Guardian Chimney Sweep

Billy and Dee are very nice. I emailed for a chimney cleaning on July 18th 2012. Received answer back immediately for an appt .of my choosing...they had several ones I could choose from, which was really nice. Billy came out on July 24th, 2012 at the appointed time.Did a great job, really fast and did not leave even one speck of dust. The inspection showed some weather wear on the roof around my chimney...made another appt., to have that repaired. Needless to say Guardian Chimney Sweep will be cleaning my chimney every year!!! Thanks Billy!!!

I really enjoyed my experience with Guardian. Scheduling the appointment was easy & with good customer service. The tech was very friendly, helpful and professional. He arrived on time, did a good job, explained what he was doing and what he found -- and went the extra mile by writing down the correct sizing for air return filters and pointed out areas with our A/C ducting in the attic where we may be losing air & may want an A/C company to patch. I would definitely use this company again.

I bought a coupon for gutter cleaning & roof inspection. I emailed for an appointment and received a prompt response. We set up a time that was convenient for me. The serviceman called the day of the appointment, showed up promptly, cleaned the gutters, removed any waste, inspected the roof and even removed a wasp nest! He left a receipt with a detailed description of the work performed and even texted me to let me know that he was finished. Good experience overall.

Got an angie's list coupon for gutter cleaning for $99 which includes roof inspection. When I called and informed them that we have a 2 story home, they added $50 right away. My home does not have gutters in the back, just the front, so whatever, guy shows up and informs us that all he will do is clean the gutter. No inspection done, because if he did, he would have found some issues with the vent pipes which another company did after. Also, they when another company showed up to check my roof, they indicated that the upper gutters were not totally cleaned, there were leaves and other stuff that they indicated was there at least for 6 months. What a waste, plus they dump all the leaves in a garbage bag and put the garbage bag on my backyard.

Emailed for information, response time on questions we excellent. Scheduled appointment, arrived on time was very friendly and professional. Explained in detail problems and recommendation. Performed services and will call again.

We called on a Saturday, which their hours specify that they are open Saturday. Never received a call back. We called back on Monday and set up an appointment for 3:00. Told the receptionist that my daughter would have to be home as I am handicapped, but that she wouldn't be home from work until 2. An appointment was set up for Today around 3 PM. At 12:00 they called and asked if I was home as he was on his way. I again explained that my daughter had to be here but wouldn't be home until 2. He seemed rather upset about having to wait and while wasn't rude he wasn't polite either. We then set the appointment up for 3 PM again. I had also requested for him to contact us when he was on the way, and his answer was "well I am already on the way and will have to go home for a while." At 3:30 we called to find out when he would be here, he stated that he was running late and when I asked how late he stated, "Well, I am across town and it may be at least an hour before I can get there." While I respect their time and schedules, I believe that the service needs to respect the clients time schedule. We all live busy and complicated lives and a little respect on both sides is important. If the company I am trying to hire cant even get to me when scheduled, I certainly wont have them perform any work.

He was WONDERFUL! He could not have been any nicer, any cleaner, any more efficient or on time. He did the gutters and also went above and beyond for an extra service that I asked of him. He cleaned up all of the debris off the ground from the gutters and left nothing behind. He chatted with me afterwards and had a Coke and reassured me that my chimney was also in good shape. He was an angel sent straight from heaven! He even used his bare hands to clean out the gutters! His wife answers the phone and she was just as nice as could be. He was just magnificent!

I contacted Guardian to set up an appointment and spoke to the owner's wife on July 18, 2012. She is a very pleasant and polite lady who was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable with the company right from the start. She scheduled an appointment no more than 48 hours away with the service person, who actually turned out to be her husband, the owner of the company. Thus I found out that this is a family owned and operated business. The appointment was scheduled for July 20, 2012, between 9 and 10 AM, and Billy, the owner, showed up right on time during that hour. He worked outside for about an hour, completely cleaning the fouled gutters and downspouts. One downspout was so badly clogged that he had to take it apart to clean it - he put it back together again with no problem. Finally, all downspouts were tested for free flow to make sure that they worked well. He also inspected the roof, nailing the loose flashing back around the chimney at no extra charge! He wrote a report concerning some other minor damage he found to the shingles, but there were absolutely no pressure tactics used to try to get me to approve any extra work. The bill was for exactly the amount I had been quoted, with no hidden charges or other extra money. I wrote a personal check, which was gladly accepted. Billy was very polite, and extremely competent with all the work that needed to be done. When he was done I went out to inspect the house and grounds, and found that all the leaves and debris that he had cleaned out had been cleaned up, leaving no mess on the walkways or the lawn. This is a great company! I am extremely satisfied with the work that was done, and I would hire them again in a heartbeat. They know what they're doing, they are reputable, no high pressure tactics, and the price was right - really, really right! What else is there to say? Guardian has it all!

The service was excellent and they wereextremely easy to work with. Very pleased.

Communication with provider was courteous and efficient. Arrived punctually and work was performed efficiently and fast. After wirk and during conversation regarding air duct cleaning and they checked and said there was no need for it, they also checked that air ducts had no problems.b An estimate was also requested for blown insulation and work awarded to this company. We were very happy and satisfied with their work and recommend them highly.

