Efficient Air and Heat

.I am reluctant to use them again. It seems a waste of $260.00 They came back 1 week later and replaced the unit for $4710, without a credit for the the checkup.

John was very friendly and professional. He showed up that day. The part that he needed had to come from Dallas and although it didn't get there until close to 5pm he came out that evening to finish the job. He did a great job and I'm very pleased.

My mother's air conditioner went out 7/28/15 after regular business hours. I started calling a/c repair companies who answered ""yes regarding 24 hour service. I got two voicemails when I called Efficient Air. I told my mother I would keep calling different companies and the first one to call back would be the winner. When I called Efficient Air an actual person, John Mathis, answered the call. I thought I would faint. Mr. Mathis said he could get someone out about 2 or 3 am on 7/29/15. It was about 10 pm when I called, so we prepared to swelter until 2 or 3. A little later, Mr. Mathis called and said he could have someone here about midnight. My mother is on a fixed income and was sweating bullets, not just from the heat, but because she was afraid she would have to get a whole new unit. When Mr. Mathis arrived he quickly advised us it was the capacitor and he could replace it for $146.00. It was such a relief. He replaced it in no time and got the a/c working again. Mr. Mathis is a great guy, very professional and obviously fair and reasonable. I would recommend him to anyone. He also likes dogs, which is a plus!

He was by far probably the best one that came out to the house. I had to have 3 bids. My insurance company made me provide them with 3 bids because they thought they were all high. He was only the gentleman that called me back because we were without an air conditioning for 3 weeks. In the meantime, we were trying to get the insurance to pay for all of these. They kept saying we have to get another bid because they were too high and he is the only one that called me back and checked on me and he said he can fix the air conditioning unit. He said he can try to bypass so we can have air for a day or so but he don’t think it’s going to last and it didn’t. It lasted like 2 days but he at least tried. The others didn’t even try and he is the only one that kind of called me back like 3 different times to check on us to see if we were okay or if we have gotten anywhere with the insurance company. I have no complaints about John. He was great. I have already referred him to several of my family members.

John Mathis of Efficient Air and Heat came out today and I just want to take the time to commend him for his professionalism and quality of work. We have had 4 different A/C companies and their tech's come and go and never pay attention to our concerns regarding the lack of air to our master bedroom. John immediately found the problem and resolved the issue. This just showed me the lack of attention to detail all the others possessed. John took the extra step of investigation and found what should have been obvious to all the others, albeit not all that easy to access. Thanks so much for sending him to our home. He is one of the good ones. We now have "our guy" in the HVAC business.

John Mathis is the individual that came to my home, and I adored him. He was honest, knowledgeable, patient, and efficient! On 5/21 my AC was acting up, it was running but not cold air just room temperature air our internal temperature in the house had gotten up to around 81. I thought my Nest Thermostat was having an issue so I called for their support, but when my husband and I heard water sounds coming from the Air Handler we knew there was a problem. It was already late in the evening and we looked on Angie's List and found Efficient Air and Heat, with all the great reviews he was the first and only call I made. John came out shortly after my call, we were very lucky he was actually already in the area. Unfortunately my AC unit had actual ice covering the coils so nothing could be done that night, it needed to fully defrost before it could be further investigated. He was schedule to come back out the next day to look at the unit again, but weather didn't permit it. He was honest and told us that he could do his tests in the cool (mid to high 60s) but it could possibly damage my unit if there was too much refrigerant added to it. We decided to wait it out. John wasn't scheduled to come back to my home until 5/27, but luckily for us he was ahead of schedule and came out on 5/26. He added 5 lbs of freon, and diagnosed what further repairs need to be made. (Note: The price of service was for freon, we have not had any additional services completed or agreed upon at the time I write this review.)

We've used John for years and luckily found him on Angie's list. Appointments have always been on time and he's been more than courteous and professional while working with us. I've recommended him to all our family and friends and will continue to do so. He's more than honest and hate to say it, but that's a rarity now-a-days when dealing with people. If you're looking for someone to service your AC, look no further as John is THE MAN when it comes to it!!!

The update on this is there was some sort of email glitch that resulted in a missed communication. John called me after the last review. He was very polite and professional, the same way he was while at my house. The only reason I would not give him another chance is I already found another company that did the work that I am very pleased with.

I've used efficient air and heat for many years now and dont always write a review. They've done everything from replace the inside and outside units, duct work, and general maintenance. John has always been great. He's very informative and professional and their prices have always been reasonable. I definitely recommend using efficient for any a/c or heating work.

