Guardian Chimney Sweep

The experience went pretty well, but I was not impressed by their leaving the lint on the curb. Later on, I discovered that I can purchase the same cleaning system for $23 and do this job myself. So that is what I will do in the future. This is, I would guess, a good company, but I really expected a more thorough cleaning job than what they did.

The gentleman who came was early, which was fine, and very courteous and professional. However, I felt that the actual dryer vent cleaning was a total rip off. It took him 2 minutes. I thought they were going to do something a little more complicated than sticking something into the vent and pulling stuff out. Obviously I could have done that myself. But I chalked it up to being in a vulnerable place when I ordered the "Big Deal" on this. (They now offer it for $10 more as a big deal! The regular price is over $100!) What really irritated me about the experience, the man came in and said he didn't like the plastic vent Icover had on the outside and I should get a metal one. That's fine. My vent cover was torn and crummy. When I went outside to look at it after he left - he had actually ripped it off the vent, left the cover flap laying on a windowseill and left my vent wide open to the bugs and birds. He should have left it for me to replace. So, in conclusion, you can do your own dryer vent cleaning for free. Just because you don't like a person's dryer vent cover doesn't give you the right to rip it off and leave the vet open.

It went well. Prompt service, no problems found on the roof, and also helped us straighten out a gutter drain that had gotten out of place. Quite satisfied.

Billy, the owner, arrived on time to perform the work. He got the dryer vent rerouted and up to code from the utility room through the attic to the outside of the house. Billy was also good about cleaning up after himself.

Showed up on time, inspected chimney, and gave estimated. Accepted estimate and preformed work. Covered floor with tarp and repaired bricks in firebox. Cleaned damper and repaired mortar seat. Vacuumed fireplace and painted firebox. Cleaned up workspace and completed job. Took almost 3 hours total time.

The technician arrived at the time I was quoted (actually he was a little early). He had to go into my attic and clean my vent. He was very polite and courteous, and didn't take very long at all. He also gave me a quote on how much it would be to fix my dryer vent so that it vented outside the house rather than my attic.

I received a follow-up call from a very pleasant, professional scheduler the following day and set the appointment. We were quite pleased with the responsiveness and efficiency of this company. We were also please to have the low price. However, when our painters removed the gutters the next week to do a major paint job, we discovered that the leaves had been removed from the gutters, but there was at least 1 inch of silt/dirt left in the bottom of the gutters. This didn't meet our expectations of "cleaning out the gutters".

Mr. Little was polite, on time and thoroughly professional. Extremely nice gentleman who knew his stuff and understands how to deal with customers. We will definitely be calling on his services in the future, and recommend him to all our friends and neighbors.

I purchased the Daily Deal to have Guardian clean my dryer duct. After looking at the other services they provided, I also requested quotes for cleaning the air ducts, the exhaust duct for our kitchen range hood, and chimney cleaning. I found the rates to be reasonable for all these and requested all those services. They were able to schedule an appointment that same week with an arrival between 1 and 2 ... the technician showed up promptly at 1. He took care of all the work promptly and efficiently. High points: The kitchen exhaust was really clogged with a bird's nest and other debris and didn't pull air no matter how high the fan was on. After he was done, it pulled air like a champ. I had requested an estimate for this service from another provider, and they wouldn't quote without coming onsite to see if the duct ran straight or had bends in it. Guardian quoted the price on the phone without question. As part of cleaning the chimney, he inspected the gas fireplace and made sure it was working properly and showed me how to use it (we had yet to run ... this is Houston after all). This point is especially great: he inspected and cleaned all the air vents and when checking things out, he saw that the ducts were clean and didn't recommend cleaning them at this time. This saved me about $200. I wouldn't hesitate using Guardian again.

Great job. I feel like I got a lot for my money. The guys made me very comfortable upon arrival. They were friendly and thorough. I bought a "Big Deal" from Angie's List and there were add ons but the small print detailed the upcharges accurately so I did not have any problem with that. The only negative was that they showed up 30 minutes late. Houston traffic was to blame so how mad can you be. They made up for it.

He did a great job cleaning the gutters at a highly reasonable price. I used an Angie's List big deal. He made sure all of the leaves came out and then he swept cleaned everything.

Call for an appt on friday, had service scheduled and completed by 1030 am the next day (sat) no mess and peace of mind!

The technician, Steven, was very professional and arrived not only on time, but early, and was extremely pleasant. My complaint is this: I don't feel he really did much to clean our chimney. We have lived in our house for almost 15 years, and NEVER had the chimney swept. When Steven came, he told me it wasn't really that dirty and there wasn't much he had to clean. I watched him clean the bottom portion, where our gas logs were but I never really saw him use the extended brush to clean the upper part of our chimney at all. He was only at my house for 15 minutes or so. It should take longer than that, even for a "minor" cleaning. Not what I expected at all! While it's true that we haven't used our fireplace as often as some people might, I find it hard to believe ther was no debris/dirt/minor obstructions after all these years! I sort of feel that the "deal" wasn't such a good deal after all! I certainly expect more time to be spent at my home when I pay for a service like this. Not sure I would use them again. I sort of feel that this was a rip off.

The entire process was great! He was prompt, professional and did a wonderful job cleaned up after he was done. I would highly suggest him and will use him again in the future.

Overall did good job but left hand prints on walls in washer/dryer closet, did not move completely dryer back into it's place.

They came and did a free inspection of both. The nice man that came out (I don't recall his name) said my air ducts were fine and didn't need to be cleaned for another 1-2 years and gave me an estimate on how much it would be were I to get it done and then told me that my dryer vent definately needed to be cleaned. He honored the $85 big deal that I had gotten through Angie's List, even though it was past the date of the Big Deal, so that was very nice. He showed up on time and did a efficient and clean job and even put a new cover on the outside dryer vent outflow (as the one I had on there was cracked and was letting moisture in) for free. He was very honest and truthful and I felt very comfortable with him. I will DEFINATELY use them again.

They did an excellent job! This was the second time I have used them. I used them because of their rating and reviews on Angie's List. They are professional when they do things, and they have a good work ethic. They are on time. They clean up when they are finished. They are reasonable in their estimates.

I emailed him my availability. He responded quickly. Showed up at the appointed time. Looked at the chimney and told me how to get the smoke to rise up the chimney correctly. After that he cleaned the chimney and was out in less than half an hour. There were no additional charges and he was very professional.

It was very good. He cleaned out the whole chimney area very well. He brought in some things to keep any mess from happening in my living room. He did a thorough job. He showed up on time, friendly, and professional.

Called the service and received a next-day appointment with a 1-hour window! Excellent! The team came on time and was thorough and professional in their work. They presented options for work on our fireplace and chimney. We had them back about 10 days later to do the cap repair. Again arrived on time and completed work as promised. Very good experience. Only very mild issue was that we had to call twice each time to get the service scheduled. Not a problem really. We would use them again.

He was efficient and he quoted me the right price. He also educated me on few things that I didn?t know about. The only issue that I had was that we set up an appointment time and he called me to check before hand. But I didn?t have my phone, so I got message asking to call him back to confirm the appointment. I didn?t confirm in time. So, he never showed up. I had to call them and he came that afternoon. The price was fair.
