STAR APPLIANCE SERVICE

This was a wonderful experience. It is an excellent example of the only kind of company with whom I want to do business.

Came out within an hour after he was called. Found the problem and had it fixed within an hour. Great job.

Dave answered my phone call quickly and set up an appointment within the same day. He showed up on time and started to test the dryer for heating temperature. While waiting for the test result for the dryer, he worked on the dish washer motor to determine the cause of its problem. He checked the appliances in a detailed manner and determined that no parts need to be replaced. He then replaced a leaky pipe below the kitchen sink. Overall Dave did a quick and efficient job for a total of $90. Dave seemed to be very honest and did a good job.

Dave returned my call promptly and scheduled a time to come out. He was timely and polite. He looked at the washer and determined that the brakes were starting to slip, but suggested that I not repair it at this time. He said that unless the noise was a major annoyance, the washer can run for a long time with no repair necessary. The oven, however, has multiple issues. Dave had inquired as the the make of the oven over the phone, and he was ready with an ignition should that be the problem. The ignition was bad, but the true problem was a hole in the burner that blew out the ignition. He ordered the part and offered to rerun the same day to install it. I had a schedule conflict, so he returned the next morning. He was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Very professional.

He was supposed to arrive between 1 and 3pm. He called at 11:30 to see if he could come early. This worked well for me. He advised me of a $45.00 service call. He had the part on his truck and did the entire job in under an hour. He was friendly, punctual and very professional. He asked where I got his name and I said Angie's List. He smiled.

David Messick promptly returned my phone call and scheduled an appointment the same day. He arrived right on time. He is very professional and courteous. We previously called on David to service our refrigerator and were very pleased with the work done. We consider his prices to be very competitive.

Dave was a man of his word and came at the time, even though it was Tuesday. He gave me a fair assessment of the problem. He chose the least serious the problem could be and had to go and pick up a thermometer. He came early the next day and installed it. He answered all of my questions and told me to give it a couple of days, and if it did not work, the bad news was I would need to replace the refrigerator because it was the condenser that was out. Unfortunately, it did not work. He gave me a refund less the initial cost of coming out and part of the cost of the part. He actually offered me more of a refund, but because he had been so reliable and honest I insisted in him keeping more of the initial cost.

On time, punctual, efficient, fair price.

My refrigerator went out on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Sears had done my repair work before but they were rude and made an appointment for Monday. On Wednesday I remembered Angie's List and found Star Appliance Service and called. Dave came right out and replaced a relay. Had the fridge running in about 30 minutes and certainly made our Thanksgiving a lot more pleasant.

Dave called to schedule and arrived on time. After diagnosing the problems with both appliances he needed to order parts and let me know that it could take a few days. I was quite surprised when he called later that afternoon and said that he had been able to locate the parts locally and wanted to go ahead and come back to install them. A wind storm had knocked out our electricity in the course of the day, but he came anyway and repaired both appliances by flashlight! I would definitely recommend his company and appreciate his promptness and professionalism.

It went very well. Good appliance side manner. Upon reflection, I was a bit surprised at the price of the part, however.

Dave responded quickly, was very nice, and did the work on the same day. Combine that with a fair price, and what more can a person expect? I'd definitely use him again.

I would recommend this company. We set a time. He called me at work 30 minutes ahead of time so that I could be at home, so I didnt have to take off too long. Fixed the dryer in good time. Was very polite and explained the problem before he fixed it.

I called these people based on reports I had read on Angie's List. They turned out to be everything they were said to be. The repairman called to schedule the appointment and gave me a window of 8:30 AM-9:30 AM on Wednesday. He called me at 8:30 AM on Wednesday and told me he was on his way. The repair took about 45 minutes. He replaced both water valves, reset the icemaker and together we replaced the interior water filter on the refrigerator. He was very courteous and explained everything to me. He told me he would come back out and adjust the icemaker again if it wasn't producing ice.

I highly recommend him and will continue to recommend him to any neighbor, friend or relative. The price was very fair for the work done. He stated it would take 6 hours for the refrigerator to cool, so I can't say the ultimate outcome, but it is already cooling, and I anticipate the repair to be as good as the rest of the experience.

