Ellis Air Conditioning and Heating

It was through the yearly maintenance agreement. They do the fall and spring checkup of each system and they clean them. They gave me a $10 off coupon for each property. They have been on time and done everything they said they would do. They have been easy to reach. The pricing is reasonable.

Frank was on time. He was so professional. I could tell he knew exactly what he was doing. He checked all the equipment thoroughly, pronounced everything to be in good working order and left. This is a really dependable company and I will certainly call them again. Also, their charge for the service was definitely in line - we were surprised at how reasonable they were.

Justin did the work. He was on time, professional, and personable. He made sure that the service was thorough and complete. He installed and re-wired a part that would make the system more efficiently and last longer.

Went well. What can you say about servicing a gas heater? They were prompt and efficient.

I am very happy with the work done by Ellis and will continue to use them in the future. Their employees are very knowledgeable and professional and are always on time.

The overall service was excellent. The company arrived within a day of my calling for service, and they arrived promptly. Had I asked, I'm sure they would have arrived at my home the same day I called to make an appointment for service. They were clean and professional.

We change our own filters regularly so they did not have to do that. However, if they do, it has to be standard size because they do not carry non-standard sizes, like our 18x18x1 filter. I don't mind this because, like I said, we change our own filters, but I wanted to put it here so that people have that in mind. |Also, they call before they come so that you know they are on their way. And the second time they called to let us know they would be able to come earlier, which we agreed to.

They were used in the construction of our home and they have been great on service. We have an annual maintenance program with them. We have 3 air conditioning systems. The price is reasonable. We like their staff. They are courteous and efficient. They are flexible with scheduling.

By far the best experience ever in regards to major home expense. The team at Ellis were professional, courteous and took time to not only listen but respond to the needs expressed. Not only did they follow up with a phone call to check my satisfaction when I explained we were still not experiencing the success we hoped for they returned at no charge to adjust dampers and re route air flow. I will never use another AC/Heating Co, period. If you expect quality, honesty and service for your investment. Ellis is the team.

This was our first experience with Ellis Air-conditioning. Our cooling went out on 5/21, and contacted Ellis on 5/22. They came out on 5/23 and diagnosed a leak in the coil of the air-handler and said it needed to be replaced.. They removed the old coil and replaced it with a new one on 5/29/2013. This was a long hot week for us, waiting for the repair. This is a long and messy job, but they cleaned everything up pretty well. The guys seemed to know what they were doing and acted professional enough for us. Unfortunately, they connected the overflow pipes (which handle excessive moisture in the unit) incorrectly, and the diameter of the pipes was too small. Water accumulated in the drain pan beneath the unit and overflowed in the attic, and we had some leaking through our ceiling via our ceiling lighting. During all of June and most of July we noticed alot of water draining out of the overflow pipes outside the house. When I called their office, someone there said that this was normal and not to worry. By mid-to-late July we had leaking through ceiling light fixtures and called them to check the air-handler, as the drain pan beneath was constantly filling up, even after we would empty it. A service call from Ellis was made on July 30, 2013, and the first 2 guys did not know what to do, so they sent another service man out the same day. He was definitely professional and diagnosed the incorrect pipe diameter and incorrect pipe connections. Two guys returned to correct everything, and all is working well since then. We liked all the workmen who came out, but obviously not all of them were professionally trained. When we have future air-conditioning troubles, we will probably call a different company, but because Elllis service people were courteous and clean and eventually did the work, it's possible we might call them again. I should add that the replacement part was under warranty(bought from another AC company), so all of our cost -- $1100. -- was completely labor.

Had an issue with AC not cooling well. Have used Ellis A/C before, and had a service contract with them. Determined that the unit-a 20 year old Ruud-was worn out and was not going to last the rest of the summer. Replaced the outside unit and the condenser, built a new plenum to replace a very hashed-up one and connected everything to the duct work. System worked fine but noticed less air in rear of house than before. Service tech came out on a Saturday to set the dampers and discovered one had not been put in. Scheduled a service call to install the missing damper. Besides missing a pretty obvious piece, I thought the crew they sent were very professional. Pricewise, if I could have waited until fall it'd been cheaper but with 100+ degree temperatures the next few weeks it was no longer an option.

Everything went fine with them. The new AC unit is doing well thus far. They are very professional and punctual. There are no complaints I can think of and I am pretty picky. We have used them for many years.

They worked quickly each time installing the units. The access to the attic is pretty tight but they quickly installed the three units. They redid the return air and redistributed the air to each area of the house to improve the heating and cooling on long runs. The installed all new Carrier automatic thermostats and they work great. So many nice things have been said about Ellis Air and, so far, we have found every instance to be professional, friendly and timely. For this installation, I can find not one negative to say about Ellis Air at this point. We will turn our service on the units over to them and remove HVAC from our home warranty contract.

