If every company I worked with had the same customer service as Ernie's I would be very happy. I like that they answer the phone every time I call. I like that they call you when the plumber is on the way. I like that they call you after the plumber leaves (within 5 minutes) and asks you if you are satisfied. Everything went well with this service call. Plumber was very friendly and as our estimate was given he even offered ways that we could check some things on our own to save costs. In the end our bathtub over flow drain ending up being the issue and he was able to fix it quickly. After he left we discovered it was still leaking a little and after I called the to report this they had the plumber back out within an hour. This is great service and in the end our leak is fixed. I will definitely use their services in the future.

I was very pleased with his service. Their office even calls after the service to see how the plumber did.

Under the circumstances (backed up drains), it went great from the moment we called Ernie's and they gave us a time to expect a plumber until the problem was assessed and remedied.

They did a good job although the 2nd man was later than expected due to traffic in the area. However, they apologized for the length of time and did a good job cleaning up after repairing the leak. I was pleased overall with the repair and the cost was the estimate after the leak was located.

No call - didn't go anywhere

Technician arrived on time to connect my new natural gas grill. Technician quickly informed me that the existing line was copper and would need to be replaced per state regulations about natural gas piping. He quoted me $400 for the first three feet of line replaced, and then $150 PER FOOT of remaining line. A whopping $5500 for the 38 feet of line that I needed to have replaced. Called a second plumber for an estimate: $650. Work was completed the next day by the second plumber. I'm sure Ernie's has great technicians who do quality work, but I was able to find another reputable plumbing service to complete the same work at a nearly 90% discount to Ernie's quoted price.

Ernie's scheduled a date to come out and perform the work. Curtis showed up right on time and promptly explained everything he was going to do. He began immediately and only stopped once to go get a part from a home improvement store that he didn't have on him at the time. He finished up and thoroughly explained and demonstrated how the FloodStop Valve worked. He tried using the sticky backing on the FloodStop for mounting but it fell from the wall later that night. I will probably try to install it with screws for a more permanent fix. The other thing was that we did not have an electrical outlet in the heater closet so we had to power the FloodStop box in with an extension cord outside of the closet. It might've been nice if Ernie's furnished some C batteries for the FloodStop for the first time installation but this is minor. All in all, we were very happy with the quality of work and the explanation of what was accomplished. Of course, we recommend Ernie's and will use them again in the future.

They came out and had to dig out the pipe and replaced everything. The people when the build the house apparently cemented the pipe to the foundation and they replaced it as well.They were prompt and considerate. I stood out there off and on all day long. They were meticulous with their work.

I found Ernie's on this site, and called them. The appointment was set for the next day. Plumber arrived, and I got a call with an estimate and was asked to make a second appointment for the work. I had carefully explained on my initial call that time was of the essence and that I didn't need an estimate, I needed the work done. Thankfully the plumber was able to do the work while he was there rather than make another appointment. I got a call later saying the work was done and asking how I would pay. I wanted to give them a credit card over the phone, but they wanted a form filled out. I had no access to fax or a printer at the time, so they made an exception and took my payment by phone, with me filling out the form for them later the same day. The Angie's List page for this company had a coupon for free service call and $25 off any repair. The net price I paid for the repair was just right in line with what I had been told to expect by my inspector and others in the business, so I really didn't save much. The work appears to be done correctly, which is what matters most. If the office has certain needs regarding scheduling and payment that are not up with modern times, that's OK too, if it's explained up front rather than having to do damage control with the plumber on site. The personnel were pleasant and professional, no major complaints.

It was Saturday. What to do! I didn't want to pay "emergency fees" or "weekend rates." Looked on Angie's List for a plumber to call on Monday and noticed that Ernie's Plumbing had high ratings and Saturday hours were available. I called them and was told there was no extra charge for Saturday work...it's a regular work day for them. In 45 minutes, a plumber was here. He spent 15-30 minutes looking at the situation, turning the water on/off at the curb but he couldn't see anything wrong. So he suggested that we don't do anything and if it doesn't dry up or if I need him to come back, just call the office and he would come right back. It did dry up (still a mystery what caused the leak and I hope it doesn't happen again). Here's the miracle--no trip charge, no diagnosis charge. He charged me nothing for his time. When was the last time that happened to you? The goodwill that Ernie's Plumbing engendered by this kind of treatment will serve them well. I've already told six people about this situation and I will tell many others over the coming months. Thanks Greg and thanks Ernie's Plumbing!

Overall, the process was good. They responded with same day service and the process was a success.

Everything was perfect really from the phone call asking for service to the punctuality, professionalism and price. I would definitely use them again for plumbing or a leak.

The repairman arrived quickly and on time. He gave us two estimates depending upon the amount of work that needed to be done. The lower pricing was sufficient. The repairman was well organized, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. There are always concerns when strangers are allowed access to our home, but we felt very comfortable with this repairman. Would definitely use Ernie's Plumbing again should the occasion arise.

Everything went great and I would definitely use them again for any future plumbing repairs. Price was fair and work was performed to a high standard. You can't go wrong with this company, they're so confident in their prices and ability they don't charge a trip charge like EVERYONE seems to do. I really like that aspect because some of those other companies will come out, quote you outrageous price in 15 minutes then leave with a $59 check form you bc you decide not to go with them bc of price. Try Ernie's, you won't be disappointed!

Ticwn was completely awesome. After analyzing the problem he found that there was nothing to be done at this time and charged us nothing. He gave me his card and told us to call him in the future if/ when the problem returned. I found it amazing that they were honest enough not to charge us for services we didn't need.

