FOG GONE

Our goal was to have the project completed prior to a holiday party we were having at the house. Unfortunately, the specialty glass we ordered was out of stock and we had to wait until after New Years to complete the install. Jim came out to do the job and we were very happy with the result. After seeing the result, I asked him to give me a bid on replacing all the glass in our windows for the whole house. We've had numerous compliments on how great our entryway now looks. P.S., we also replaced a hexagonal window that's in our laundry room to obscure our dirty laundry from passers by...

I wish I could post pictures on Angie's list for others to see the transformation. We were considering replacing windows in the home we purchased 2 years ago. Most of the windows were foggy and had the grids that made each window look like it had several small panes (from the 90's). It was going to cost between $30, 000 and $40, 000. The handyman I use suggested that I look into replacing the glass only in my windows. I have had a few foggy glass panels replaced in  another house and was not impressed with that company. I looked on Angie's List to see if there might be other options. I called and emailed Jim Sweeny with Fog Gone. He and his helper came out to measure and give me a quote. I was impressed with how professional and detailed he was. I decided to have the work done. It took him and his helper 4 days to replace all the glass, I have some very large, high windows. He took back any glass panels that had the tiniest of flaws in them. If he noticed a flaw in the glass after it was installed he took it out and installed a different one. He was extremely courteous and very clean. The windows are so clean and clear that it looks like there is not a window there. They look beautiful and without the grids the lines are more clean and modern . I am so happy with this contractor. I can't say enough good things. There is also a 10 year warranty on the work that was done.

All went great.  Mr Sweeney came when agreed and measured all windows and gave a quote, which I agreed on the spot.  He then called in about 10 days to make appointment to install.  Very professional, thorough, and pleasant!

I can't get anyone to return my phone calls or my emails???? I am wondering if he is still in business???

Not only did we save money going this route, but Jim did a fantastic job. He's very meticulous and professional. He was very responsive from beginning to end and got the job done quickly yet with care and attention to detail. He did such a great job our neighbor hired him to come out the very next day and replace a section of broken glass from one of their windows.

Spectacular! I visited Mr. Sweeny's website and contacted him via email, including approximate measurements and a couple of attached digital photos of the window. He contacted me within 24 hours and made an appointment to come to take accurate measurements for the window glass on the following Monday. He ordered the glass on Monday, and picked up and completed the replacement on Tuesday. Amazing! The window looks like new and I have no idea why I didn't call him sooner.
Mr. Sweeny was prompt in communications and arrival, professional in manner, meticulous, and quick. I highly recommend his services.

There are two fogged windows [identified by inspection] when we purchased the house last month. I contacted a few places but only Jim showed up on-time for estimate with a very courtesy manner. Since this house has hardwood floor throughout, Jim offered to take off his shoes while most contractors just walked in with their shoes. This earned a very high browny point from me. He identified one additional fogged window during estimate and he was right. His initial estimate was slightly higher than others. Now, I value people walk the walk and talk the talk. Since Jim is a one-man shop who does the measuring, estimate and the actual installation, I really want to work with him. In the end, we came to a price that we both can agree on.
A week later the glasses came [other companies quoted me 2-3 weeks of waiting time]. In the day of installation, Jim was on-time and ready to work. He again offered to take off his shoes but since he needed to come in and out of the house frequently, I said don't worry about it. Not once did he take the break. I can see Jim take his pride when he installed the windows. When Jim finished the job, he cleaned the windows inside out even though it was drizzling outside. After that, he cleaned up the floor. The whole replacement process took about 1.5 hours and the glasses carry a 10 yrs warranty.
To sum up, Jim Sweeny is a super friendly and professional shop owner who is willing to work with you for your windows need, and very quick to respond. I am happy that I chose Fog Gone for the service and I can recommend Jim Sweeny without any reservation.

Jim confirmed nine needed to be replaced.Jim is awesome. He replied quickly to the phone call and e-mail. He was on time. He quickly examined and made recommendations explaining everything in detail then provided an estimate. With a simple gentleman's agreement and handshake, he placed the order. I know these things are not generally recommended, but he is good to his word. It's nice to see trust and handshake deals return. He came on time and installed the windows. We loved them so much, we asked him to measure and replace a few others. Once again, just a phone call deal, placed the order, he called and came on time. Windows replaced and the house looks great.
