Repairs were done the same day with no delays

We had been having an issue with our kitchen faucet and master bathroom toilet since the day after the City of Mansfield came out to repair a water main break in our front yard. Considering we had zero plumbing issues until that day, it seemed obvious that there was a correlation. However, since the problem was occurring inside the water meter, the city wouldn't cover repairs. My wife called Ernie's Plumbing, and Jerry came out for the same day (at 5 pm). He found that the toilet needed a new fill valve and that the rubber tubing inside the hose for the pull-out faucet in the kitchen sink had somehow become collapsed, perhaps as a result of the changes in water pressure experienced on that fateful day. Either way, Jerry provided great service and fixed our problems very quickly at an extremely fair price.

I was impressed when I called Ernie's that they said they would have someone out within about an hour. They called me and confirmed when the plumber was on his way. Once he arrived, I showed him what I needed done and he gave me a quote. I thought it was very high ($350 to replace the toilet), so I declined to have the work done at that time. I'm sure that Ernie's does good work based on all of the positive reviews. I would call them back if I had an urgent plumbing issue where cost was not as much of a factor due to their rapid response time, but I passed for this job.

The customer service person on the phone was very friendly and very helpful. I imagine I was a bit lucky that day, but they sent out a plumber 30 minutes after I called. The plumber was very friendly and quick. He told me the cost up-front and honored that cost. Actually, I had the Angie's List coupon, but he said I could get an even better discount as a first time customer. Even better! Their AL coupon says the service call is free, but the tech told me their service calls are always free. Good to know. The service carried a warranty, in case the sink had trouble again soon. I was very happy with Ernie's and will call them next time I need a plumber.

To do the repair was more then we wanted to pay ($1800 to $2100) per day.

We moved in to a new house and found out soon after hooking up our washing machine that the water pressure for the cold water was practically non existent. I have never had to call a plumber, so I didn't really know what to expect. I called Ernie's Plumbing due to the high ratings on Angie's List. I saw the $25 off coupon and decided to roll the dice (I have heard some real plumbing horror stories from my family). From the initial phone call, to having the job completed, it took less than 2 hours! Now that's what I call excellent service! Don was awesome and took time to explain everything to me. I will definitely use their services again the next time I have a plumbing issue. Thanks to Angie's List and a huge thanks to Ernie's Plumbing. A+++++!!!!

We experienced a water leak from a softener in the garage. We just moved into a new home and still had boxes and furniture in the garage. Water had leaked into the house and we needed help fast. Bryan from Ernie's Plumbing was great. He bypassed the softener which was still under warrantee and while he was at our home repaired several toilet handles. He was prompt, knowledgable, courteous, and quick to complete the job---a real professional. We were new to the area and found this company on Angie's List. We will definitely call Ernie's again.

I just bought a house that's 16 years old with 4 toilets. My brother and I replaced the inner compartments of the toilets. When we moved the water lines, some snapped and others would not shut the water off properly. We had to get a plumber immediately to fix the problem. I don't have internet in the house so I just got on the Angie's List app on my phone and looked up a plumber in Arlington. Their name was at the top and highly rated. So I called them. They were very nice on the phone and a plumber was at my door within the hour. They gave me an estimate before the work was performed and they did an excellent job. My toilets run smoothly and look almost new. I'm very happy with their service and I will be using them again with other projects in my house.

I got home from work Friday night to discover my water heater was leaking and needed to be replaced. Called Ernie's that night and scheduled for the next day. Archie and Trey came out first thing Saturday morning and performed an estimate. They were friendly, professional, and openly answered any questions I had. I liked that they explained the process, steps, and how long it would take - it was great that they set expectations accordingly. As the job went on, they explained current and next steps. Upon completion Archie performed a quick recap of the work they performed, and they were on their way. Archie and Trey were excellent. I would definitely do business with them again.

They were prompt, competent, friendly (he and my husband talked cars.)

The pressure testing took him about an hour and I feel the charges were excessive, especially since the water company came out and determined that there is indeed a leak on my side. Essentially I received no benefit from a very large bill. 10/7/2013 - A representative of Ernie's called to tell me that the plumber who performed the services above had charged too much and would be crediting me for about 1/2 of the original bill. This is reasonable and I appreciate their recognition of an error and subsequent correction.

Michael arrived promptly and quoted the job before starting. I had explained when I initially called that I needed this done immediately since the previous plumber no-showed. The initial quote seemed high, but since they had so many "glowing" reviews, I assumed the job was much more involved than a lay person would know. And, at this point, was I to do? The tenants home needed to be completed. The original hot water heater was about two years old, but Michael stated it needed to be replaced and said it could fail soon, noting that moving one can often lead to future problems. He recommended it be replaced at that time to ensure a trouble-free and warranted future. When we balked, he said he'd sell it to us at "cost" for approx. $280. His helper arrived a couple of hours after he did, and the work took approx. 8 hours, less their lunch hour. The bill was $4100.00! To put it in perspective, $3800.00 ($4100.- $280 cost for water heater) for seven hours with one plumber and six hours with his helper was $542.88 per hour! I relied on their reputation for "Honest, reliable service, reasonable rates" and fully expected the final cost would be adjusted to reflect appropriate hourly charges for plumbers and their helpers in this market. Even if they had charged me $200/hour for the two of them, the cost would have only been $1400., a far cry from $4100! I would never trust them again! Michael may "seem" professional, but just because he has a license and works for a well-marketed company, doesn't mean he - or anyone else in the company, for that matter, won't cheat you. And a company that allows this to happen, can't be trusted, either. I won't use them ever again for all these reasons.