These people are very nice. The lady in the office was very professional, and they came to the house promptly. They cleaned everything and cleaned up after themselves nicely. I asked about the dryer vent and they cleaned it without extra charge. The price seemed a little high, but I didn't research duct cleaning very much, so this may be the market value. They did work hard and I'm happy with the results. I recommend them.

I am going to use them again on an regular basis to make sure my dyers vents stay clean and safe. They were prompt, polite and professional!

The sheetrock repair was ok. but the brown caulk around the exterior windows was bad. I hired another company to take it off. It was uneven, with caulk wiped on the wood frames of all windows. There was not a straight line anywhere. I was shocked when I saw the work done. This is still there as the other company said they couldn't get it off. When they repaired the fire bricks, hammering them back into place in the rear of the fireplace, as the bricks had pulled forward, they caused the fireplace brick facing to bow on the right side. I would never call this company for anything again.

I got a special on Angie's List. The coupon was just for the gutter cleaning. I didn't know that they do chimney too but when he pulled up, his truck said gutter cleaning, chimney sweep and some other things. I said I have to have the chimney cleaned because it hasn't been cleaned in years so I added that. The work was excellent. I couldn't believe how efficient, how neat and how professional they were. They put down drop clothes around everything and there was not a speck of dirt anywhere when they got done. There were no problems with gutters at all. I went out there and watched them do it. I was very satisfied with the way they did it. I know they did it all and I know they did it all completely. There was absolutely no mess of any kind around my house when they got done. I would use them again anytime I needed that kind of work done. I would recommend them. I have already recommended them to several of my neighbors.

They were wonderful!!! As per the terms of their coupon, the services should have actually cost us an additional $40 but they didn't charge us for the detached garage. They sealed two nails above the garage and fixed a lead pipe where squirrels had been chewing and they also sealed the gutter near the garage. The person who answered the phone was nice and helpful, too!

Have just moved home and had some unfortunate experiences regarding service contractors. However my faith has been restored by Billy who did just what he said he would!

I had recently purchased my home in the summer of 2011 and noticed, while looking from the ground, an abundance of pine needles in the gutters. About that time, I saw Guardian Chimney Sweep as the Angie's List Big Deal for gutter cleaning. I paid the $99 deal price plus $40 for two stories and another $40 for a steep roof. The guys came out, performed the service, and left. I checked their work after they left and saw the pine needles were gone. I had that service performed in August. In March, 2012, the pine needles were back in the gutters and I decided to clean the gutters myself this time. I climbed up my ladder and was shocked to discover that the gutters had covers installed by the previous home owner. The guards are low profile and not visible from the ground. They are designed for leaf litter to sit on top of the guard and be blown off by the wind. I simply brushed off the pine needles and my gutters were "clean". Guardian Chimney Sweep charged me $180 to do the same thing. I contend that brushing pine needles off of the gutter is a lot different job than actually cleaning the gutter. I take full responsibility for not knowing my gutters had guards installed. However, I am appalled that the Guardian Chimney Sweep workers never said a word about it. They just took my money and were on their way I expect to be treated fairly by service providers with high ratings on Angies List. In this case, I was not treated fairly.

They called ahead and said they were on their way, showed up on time, but, I looked at the cold air intake on the one furnace after they left, and don't believe they looked at it at all. It was completely dirty as all get out and a mess. I don't know if they forgot it, missed it, or just wanted to get out in a hurry. I had to clean it out myself with my own vacuum cleaner. I give them lower ratings and want use them again in the future. I chose them because they had a great rating on Angie's List. I had specifically asked them about the air intake while they were there, they said you have to get it on the backside, and I discovered later, there is no way to get it on the backside.

Was getting excess lint on dryer screen. Technician arrived right on time, went on roof and cleaned the vent, then cleaned the hose connecting the dryer to the vent. He also cleaned the area where the dryer sits, which hadn't been done in seven years.

We had our chimney inspected by another vendor who told us the fireplace was not safe to use and we needed over $3000 in repairs. We asked this Guardian chimney service to come out for a second opinion and to clean the fireplace. This company came out on time. They did clean the fireplace and inspect some. But they told us that the fireplace was safe to use, and that no repairs were needed. I was pleased that they at least cleaned the fireplace, but puzzled that their report was so vastly different from the previous vendor. The fireplace had not been cleaned or repaired in at least 8 years and it is in an older home so I thought some repair may be warranted. I felt the cleaning went well, but thought Guardian was weak on the inspection. We ended up using a third chimney service, who said some repairs were needed, but was more reasonable about the cost of the repairs than the first vendor.

My basic understanding was that my registers would be cleaned and the ducts would be vacuumed. The technician used a fairly large machine to vacuum the ducts that was somewhat difficult to maneuver through the house, especially upstairs. This was mainly a problem resulting from clutter on our part. I would say that he did a good job of vacuuming the ducts, however his cleaning of the registers could have been better. His cleanup after finishing was not satisfactory. Although he used dropcloths to catch debris coming out of the vents, some of it still fell on the floor in a few instances which I had to vacuum up after he left. He cleaned my registers on the front porch and I had to pick up a couple of paper towel pieces as well as sweeping some debris off the porch. The technician was a very pleasant individual and I have no doubt that he would have cleaned up better had I pointed out the need, but I don't think that's something I should have to do. I would consider using this company again, but I would most likely try another company next time just to compare price and results.
