The salesman, Michael, was nice and responsive, after several talks about the services, price, and product we decided to move forward with this company over several others. The servicemen, led by Joe, showed up on time and were very professional the entire time. They worked quickly and efficiently and addressed all our concerns. They finished a day earlier than planned, which was a pleasant surprise. I would without hesitation use them again and recommend them to others.

The sales contact Michael Potash responded to my request for quote within a day of my first contact. Mike was punctual to all appointment times. Mike was a good listener, very knowledgeable and professional. The Flooring DIrect work team arrived exactly on time as scheduled and were prepared and started immediately to work. The installers worked in a consistent, productive and very professional and courteous manner throughout both work days they were on site. Work was completed in a craftsman like manner which is evidence of this installer team's skills and experience. Both of the work crew were very considerate of our home during the entire project. At the end of day on this project all areas were completely cleaned. Any material and tools were stored in an completely uncluttered manner. The project was completed a day ahead of the estimated time frame which greatly lessened any disruption to our home. This is the first time I have used a company or contractor to do work for which the work crew and their quality and installation craftsmanship met or exceeded my personal expectations. There were absolutely zero negatives with this job and my experience with Carrol Johns Flooring Direct , his office staff and work installers.

When the sales rep came to my home, he was great. We talked about the different flooring options and my needs (we have a pool). He explained to me the pros and cons of everything and worked with my price range. He helped guide me in the right direction in picking things out such as grout color and making major decisions. I had never done this before (it was my first home) and was a little overwhelmed by everything. When the workers came out, they were great. They got some extra people in to help and the floors were laid in one or two days! The floors looked beautiful (we always get compliments on our floor!) and I was impressed with the craftsmanship. There were some minor things that I pointed out that they quickly fixed with no problems. I love my floors and I had a great experience with Carroll Johns. A few months later, we had a new back door put in. This created a gap where our floor ended and our new door began. I called Carroll Johns and they sent someone right out to make it look good again. I think it cost me $150 but it was no big deal and it still looks great. I should have written this review a long time ago so I'm sorry to them for that. All in all, a great experience with Carroll Johns and I would highly recommend them!

The job was done on time and finished ahead of schedule. The workmanship was good. Courtesy and thoroughness were excellent.

Although they showed up at the end of the given time frame on Day 1 (probably picking up materials), they got right to work and were early/on time every other day afterwards. Installers were amazing, cleaning up after themselves each day, and doing meticulous work. There was an issue where I had to get another service provider in, but they worked everything around that. Fair pricing. I LOVE MY FLOORS, and would absolutely recommend Flooring Direct!

Installation crew arrived on time and worked all day until the job was completed except for one piece of transition molding. The leader of the two-man crew returned the following morning and completed the job within 45 minutes. The crew was friendly, hardworking and professional. They did a beautiful job of cutting and matching pieces to fit in some difficult areas. We are very pleased with the finished project.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. In spite of the positive reviews I had a horrible experience. Where do I start. The sales person disappeared after he got the job and my first check and never did bother calling me back to see how things went. This also includes the lady in charge of the install who only called me back to insure my final check was in the mail and never once asked how it went or if I was happy. This is amazing considering all work is done by SUB CONTRACTORS. I guess they don't care how the subs perform. I will begin with my tile work - although the guys were really friendly, they do ZERO PREP work before laying the tile in a brick pattern, which meant ZERO CONSISTENCY with any of the seams and distances. I have since had the floor inspected by a relative of mine who is a general contractor, and he said time should have been spent planning and drawing out the pattern of the tile to insure consistent seams and distances. None of this was done. They just slapped the tile down. Also, they ran out of tile - I am not certain who made this error, but it meant them having to come back on Saturday to finish (due to weather issues the following day). Let's move on to the carpet, and let me say, the lady who was in charge of the install schedule and talking to me did not bother to tell me she had scheduled the carpet installers for the third day of my project. She clearly told me it was a two day job. I did not find this out until I inquired of the tile guys as to the schedule for the carpeting and ended up calling the office. She acted like I was putting her out while she called around trying to get someone out the next day to correct her error in communicating with me. I asked her when she was planning to tell me the installers for the carpet were not scheduled until day three - no response - I guess this was supposed to be common knowledge. The carpet folks did arrive day two. While they were carrying in the pad I noticed it was a pink color not a dark blue color, and it looked really cheap. I asked the installers what kind of pad it was, and they told me it was six pound pad. I told them I had not ordered that pad, and I was told it was supposed to be at least eight pounds. They said they were surprised they had been given that pad any way, as typically the six is not put in residential jobs. When speaking to the install manager he admitted he made a mistake. He said the installers would go ahead and lay the wrong stuff and the carpet, and they would return at some point to rip it all out and change it out. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I insisted they come and do it right with the right pad the first time. He relented, and he ended up having to deliver it himself due to being short staffed. I AM WONDERING HOW I WOULD HAVE FOUND OUT THE PAD WAS THE CHEAPER STUFF HAD I NOT BEEN PAYING ATTENTION AND ASKING QUESTIONS? This seems very shady to me. I guess they were hoping I would not find out or that I would agree to have the cheap stuff put down and then not want to hassle with them coming back. I am sure when the manager or owner sees this note he will act all concerned and ask why I did not call him to discuss. I want them to know this is your responsibility to insure customer satisfaction not mine. I am appalled by the lack of contact or anyone asking me how things went after my checks were cut. Also, I may not have figured out how poorly the planning was done by the tile folks had my expert not told me how it was supposed to be done. BUYER BE WARE OF THIS COMPANY. HAVE A GENERAL CONTRACTOR SUPERVISE ANY WORK YOU PLAN TO HAVE DONE BY THEM. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY ARE DOING, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS CARPET. Also, I find it funny they present customers with Angie's List forms and want you to fill them out - perhaps the positive comments come from those on the spot, and problems are not discovered until after the ratings are sent in. Not sure, but I would not hire these folks again! I knew the owner would respond. I did return his call, and HE HAS NOT CALLED ME BACK IN SPITE OF THE FACT THAT HIS VOICE MAIL SAID TO CALL HIM ANY TIME TO DISCUSS. I believe because he knows the tile fix would be costly. I asked that someone other than the installation manager review the tile work. Also, THEY ARE THE ONES WHO TOLD ME THEY WERE LAYING THE TILE IN A BRICK PATTERN. NOW THEY CLAIM THAT WAS NOT THEIR INTENTION, and the incorrect install was DONE ON PURPOSE. If you call lack of planning and correct install purposeful then go ahead and hire these folks. I had a professional expert review the job and was told it was done incorrectly. I offered to involve my expert but have not heard further from the owner. BUYER BEWARE! As to the sales person I guess the owner gives him credit for our communications that WERE INITIATED BY ME NOT THE SALES PERSON. WEATHER IS AN EXCUSE. THE TILE FOLKS MANAGED TO ARRIVE AND I DROVE AROUND. CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE THE WORK IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT. It would have been better for both of us. The fact that the owner is making a bunch of excuses should tell you a lot about customer service.