The service was excelleant and quick. I'v had this problem before and tempoarry fixed it myself. Ernie's plumbing did a great job on unclogging my two sinks in my master bedroom and was done within 20 minutes or so. The fact that he came over and gave me a free estimate and was able to start right away was awesome. I differently recommend Ernie's Plumbing to anyone who wants the job done fast and right.

There was a significant amount of confusion in the office the day of the appointment, as several different girls called at different times with different information as to what time Jeff (the service technician) would be at my house. After we got that straightened out, Jeff arrived and all was well. I will gladly call them again with any of my plumbing needs.

I noticed a leak in the front of my home. Thinking it was plumbing related, I called Ernies. The plumber was courteous and arrived within the time allotment. I showed him the wet area and asked whether or not it could be the sewage line. He didn't think it could be, more likely a sprinkler line. I waited for his evaluation. I was stunned to find that his estimate included installing a sewage line clean out trap so he could use a camera to find the very thing he said it wasn't...a sewer line....to a total of $1300! Since he didn't think a sewer leak could be the issue, he couldn't guarantee that after the work was complete that it wouldn't be something else entirely! I declined the work and dug out the damp area myself. I found that a condensation line was dripping, causing the moisture! If I hadn't listened to my better judgement, I would have been out of a rather large sum of money. UPDATE: After my initial review, I spoke with Randy, the GM, he suggested sending another plumber to survey my issue. Jon came out on Saturday and he was courteous, honest, and efficient. The issue was quickly resolved at no charge. I changed my overall review from D to A.

The job was supposed to take 3 days. It took 10 days to complete. The plumber who started the job got sick and was not able to complete the job. They sent several different plumbers to complete the work and this caused a lot of unnecessary confusion. Every other day a new plumber showed up and had to try to figure out where the last person left off. The worked performed failed the city inspection twice!!!! Poor communication between plumbers and shoddy work caused this problem. The plumbers were late every day. The dispatched would call and say they were in route but never arrived on time. The price was good but not worth all the headaches. I would not recommend them to a friend.

It went great. Everything was done with professionalism and quality and was reasonable as well.

Provider arrived on time was very professional and knowledgable. He identified the problem quickly and fixed the issue without incident. Price was reasonable and included free check of our hot water heater (no issues identified!). I will use Ernie's for future plumbing needs.

We were a little overwhelmed with the job. We contacted Ernie's Plumbing Service Inc and they were great! They were on time, in fact they were early. He was informative and helpful. The plumber even showed husband some tips with understanding the problem. We found out that tree roots were causing these plumbing. We were so impressed that the plumber would take the time to answer all our questions and help us out.

The price was by far better than other quotes and I have no complaints about the plumbing work and tub installation. The surround installation left a bit to be desired. The surround pieces were glued to the wall, as they should have been,but the pieces of the surround were not properly lined up with each other. The house is a bit old (1972) and the walls are not perfectly square but a bit more care could have better lined up the pieces. The section on the back wall is a good half inch lower than the side walls. Unfortunately, the surround was taped to the wall along the top edge to allow the glue to adhere so I did not notice the problem until later.

Located leak in yard, dug it up and repaired the line. Then filled it back in. Bryan was very professional and courteous. Appreciated that they were able to come out same day called and provided an estimate, then still come back out same day when called again to do work.

Woke up Sunday morning to a wet carpet in the bedroom. Called Ernie's number and they were able to get a technician out with in a few hours. They called me routinely through out the morning to let me know the status of his availability. the technician explained what he was able to do and what would be involved. He also took time to verify that I fully understood that the wall repair would be my responsibility. He was here for hours finding and repairing the leak. I was expecting a huge bill since this was a Sunday and they were extremely reasonable. On top of that, he asked how i had heard about them and when I told him Angie's List, he immediately took off their Angie's List discount. Great company and I would recommend them to everyone and anyone that needed plumbing work.

When we purchased our home we got concessions for needed repairs. The upstairs toilet showed signs of leaking. Found Ernie's on Angie's List and hired them to do the toilet repair. The wax ring was a mess, and in fact the drain pipe was too deep under the floor, with the thickness of the tile, to install properly. It had leaked through the garage ceiling. The plumber put a double wax ring and completely re-seated the toilet and re-secured it with new bolts to hold it tight. It isn't moving. Then I found a non-functional water spigot on the front of the house, that the inspector had missed. Ernie sent one of his guys out and he said he could repair the faucet but that he'd have to dig out the brick and its mortar, replace the line, but then I'd need to hire a brick mason to replace the brick as they were not able to do that. Or, he could, for less money (about $530 instead of $550, approx), not only put in a new line with a special non-freeze "pipe" - a special type of freeze-burst-resistant tubing, a new quarter turn faucet AND a new-style water cutoff valve. The concern with the old valve is that one turn to shut it off, and it might never come back on and have to be replaced anyway. It all made sense and even though it really was more than I wanted to spend, it seemed to be the right thing to do, to go ahead and get them both done. So, I've spent some money with Ernie doing things I myself just won't or cannot do - don't mind some light plumbing repairs but I draw the line at the toilet wax ring, and this other thing I'd never ever touch anyway. I felt good both times that I was getting service with integrity and I would recommend Ernie's Plumbing. They are not the cheapest, but when it comes to the plumbing in the house, why settle for 'cheap' on something so important?

The job was done fantastically, very professional. We couldn't have been more pleased. I would highly recommend Terry and would request him again if I need any further plumbing work in the future.