When we called David around 10 a.m., he said he would be here between 1 and 3 p.m. He arrived at about 2:45. He was very polite, diagnosed the problem, and took his time explaining without being rude or demeaning. His price was less than we anticipated. We were surprised though, that he doesn't take credit cards. We would absolutely use him in the future.

I walked into my kitchen on the Saturday morning following Thanksgiving and found a puddle of water under a non-cooling, defrosting refrigerator/freezer. I immediately consulted my Angie's List website for a reference for an appliance repair company. Needless to say, I discovered that it was, understandably, a holiday weekend for appliance repair companies. That is, until I dialed the number for Star Appliance Service. Mr. Messick answered the phone and I explained my refrigerator problem. He said he could be out within the hour, so I asked him to do so. He arrived as he said he would. He quickly and efficiently examined the refrigerator and told me what he determined the problem to be. We agreed on the repair costs and he immediately proceeded to install a new relay kit. The refrigerator began working perfectly and continues to do so. This company provided excellent service in every way and I recommend Star Appliance Service with no reservation whatsoever.

Dave is very prompt, and he is very careful to correctly diagnose the problem. He made a second visit, when I explained the intermittent water supply disruption, and only charged $15 for the part, and nothing for the repeat visit or installation of the new filter and connections. I would absolutely use him again for any large appliance problems.

I felt Star Appliance was very honest with their work on our refrigerator. The gentlemen that came out to my home found the problem in about twenty seconds. He took the time to go to the hardware store and fix the wall socket all at no extra charge. I have used this company before.

AMAZING! DAVE HAD TO REORDER THE PART THREE TIMES BEFORE THE CORRECT ONE WAS SHIPPED. HE CAME BY AND INSTALLED IT AND CHARGED ONLY FOR THE PART (THIS WAS A FOLLOW-ON TO ANOTHER REPAIR JOB DONE THE PREVIOUS MONTH.).

CALLED AND ASKED IF HE COULD COME EARLY. DID AN EXCELLENT JOB.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE. DAVE SEEMED TO HAVE A MUCH BETTER GRASP OF HOW THE OVEN ACTUALLY WORKED THAN THE ''AUTHORIZED'' PERSON. IN ADDITION, HIS SERVICE WAS PROMPT, PLEASANT, AND REASONABLY PRICED.

HE ARRIVED WITHIN AN HOUR OR SO OF MY CALL, WAS VERY POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. HE SHOWED ME THE EXACT PROBLEM AND ALSO CHECKED OUT THE PLUG WHICH HE SUGGESTED NEEDED SOME WORK ALSO.

I SPOKE TO DAVE YESTERDAY, AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR TODAY. HE SHOWED UP EXACTLY ON TIME, AND DID A THOROUGH, NEAT JOB. I FELT THAT HIS PRICES WERE VERY FAIR, AND AM REALLY PLEASED TO HAVE ALL THIS TAKEN CARE OF.

THE PERSON, WHO ATTENDED TO ME ON THE PHONE, ASKED SEVERAL QUESTIONS, ASKING ME TO ELABORATE ON THE SPECIFIC PROBLEMS, DATE OF PURCHASE, AND THE POSSIBILITY OF WARRANTIES STILL BEING IN EFFECT. THROUGH HIS QUESTIONS, I WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY MAY, IN FACT, COVER THE REPAIRS. HE RECOMMENDED THAT, RATHER THAN HIS DOING THE REPAIRS, I CALL MAYTAG FACTORY SERVICE SINCE WARRANTY WAS LIKELY TO BE INVOLVED AND THE REPAIRS MAY BE DONE FREE OF CHARGE. HE GAVE THE COMPLETE IMPRESSION OF HONESTY AND CONCERN FOR RECOMMENDING THE BEST SOLUTION, EVEN IF IT MEANT NOT DOING THE REPAIRS HIMSELF. I WILL DEFINITELY CALL HIM AGAIN, FOR APPLIANCE REPAIR, IN THE FUTURE.
