Description of Work: Had a microwave oven that quit heating food. They told me they could send out a Tech. on the following Monday (3/18/13) but would call if someone cancelled an appt. They called back later in the day and told me that a tech would be at my house between 9-11 am. He showed up at 9:45... the FIRST thing he said was if the appliance he was over 10 yrs old it would be better to just buy a new one, he said the appliances are only built 'now days' to only last 10 years. WHY couldn't the person that I talked with to make the appt. with the tech. tell me that???..... reason..... they wanted the $86.00 for the service call in which the tech. spent a total of 10 minutes at my house then go on to the net service call..... $86.00 or $430.00 per hour.... He did tell me he could repair the microwave for $350.00 and would give me a 90 day warranty..... a new one with a warranty cost $300.00 Had the person told me that the "life expectancy" for an appliance was 10 yrs when I placed the call to them I would have just bought the new microwave and avoided the $86.00 expence!

Description of Work: The serviceman came on time as promised. My dishwasher would not turn on. Well, I didn't realize there was a "cancel" button, the gentleman pushed "cancel" and it started immediately. However, I asked him if he knew anything about self-cleaning ovens, I have never been able to find a way to start this process. Neither could he - he called SEVERAL GE numbers, finally found a "person" who could help. It turns out - THE OVEN WAS MANUFACTURED WITHOUT THE NECESSARY PANEL!!!!! The GE people were able to identify the problem by phone (with the appliance serviceman). GE serviceman was dispatched on January 21, with the correct panel, installed it for free (of course!), and finally, I can "self clean" the oven. The repairman with Accent Appliance was so VERY helpful. I highly recommend this company. They also gave me a "discount", plus a "senior" discount, making the call very reasonable.

They were very prompt and professional, particularly when they found out the problem was the operator and not the unit. No repair was needed. They did not charge us for this service call.

 + -1 moreTHE SERVICE PEOPLE ARE FRIENDLY, BUT DID NOT KNOW VERY MUCH ABOUT MY FISHER AND PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE. THEY ARE THE AREA REPAIR SERVICE THAT F & P RECOMMENDED. THERE IS NO OTHER IN THE AREA. THE MACHINE WAS FIXED FOR A WHILE AFTER THEY TOOK THE MACHINE INTO THEIR SHOP TO SOMEONE WHO KNEW A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE APPLIANCE. MY MACHINE WAS UNDER SERVICE WARRANTY, SO I ONLY PAID FOR PARTS.
