Mark James was the fellow that came out, seemed very knowledgeable about the system and was able to establish pretty quickly that it was in working order. There were some complications in my home phone wiring running to the alarm (I have Time Warner digtial phone), so we had to postpone to a date when he could get his phone line technician out; that second service run lasted much longer than anticipated because of the crazy wiring in my house. They seemed very knowledgeable and capable and stayed until everything was fixed and in working order. Except for a charge for running the new phone line (which was much less than Time Warner digital phone people would have charged me for a new line) Mark didn't charge me anything else or try to sell me a new system, he just turned on my monitoring and set me up on a contract. Yay! (The $240 I paid included a year of monitoring.)

The service was perfect. They responded quickly, were on time for every visit and explained everything very well. Even with the problem they discovered with my existing system and having to order a new smoke detector, they completed the work with a little more than a week after my first phone call. This is a very honest company who will not try to sell you anything you don't need. They also have the lowest monitoring rates around at $14.95/month (or $16.95/month with smoke detector monitoring) and only have you sign a one-page, six month contract, unlike most companies that charge $25-35/month with a 1-3 year contract.

I thought it has been an okay ordeal over the past five years having Bestek around to protect my family. My alarm has never had any maintenance done, but, I am sure it is fine. They have had to come out when it was accidentally activated a few times here and there. They come out in minute's time and have given me no problems otherwise. They are great. It has been good having them around.
