Im doing a remodel and needed a couple drains moved on a pier and beam house. Ernies was prompt to answer the phone and was able to come out within a couple hours. The tech came out and was nice, went back to his van for a few minutes and came back with a ridiculous estimate to do the work. If they would just be honest and say they dont want to do the work rather than price it so high it upsets the customer, things would be a lot better. Anyways, it is about 6-8 hours of work. Not sure where they get the $3500 estimate (after the friendly 10% discount). All the floors are out of the house and I even said they could cut up the subfloor to prevent from crawling under the house and I would fix the subfloor. Needless to say, I didnt choose to have the work done by them. Im having another local company do the work for $500. Not sure how a plumber could charge $600/hour for labor. Even at $90/hr, this isnt a full work week for one of their plumbers.

We made an appointment to get into the upstairs condo on Tuesday. We are looking forward to Bill finding this problem and correcting it so we can finish our work on the 1st floor condo.

I called Ernie's on Tuesday morning hoping to schedule a plumber as soon as I could. They had Pete out to the house in about an hour. Pete reviewed the damage, gave me a full explanation of my options, and a price to get the work done. Pete then called for an extra person to help him. They completed the entire job in a day. They were very courteous, professional and did an excellent job. Since this was a 30+ year old house, Pete put an access panel on the wall behind the refridgerator where they tied the new line in. This way, if there is ever a problem with another water line to the junction, it will be very quick to find and fix the issue. I could not be happier with the service provided.

I told him that his price was exorbitant. He told me that he's had jobs like these where it took 5+ hours because of tree roots. I pointed out that the nearest tree was over 30 feet away and downhill....which changed nothing. So I thanked him for his time, apologized for making him drive out to my house, and told him that I would fix my own leak.... UPDATE: I accepted Ernie's Plumbing's offer to complete the repair job (I had already dug down to expose the pipe and the leak, but could not complete the repair due to a lack of parts & darkness) for no charge. The worker came out, replaced the faulty section of pipe, and filled the hole back in. It looked like he did a quality job. I would now happily recommend Ernie's Plumbing. After finding out about my negative experience with one of their workers, they went above and beyond to make sure that my problem was taken care of in an incredibly generous way.

The serviceman was prompt, efficient and personable. Not only did he repair my faucet, he talked me through each step he was doing so that I would understand how all my faucets worked. I was very please with his service and the education!

I called about a week in advance to request service on a day and time of day (0800) when I could conveniently be home. Ernie's made it clear that they would arrive to survey the job and provide an estimate for the work. No mention was made of actually doing the job. The dispatcher said that their man would call about half an hour before arriving. The man called ahead of time and arrived as promised at 0800. He spent about 20 minutes surveying the site. He explained which brand of heater he would buy and what other things he would have to do. He spent another 15 minutes writing up an estimate. The estimate included the Angie's list coupon discounts. I asked when they could do the work, if I accepted their estimate. Their man was prepared to proceed forthwith. I accepted. The new installation was completed by about 1230. He also replaced the water shut-off valves for my washing machine. This was an add-on job. Their man hauled off the old heater at no extra charge, solving the disposal problem. Ernie's obtained a permit from the city (of Mesquite) to perform the work. The inspector green tagged the job yesterday (16 days later when I could be at home). I purposely waited for the inspection before reporting here.

Ernie's was able to stop by the afternoon that my water heater started leaking. They checked things out, answered a number of questions that I had, and gave me various options on replacement. I agreed on the work and they were to come back the following morning. This morning the provider showed up as scheduled, received a couple of courtesy calls prior letting me know when to expect someone at the house. The work was performed as promised, price was what was quoted, and work performed was excellent. The service technician was very professional in all aspects of the job. I would recommend this company to anyone needing any type of plumbing work.