Man was courteous, pleasant, and respectful and did work efficiently and seemed knowledgeable. He gave us several options and several prices to complete job. So far no more problems so it seems his work was done properly.

Chas showed up on time and promptly found and explained the problem. I had heard water running (I thought in the wall) but had no wet carpets or floors (thank goodness!). When I turned off the water main, the noise went away - at that point I knew whatever the problem was surpassed my limited knowledge of plumbing. Chas took pictures beneath the house in order to help me see and understand the problems with the plumbing. Unfortunately, the copper plumbing had been previously put together with something called "C" flux (which has been found to cause corrosion and has subsequently been banned). The cost was a lot more than I expected, but seems to be in line with what others are charging, so I guess the reality is that plumbers now make really, really good money for the time they spend on their hands and knees in mud under a house. The recommendation is that all the plumbing beneath this very old house be replaced as it is pitted and will only continue to deteriorate from this point. The pipes are not insulated and Chas said that the hot water and cold water pipes were touching each other, which apparently causes further deterioration. I'm honestly not surprised - everything I've had to repair or replace in this old house seems to have problems associated with it from previous inferior work. 4/7/13 UPDATE - I have downgraded my initial review because of some things that have come to light after the initial service call. When speaking with my son, a master plumber who lives in another city, he asked if I had been shown the piece of pipe replaced. I had not, so I called the plumber back and asked for the piece. I was told that he would bring it by between 9AM and 1PM the next day. At 2:30 the next day, I called and said I had not heard from the plumber. Both the person answering the phone and the plumber called me back to apologize and say that they piece of pipe would be delivered to me the following day. The piece delivered to me today is 5 3/4" long and has a single pin-hole in it. I have no arguments that the repair had to be made - a pinhole can leak a lot of water over a period of time and will only get bigger as time goes on. I am just a little taken back that, when you look at the overall picture, it costs approximately $100 an inch for this repair - or if you count the time the plumber was here (a little less than 2 hours), the rate comes to $275.00 an hour. That may be the going rate, but I can't honestly evaluate the price and have no way of judging the quality of work done under the house without crawling under there myself. I will certainly get some more estimates before I agree to the price I was quoted to replace all the plumbing under the house. I still rate Ernie's Plumbing high on Responsiveness, Punctuality (of initial call) and Professionalism, but no longer feel I can speak to the issues of quality and price. I answered "yes" to the question about whether or not I will use this company in the future because there was no choice for "maybe". 4/8/13 One FINAL update. I do have confirmation from more than one source that all the plumbing under my house needs to be replaced, so I feel very comfortable saying that Ernie's Plumbing and Chas were right on with their diagnosis. There is some disagreement as to whether the problem is from soil conditions (pipes were in bare ground and not insulated) or whether it was the "C" flux - either way, it all has to go. As to the price, I was told " To repair a leak under a home on the weekend he was not all that overpriced." Only problem is, this was NOT a weekend call, when I know prices are usually higher. Have upgraded Quality to an "A" as the repair was made correctly.

I've been using Ernie's Plumbing Service Inc for about five years. Every time I have a problem I call them and I've been very pleased with their work. They are honest and they have one particular plumber I have come out to my house. I tell them my address and they remember what they did the last time - specially when I can't! They said well if you want the same thing done, tell us and we'll know. They ask me if I want the same person and I say yes or no, and it is very stress-free. I have a fairly old house with the original plumbing from 70 years ago. So it has cracks in it. I get roots in there, so they come and they cut out the roots and clear out the piping so I don't have to get it totally replaced.

My service was very good. Due to the service I requested being after a weekend, the provider noted that they could come out that afternoon. In addition, I told him that I had one of their coupons from Angie's list, and he made note of it. They gave me a four hour window and told me that they would call in advance. They called as noted, and the plumber was there as promised. Kevin was professional and told me right away what the cost would be ($175 less the $25 coupon I had). He started work promptly and unclogged the drain quickly. I was very pleased with their service and would use them again for this type of issue.

Once we had passed the 60 minute threshold... we called Ernie's and a woman told us she would check and call us back. The answer "the Plumber's job took longer than expected" - so why call to say he was on his way??? The expected 5pm arrival turned into 7:30-8pm approximately and by then it was DARK outside! How was he supposed to do his work and get our drain's cleared out? My husband showed the Plumber the Clean-out pipe on the outside, the Plumber said there was a 2nd one he needed to get to... We didn't know where the 2nd Clean-out was - and the Plumber couldn't find it either! Of course he couldn't, it was dark out! Not the 5-6pm arrival we expected. Don't expect plumber to arrive at time Ernie's calls to tell you 'plumber on his way'. Do ASK from where? We called the office back again and were told "there is heavy traffic, he's delayed" - well of course it's now "Drive-Time" Do not expect the Plumber to be able to locate your 2nd clean out in the dark, he couldn't. Then he suggested he would go on the roof to get to another Clean-out. If the Plumber can not find your Clean-outs there might be something wrong in Denmark (that old adage). So he told us he would have to go on the roof to find another Clean-out and then said the charges would be about $350 or $375. We have had this problem before and have had a national service company perform this same service for around $200 - as well as a local Plumber in our area also cleaned out the pipes for approximately $225-250. But I had just joined Angie's list and was eager to try a service supplier from their recommended service companies. Sadly we were not happy with the whole situation. He left - there was no charge to look at the job. We called a local Plumber who showed up first thing in the morning and cleared up the problem for $225 and completed his work in about 30-45 minutes. We did not receive any follow-up from Ernie's and I am sad to say - being honest - we would probably not call them again.

Plumber did a great job and kept the cost to the estimate price. I will use again
