Abacus to my friends.

I was told I would receive a call approximately 45 minutes before the tech would arrive and I did. Chris wore booties over his shoes the whole time he was in my house. He explained what he would be changing, did the work and then had my inspect it. He was very courteous and professional both in manner and appearance. If I ever need them again, I will ask for Chris Castro by name.

Very poor communication at the office when first scheduled and then had to reschedule. Felt ripped off by paying $50 to get a specific estimate and have them tell me once they got here that it wasn't possible to give a good estimate unless the walls were open. To get our money's worth, decided to ask for rough estimate to replumb our 2000 s.f. home and quote was $12,000! Our neighbor just had theirs done by a reputable company for $5,000. Not sure what it should be but we did tell the Abacus guy that some of the plumbing had been redone already. I'm sorry I only saw the Angies List reviews and didn't look at the Yelp reviews as well.

It was a small job. They were very efficient. It seemed a little pricey.

Compressor had a coil that leaked. With No hassle what so ever they said the would replace the entire compressor at no cost. It was replaced with a larger compressor. I am very pleased with their professionalism and the quality of service!
