They did a great job. They were on time and didn?t even charge me for some of the things they did probably because those jobs were small. I would recommend them without hesitation.

I researched both tank-type and tank-less systems, interviewed 6 plumbing contractors and got 4 quotes on both systems. Abacus, by far, led the pack in their knowledge of both systems (installation and maintenance requirements, benefits, options, pitfalls). They readily provided several options and with a 30% tax credit available I decided on a Noritz tank-less system. The cost of the system less the tax credit was within 10 - 15% of the cost to replace the tanks in kind. The net install cost will be $2,900 after I file taxes next year. Alan, the owner, always took my calls (or called back within an hour), to answer questions I had during the research phase. Bob, my technician, showed up promptly on a Saturday morning to provide a quote on several tank-type and tank-less systems. After making my decision, Bob and Alex showed up two days later at the designated time. Bob and Alex were extremely professional, courteous and competent. It was evident that they cared about the quality of their work. They completed the project in less than 6 hours, walked me through any operational and maintenance info needed and left the house and attic spotless. I highly recommend this service provider.

It was pretty expensive. The quality of the work was pretty good, though.

They fixed a bad job from another company. Their prices never go up and we have been going to them for about two years. They have done a lot of work for us and have been very professional. We would highly recommend them.

I can't say enough positive things about my whole experience with Abacus. The people answering the phone are extremely pleasant, courteous and efficient. Charles was my first contact with the company when I called last year, I told him what heater I was looking for. He called his supplier for a price and called me back within a short period of time, very courteous person! He offered to set up an estimate for the following day but I decided to wait to install the heaters until the weather got cooler. When I then decided to have the work done, after some very questionable quotes and unsettling experiences with 4 other plumbing companies I decided to call back Charles at Abacus. He quickly arranged for an in-house visit and quote. Kenneth was timely for the quote appointment, called me 45 mins before arrival and on the morning of the install (called me 3 times on the 45 min trip to our home in morning rush-hour to update me on the arrival time) . Kenneth and Lois were extremely cautious protecting our flooring (carpet, tile and wooden stairs) and knowing what a nervous wreck I was about this install kept me informed constantly with updates. Due to the fact that both water heaters were extremely blocked by deposits, they were barely draining, which added a few extra hours to the process. Getting the old water heaters down and the new ones up (170 pounds) from the attic through a tight trap door on one side of the house and a ladder on the other side, was no easy task but they accomplished it without any scratches to the heaters or the walls. The installation itself was very professionally done, replacing flex pipe connectors to the gas lines and the water intake and installing 2 new drain pans. The city inspector a few days later was very pleased with the work done. I would not hesitate recommending this company to anyone and was so pleased that I signed up for their Diamond Club Membership $126/year (part of the $2300) which includes a yearly thorough plumbing inspection (including the water heater servicing, drain, flush, test) , a 15% discount on any services rendered and priority customer service.

The first instance was an emergency. While they are expensive they are available at odd times. The work was done efficiently and professionally.

My bathtub drain was not emptying, so I contacted Abacus. They sent someone out that afternoon who was very courteous, clean and got right to work.

I called Abacus on Dec. 26 after my disposal & dishwasher clogged on Christmas Day. They came out that afternoon, cleaned my clogged drain efficiently & professionally. I was very pleased with their service, not to mention relieved after surviving a family Christmas Dinner with an unusable disposal!

I called Abacus this morning after my sister used the upstairs guest bathroom shower and we saw water dripping through the ceiling of the dining room on the main floor. Abacus gave us a time window between 2-5pm and said they would call 30 mins before arriving. Mike called 30 mins before arriving at around 2:30pm. He wore booties over his shoes to keep my house clean and then went right to work diagnosing the problem. About a week ago I had replaced the downspout in the upstairs tub because it wasn't letting the shower head have enough pressure. I did this myself and caulked all the way around the new spout. Oops! Mike said I should have used Teflon tape on the treads coming out of the wall AND that you Should Not caulk all the way under the spout. Once he peeled the caulk off the bottom part, water came flowing out of the wall! I had sealed it so well that the water that should have been able to leak back into the tub was leaking into the wall and down to the ceiling below. Mike taped and then re-attached the spout and caulked it. He said the shower would be ready to use this evening and that the wet ceiling should dry out and be replaceable in a week or two. Since I had just made the "repair" myself recently and the bathroom is barely used he said there wasn't any permanent damage likely. He only charged us the flat service call fee and was here about 20-30 mins.

Very well. They checked everything they could possibly check, including draining our two forty gallon water heaters and unclogging a drain.

When cutting the grass, we discovered that our water inlet pipe had a slow leak (and probably had the leak for a few days). It was already 7:00 p.m. on a Friday night, but I picked Abacus to call based on the reports in Angie's List. The plumber arrived at the house at roughly 7:45 p.m., set up a spot light in the yard, and went to work. He repaired the problem without any issues.

I have used Abacus Plumbing several times at one of my rental properties and at my home. They are pretty consistent about being punctual and professional. I did have one problem this time when after 4 hours after the proposed time they were supposed to be there they finally showed up to a tenants apartment. When I called the manager the next day and discussed the issue with him he was apologetic and arranged for a partial refund to my account for use with future service with them. While that isn't as nice as a cash refund I did feel as though it was appropriately handled and I will use them again for future plumbing services.

This old house has so many problems that it needs a shrink. Abacus solved them all - sometimes doing the impossible, without breaking a sweat. Their employees are exceptional. Professional, friendly problem solvers all. I almost hate to let the rest of you in on the best plumbing company in Houston - trust me, we've used 'em all.

They did an excellent job, they're just very pricey. I didn't comparison shop before I got this work done. Next time, I'll go with another company that has a lower price. However, they do very good work. The toilet cost $574 of the approximate cost listed.

This repair was accomplished quickly and well. It is a faucet we no longer use so he was able to simply plug the pipe until we decide what to do with it. I recommend him for promptness and reliability.

I thought they did great work, but they were too high in pricing. They were able to meet my schedule requirements, so I was happy with that. I would use them again but for I would for sure be calling around for different pricing first.

They came to the house to give the estimate on pulling the heater because of a small gas leak. They appeared to be neat and kept saying they were professionals. They then proceeded to tell me I needed to have all my gas lines capped and the meter removed as long as they were there. I later found out this was all a huge pack of lies, all that needed to be done was have the old heater pulled, that line shut off and the problem would have been done with. I was definitely taken by these smooth talking contractors.

They do great work but they are too expensive.

This was an ''urgent'' Saturday call. The company was able to provide service quickly. The technician was very professional, communicated well, and performed the necessary repair. The job took one hour to complete. I was very pleased with the service but thought the price was ridiculously high. I have had similar plumbing repairs by other companies that did not come close to this fee.

Excellent work, friendly serviceman (as always), on time but ridiculously high price to install one kitchen faucet. This price was WITH their Diamond Member Plan that I bought last year and pay for each month. Will shop prices before I call them again.

They were very professional and on time. The technician was very friendly. I felt like it was way too expensive. There wasn't anything he could about it. It was not a good experience.

Absolutely great work. Kept me informed (I was at work), and when project turned out to be much more involved than originally planned, called in two additional helpers and worked for 5 hours straight to fix the problem. Even after all of that, the price charged was the estimate given at the beginning of the work. I can't recommend these people too highly.

They showed up as scheduled and performed the work to our satisfaction. The took the time to explain the problem and was pleased with their work.

All three tasks completed in less than 2 hours. Very little supplies used. But I ended up spending over $250 per hour labor.