I called Ernie's and explained that I had a water heater that was not heating and that I would like someone to come out to replace the heating elements. I told the lady who took the call the water heater was installed in 2005 or 2006 and that the heating elements had been replaced several times before. She told me a plumber could come out the next day. When the plumber arrived he checked the date on the water heater (2005) and immediately told me he could do no work on it. He then went into a sales pitch. I told him all I wanted him to do was just remove the old heating elements. I even had the new ones available to install. He told me the company has a policy of not doing any repair work on units older than 6 years so he could not help me. He would, however, be glad to remove the unit if I purchased a new one. Our family was without hot water for two additional days because Ernie's chose not to tell me on the phone that they would not even attempt any repair work on a water heater as old as mine. I have no problem with the fact that Ernie's has that policy (for all I know that may be an industry standard), but I certainly do have a problem with them not telling me about the policy when I made clear on my original call both the age of the water heater and that I was expecting repair work. Clearly they did not want to tell me they would not do repair work just so they could get their foot in the door for a sales pitch. I would not trust this company and certainly would not buy an expensive water heater from them.

I asked if I could call them later as I thought this was to high a bid. Found someone for (ACE) 1/3 cheaper. The individual was nice and polite. He gave me a discount for Angie's list but still too high. They were here on time and got a phone call. Great but I am retired and don't have the extra cash, so got to go with low bid.

The good thing is that there wasn't a leak in the slab. The bad news is there was a leak somewhere between the house and the shed. I didn't know where one of the cut offs was located but my husband said he knew and would find it when he got home. Gary told me to find the other cut off and narrow down the search area, which saved us a lot of time and money since the lines were buried under a deck. After we narrowed down the search area, my husband dug up a frost proof yard faucet and found a crack at the bottom of it. I really appreciate Gary showing me how to track that down and thankful it wasn't worse.

Neil was very nice he was able to complete the job in two visit. Because we had to order a part. Everything is working fine. If I should have a plumbing issue I would call Ernie Plumbing in the future.

My house was built in 1984 and still had the original plumbing under the sinks. As a result, there was a small leak after the initial install on one faucet. However, Curtis then replaced all the old plumbing that was causing the leak. He even noticed a crack in the porcelain on one of the new faucet handles and took it back to Home Depot and had them switch it out. He was very prompt, professional and polite. I would highly recommend him and would request him again if I need any further plumbing work in the future.

Work was performed as explained, and the results were outstanding. Matt (#499) was fantastic. He was professional, courteous, and listened to me talk his ear off while he worked!! He never complained, and he actually went above and beyond to track down a particular fitting that was required. Had he not done that, we would have been without water to the house overnight at the least and possibly longer. He came out on a Sunday and got us squared away. Excellent plumber, and a real nice guy. Hang on to that one!!! Thanks again.

Archie arrived right on time and was very friendly. He gave us the cost estimate of the work we wanted to be completed and, once we approved it, got right to work. The work was done well, and there was no mess left behind. I highly recommend this plumbing company.

I called Ernie's and they came out later that same day. The office called early in the possible window to tell me the estimator was on the way. Greg arrived on time to size up the job and noticed that the tank still might be in warranty. He suggested I call the 800 number on the tank to check. He waited as I did so and, to my surprise, it was still in warranty! Greg could have quoted me a job anyway but he ended up saving me quite a bit. I appreciate his honesty and the time he took in coming out to the house. I will have no problem calling Ernie's in the future.

They came out a couple of weeks ago. They did a main line repair for me outside of my house. They were very good. They were professional and responsive. The plumber was very nice and worked they hard. He was very thorough and he fixed our problem. I thought they were very fair and honest. He was a really hard worker.

They did a good work. Once they showed up, they were quick. The scheduled appointment time was 3-5 PM and they did end up showing up until 7 or 8 PM.

We've been living with the master bathroom sink clogging for several years due to the A/C drain line backing up. Each year, we have to blow compressed air through the line and use a plumbing 'snake' to alleviate the problem, but it never fixes all the way. Enough was enough, so we got on Angie's list to research plumbers in our area and decided on Ernie's plumbing in large part because of the owner's responses to each and every review. Our plumber, Michael #410, came out during our time frame. He was professional and courteous. I really appreciated that he put the shoe covers on before entering the house each time. Above all else, he fixed our problem! Used a motorized 'snake' to properly clear the line of any obstruction and got the p-trap reinstalled, ensuring no leaks through several tests of filling the sink with hot water and letting it drain. Like many other reviews, I thought the price was too high, even after discounts/coupons. Of course, I don't know what it takes to run a plumbing business, nor do I have access to the same equipment to do this type of work myself, so I understand I do not have a context for the cost of sending a plumber out to a customer's house, etc. That being said, money being no object, I would use Ernie's Plumbing again, and request that they send Michael out to do the work. Lastly, Michael did a great job explaining some preventative maintenance tips to help mitigate this type of issue. This type of customer service goes a long way.