Everything went smoothly. Weather hasn't been great so I was a bit concerned about what he could do with the Air Conditioner. We are moving and needed this done as part of our Contract. John came out, nice guy, and was able to run everything as needed. Checked everything out, made sure no repairs were needed anywhere. He explained he could run the Air to a certain point, that would tell him enough as to Service it. Everything went fine and there were no additional charges.

John not only analyzed the problem, but fixed it, and then explained everything as he was doing it. The service was outstanding. I will definitely use him again. He also showed me what I could do with my thermostat to make it fit better. I was very impressed and he came on short notice.

Called John on a Saturday afternoon, he responded quickly, listened to the symptoms and told me he would be at my home as soon as he finished the job he was on. He did so. He was very professional and answered my questions. I was not charged extra fees for week end or after hours nor a diagnostics fee. He gave me the Angie Discount without any problem. I highly recommend Efficient Air and Heat and will continue to use them if needed.

The provider came out to inspect my system, found that many things were hooked up wrong, he is now working on fixing everything that was wrong and is doing a great job.

I'm very impressed with Efficient Air and Heat! I purchased this product back in August/September for the upcoming winter season. At the time I purchased it, there was a deadline to use it and I don't remember exact date but it was maybe October? When I called to set up the appointment, the receptionist was very friendly and professional. She said they don't do inspections for the specific seasons until the weather changes, meaning it would do no good to inspect the heater then, would have to wait until I was actually having to use it. (I'm a new home owner, didn't realize this). She told me not to worry about the expiration date, that they would honor the discount and she would call me when it was time to come out to inspect it. Sure enough as soon as the weather was forcasted to be cold, she called me to set up the appt. The technician came out and was here for a couple of hours, inspected the systems in the attic, and outside, tightened the wires on my thermostats, and cleaned out , rinsed off the outside HVACS. He also gave me a much better explanation of how the heat pump works (the installer was Arthur Hagar and they left me very confused). He was extremely professional and I felt I definitely got my money's worth. He did not try to sell me anything. I had already purchased new filters and he was happy to change them out for me. I will definitely be using them again and highly recommend!

My elderly mother woke up to a cold house during the recent cold snap we had in the metroplex. She called me while I was at work so I called Efficient and spoke to a very nice lady. I told her the situation and they were able to pencil my mom in. He came late in the afternoon as scheduled, diagnosed the problem, and worked to find the part needed. He worked late into the evening to make sure she was toasty while the cold weather lingered. While I would not have left my mom in a cold house all night, I appreciate the effort (and the fair price) this company put in to make sure she didn't get displaced for any length of time.

John was on time, courteous and went straight to work. He found an electrical problem that could lead to sparking and a fire. Being we are seniors, I thanked him for that and immediate called an electrician to come and rectify the problem. Will definitely utilize his services in the future.

Yes, he inspected to gas furnace and found it to be cracked. He then looked at the square hole in the master bedroom and I explained to him about the duct work and needing it repaired. He suggested an All-in-One Unit placed outside to raise the safety factor since it is involving propane gas. His website also offers a discount, 15% of all repairs and 10% for all replacements. I figure this is why he has not given me the cost. He said he would have the cost for me by Monday, September 29, 2014. I was have two cost analysis, one for unit and duct work and one for just to repair the duct work. Well, I am still waiting. I have called three times to no avail of explanation why I have not received a cost analysis. Winter time is approaching. I need to have this repaired as soon as possible. As I explained to him, I may need not be able to repair the duct work and replace the units depending on the cost. I may repair the duct work this year and replace the unit next year due to the income factor as I am retired and on a fixed income. I am upset because if he didn't want to do the job, I would have appreciated it him telling me he didn't want to do the job. A week and a half and three phone calls is not getting it done.

I was desperate, having returned home from a vacation to find my AC not working and the house temperature at 90. This company, though offering emergency service, had all their technicians booked for the evening. The lady offered a spot for the following day and I told her I was going to make a few more calls and attempt to get it worked on that night and that I would call her back if I was successful so that she could offer my spot to someone else. I did find a company who could send someone and when I called back to let the woman know, she was so professional. She thanked me for the call and said although they were not able to help me this time, that they would be pleased to assist me if I ever need them in the future. Just a class act that I believe probably reflects how this business is run.

They were awesome! John came out and helped me. He didn't have the parts to fix my unit right on the spot and he actually let me use 2 window units until he could get the part in since it was summer. I was very impressed with him. I've never seen anyone allow a customer to use window units while we're waiting on parts to come in. That blew me away. He's my Number One call.

It was good. He was a very nice guy, seems very knowledgeable and he was on time.

The response time was good. Service was good. There was a problem getting the correct part from the distributor to do the repair because of the weather closing their business, but the repairman went out of his way to get the part as soon as possible.