From the beginning Flooring Direct made this project easy. They sent Terry out the next day after we called to advise us on our project. He brought samples and helped us decide on the laminate and carpet. He was knowledgeably and helpful. The project was expected to begin in 2 weeks but there was a back order on the laminate. Flooring direct called each week to update us on the arrival and totally kept us informed. The delay only ended up being 2 weeks. The installers were punctual and very professional, they cleaned each day and were very accommodating. They are very skilled at what they do. The tore up all the tile, installed the laminate and carpet all in 4 days. The estimate was 5 days so this was above and beyond.We have a bunch of heavy furniture and they moved it all and were careful to get it all back were it belonged. It is easy for me to recommend this company for your flooring needs. We felt we got a great value and it was a wonderful experience. Our floors are perfect!

Showed up on time. Worked everyday until job was complete. Crew was professional and courteous. Cleaned up after themselves. We are really pleased with the material and the quality of the installation. No complaints and will definately use them for future projects.

From the moment we walked in, til the finish of the installation, they were helpful, friendly and professional. This is a one stop shop for flooring, and we were very happy with their efficiency in the entire process. We will be returning to them for any future flooring needs.

The advertisement that was posted at that time clearly stated that Flooring Direct by Carol Johns, Inc, would do $100.00 worth of work for $20.00 and there were no disclaimers attached. When I contacted the company the representative stated that you must purchase flooring from Flooring Direct by Carol Johns, Inc. , or no work will be performed. I then referred to the terms that the service was purchased under and was told they are aware of this issue and contact Angie List for any other action. Angie's List was aware of this issue for the past 5 months and Angie's List only offered a refund. More than $20.00 worth of work was required to get my initial investment back. : (

Flooring Direct contacted me immediately upon my leaving a message and sent a representative out to our home at a time convenient to me (I was visiting from the city where I now reside). There was no heavy-hitting sales pitch or pressure for me to buy a more expensive carpet. The rep brought numerous samples and explained the characteristics of each. In the end, I chose a grade up from the lowest one because it looked better, had a longer expected lifespan, and happened to be on sale for the same amount as the entry-level carpet. We had to schedule the installation a couple of weeks out, but Flooring Direct was happy to work around the schedule of our house painter. My spouse and I visited Dallas again on the weekend before the installation and went over to the house on the morning of the installation. The installers were already there, on time as promised. They pulled out all the old carpet and padding and put in the new carpet swiftly. They clearly did a better job of putting it in the master bedroom than the previous carpet installers had, too. They vacuumed every inch and left quietly. They left one small roll of carpet for any necessary patch repairs for the next owners to use. The new carpet looked great, and it must have helped do the trick: our home had multiple offers on it in the first 5 days it was offered for sale.

The entire project went very well from start to finish. Within days of calling Flooring Direct, we had a salesman at our house with samples. The salesman was very knowledgable and went through all the details of how the floor would be installed. We ended up having to change our order for the floors in the LR area and our salesman worked hard to find a wood replacement in the correct color and price range. It took about 2 weeks to get the materials to Flooring Direct and then we scheduled a time to have the floors installed. The installers were very professional and they did a super job of lifting up the old floors and installing the new floors. The installers worked for two days from about 8am to 6pm. Also, the installers worked hard to help us match the stain for the shoe molding in the kitchen. The installers left the house very tidy and put the furniture back into the kitchen area. It was definitely a pleasure to work with this company and I am very impressed with work the installers did on our floors. The new floors look beautiful.

Michael the estimator was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly, We asked all kinds of questions and he was very patient. I had previous reviews on Angies about the detailed work they do and I'm glad I went with them. Mario and Jose did a superb job, they were puntcual every day and cleaned up after themselves each day.

Great experience guys were on time finished in a day love the floor.