The quality of the work was excellent, materials used were good quality. The plumber was professional, worked quickly, had the right materials and cleaned all areas after work was completed. My only complaint was that he broke a copper pipe that had been improperly welded by someone else, probably years ago, while he was working to replace the outdoor faucet. Because the break occurred behind a brick wall, he ended up having to grind out 6 or 7 bricks. I would not have chosen to replace the faucet if I had known it would be such an expensive ordeal. Although he repaired the copper pipe connection and replaced the faucet properly, I was left with a hole in the exterior wall of my house. He had no advice or references to help repair the bricks. I ended up hiring a mason to repair that damage, at the cost of $250. Fortunately, the plumber had removed the bricks with care and they could be re-used, which saved me about $100 on the brick repair. All of the plumbers work was satisfactory, I was just disappointed by the additional cost, and not being given an opportunity to choose leaving the outdoor faucet as is once it was known how extensive the repair would be. This total adventure ended up being nearly $1,000. I don't think I could afford to use this plumber in the future.

Called the office at 10:00 AM and I was told a plumber would call me between 1:00 and 4:00. He called at 3:55. I had the toilet removed and everything cleaned up ready to go. Repairman showed up at 4:30 and gave me an estimate of $425 but also gave me a 15% discount, no reason given for the discount . I authorized the work and asked him in detail what it was he was going to do. I told him the floor was not level and the bowl would need shims to keep if from rocking when you sat on it. He tightened the bolts and pushed on the bowl and said it was secure and no longer needed shims because it was now level. He said I could trust him. When he went to his truck to get some caulking I pulled up on the front of the bowl and it had at least a 1/4" inch rock up and down. I pointed it out to him and he them went back to the truck and got one shim, he said once again that it no longer rocked, but I when I checked it was still rocking. He went back to his truck got another shim after he installed that one it did the trick it no longer rocked. Between him going back to his truck about five times to get tools and parts it took a total of 45 minutes from start to finish, including the estimate. That means he earned about $500 dollars and hour. The two parts he used were a $7 flange and $4.00 wax seal. Doctors doing surgery on humans don't even make that kind of money. After he left I started to smell sewage gas right away but I waited to see if it would go away. Finally I call him back and He said He could caulk about the bowl to stop the smell or he could pull the commode and put a double wax seal. I told him I wanted the wax seal replaced. Then he reseated the commode and we went through the exact same thing on the rocking of the commode. He said I should trust him he got it so it wasn't rocking but when I asked to check it out it was rocking big time. I don't have a lot of faith in BELIEVING in what he said after going through that twice with him in one week. After Ernie reviewed my comments he asked Randy to contact me and he agreed that the original estimate was intended to a lot more work, the plumber should have reduced the total cost to $250 dollars. He also offered to send another plumber out to check everything out at no cost. I appreciate knowing that my experience was not ignored by management. Because of their quick response and sincere concern about their company's reputation and quality of work I will try them again.

I called Ernie's years before, at this point I can't even remember exactly what it was for, what I do remember is it ended up being a no charge visit. The guy basically gave me some advice and I ended up making the repair myself. This is what prompted me to call Ernie's again this time. I'm pretty handy, but plumbing is one of my weaker skills, I'd say. So I had a leaking hose bib (frost free type), leaking behind the brick when hose turned on, no leak when shut off, so it's been this way for too long and I decided I needed to get it fixed. Problem is I have no knowledge of how the connection is made and can't see it because it's between the brick and the inside wall. I knew it was going to be expensive, but was not prepared for the bill. I'll say the entire visit was 30 min and that's being generous. Even if the part was $100.00, that's $161.00 for 10 min of labor and show up charge. Wow!!! I don't mind paying a fair price or even a little extra for a job well done. These kind of rates are exactly why I'm a doit yourselfer as much as possible.