Well. They are thorough and professional. We used them several years earlier to replace our attic unit.

We had gotten a one-year maintenance contract for half off through Groupon. The technician came in to inspect the A/C unit (approx. 16 years old). He told us that the plenum was "built wrong"-it leaked air and was too long so it was inefficient. The compressor outside was functioning properly. The system was at least 16 years old, and the air leaks in the plenum could be fixed, as well as cleaning the coils. But since we'd probably be replacing the unit in the next year or two, it wasn't worth spending the money on something that would be torn out and replaced with the new unit. Better to get an estimate on a new unit and save the money. The technician was professional, and arrived on time. I think he was trying to do the right thing by us, but I also know they're trying to get us to invest in a new unit. I am planning on contacting Ellis-as well as others-in the fall when most companies have systems on sale. I also plan on having Ellis come out in the fall to check the furnace as part of the contract. Would I have gotten a contract if I hadn't gotten such a great deal? Maybe not, but it's a good idea.

Looked on Angies list and due to the high rating of this company, we gave them a call on 7/2/10 to schedule an appointment. They came out that afternoon and spent an hour or so diagnosing the problem. Because they did not have the part, they had to order one and because of it being 4th of July weekend said they would get the part on 7-6 or 7-7 and give us a call to replace. Asked them the cost of the part and was told they would have to call me back when they got to the office and let me know how much the part would be. They Charged us a service call fee for that day. Later that afternoon received a call letting us know what the part would cost. They called on 7-7 as promised and scheduled a time to come out. Showed up to put on part, but discovered they had brought the wrong part with them. Promised they would be back out within a few hours. Sure enough, within an hour or so they were back out with the correct part. Part was put in within 30 minutes. Final bill was given to us and to our surprise, because they had charged a service call for the first day they came out, they did not charge us any additional for labor, only cost of the part. Was a wonderful experience and the total cost for everything was several hundred dollars less than we had expected. YEAH!!!

We have two units and He(Stephen) evaluated both and suggested Yearly Maintenance Program. Also he left estimates on Insulation needs, duct cleansing and installing a "Duct tent". He stated one of our units will need replacement soon.

Fine except I'm looking for a company that thoroughly cleans my unit, including the fan. This company doesn't do that. Also, I get really tired of every company doing a selling job on a new unit. I didn't ask for a salesman, I asked for repair service. And this company wasn't any better or worse about that than any other. I will say they were flexible with me when I needed to change the time of the service. I just have higher service expectations from an A/C company than most provide. The one that I used for many, many years went out of business when the owners passed away. But that company provided excellent service and did a very thorough job that apparently just doesn't exist anymore.

I had just purchased a HUD home and was told that the air conditioning unit appeared to be on the newer side, and even with the thermostat missing, the inspector claimed that he had been able to rig it to start and that cold air was blowing. He must have been at the wrong house. Ellis Air responded immediately to my call, and the repairman arrived exactly on time. He quickly found that someone's weedeater had sliced through any exposed wires, and after repairing that, as well as installing my new thermostat, the 25 year old unit was totally out of freon. Ellis Air filled the freon and told me that should hold through the rest of the Texas summer; if it became too warm, it may be leaking too much freon and he said he could certainly add more. Then he gave me an estimate for completely replacing the unit, should that become necessary. It's been 2 months now with 100+ degree temps, and I'm happy as a clam and the house couldn't be more comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend Ellis Air. They're prompt, appear to be very honest and above-board and didn't try to sell me anything extra or unnecessary, knowing that having just bought my first home, money was beyond tight.

Control board was replaced. I was not very happy on the price as I could find the control board for half the cost as was charged but I had too much going on to replace it on my own and they provided a 2 year warranty.

Ellis Air Conditioning is very informative, professional, and on time. They did exactly what I asked them to do. The company even gave me more information than what I needed, but it was great.

Very well. I called Ellis about 9 a.m. I was told somebody would call by 1 p.m. Dickie got here at 10 a.m. Took him about 30 minutes to perform the work. Am very satisfied with Ellis. Will call them again later in the spring.

They don't hire subcontractors. Their guys are good people. You definitely get your moneys worth with this company.

Went great! Company provided a two hour window, at the time I made appointment and also followed up on the day-of notifying me, when they dispatched the tech. This was great, because it narrowed my window. Tech was prompt and courteous. Explained some things I can do annually to maintain unit, cleaned a drain, and filled up coolant.
