I really, really liked them. They were great. The leak detection was around $600. Some of it was insurance covered and some of it wasn't. They were very prompt. I was very happy. I've recommended them.

Overall very happy with the work and the gentleman who came out. There was a problem on the scheduling as the scheduler sent out a plumber that was about 45 miles away so he was later than we expected. He was almost 2 hours late, after he explained I was fine. He was very professional on the work he did, gave us a quote and got the job done on the same day.

A relative used Ernie's a year ago after seeing their reviews on Angie's List. She was exceedingly pleased with the work done. When I looked on Angie's List today to see how they were being rated, I almost backed out of calling due to one negative review. However, not really knowing any other plumbers since still being relatively new to the DFW area, I decided to go with my relative's recommendation. And, I am thrilled to say I made the right call. I was told someone would be out today between 2pm and 6pm. I informed the receptionist that I would be home all day. Therefore, I was delighted to receive a call to let me know someone could get to my house around 1:15pm provided that was convenient for me. Shane was the plumber assigned to my plumbing issues. From the moment I opened the door until he left, I can honestly say it was a pleasure having him perform the tasks with such a high degree of professionalism and knowledge. He patiently explained what my plumbing issues were and how he would suggest addressing them. I know he could have easily taken advantage of my plumbing ignorance. However, he did not recommend anything outrageous or something that would break the bank account. He also answered several unrelated plumbing questions that could be potential issues down the road. Hopefully, we won't need the services of another plumber in the near future. However, if we do, we will most definitely call Ernie's and ask for Shane.

Had a little issue rescheduling the appointment but it was solved after a few phone calls. A technician came out and provided me with a free estimate. I'm still within my one year home warranty so I'm going to check with them first to see if the service is covered. If not, I will call Ernie's to come back out and do the work.

They were punctual, upfront with everything and nice. They kept the mess to minimun so they were respectful to my house

They are very good. They did an excellent job and the price was very reasonable. I will call them back when I have other plumbing projects.

The finishing, the trenches dug and concrete poured are very sucken and back porch sinking/pulling away from house. This occurred about 1 year after finished work and they did not come out when I called them the second time. The first time I called they came and dug under house to assure all was ok but did not show concern for porch; they have not come back when I called about 1-2 months ago and I just do not have time nor patience to go thru any more frustrationn

I was very satisfied. He was on time and did a good job. I spent about $250.

I have been using their services for at least ten years. At one point, they completed some extensive plumbing on my older house and even repaired a broken pipe under our house. Once I had an issue with the city where there was a leak at the curb where the main water turn-off is. I called Ernie’s and they come out and determined that the issue was at fault by the city. He ended up coming out several times without any charge and even waited for the city to be there with him so that he could show them how the leak was on them and not on me. I have recommended Ernie’s Plumbing to a neighbor who had a plumbing issue that other plumbers were unable to ever properly fix. Ernie’s was able to fix the problem for her that no other plumber was able to repair. They are great to work with. I will continue to use their services and recommend them to others.

I called on a Tuesday morning, and someone showed up within 45 minutes. The phone operator was helpful and polite, and they called with a confirmation that someone was on the way after getting all of my information. The guy who showed up was polite and professional. It turned out that the problem was a very quick fix, so he didn't charge me anything for the service. I couldn't believe there wasn't even a charge for driving out here! Needless to say, I was very happy and will definitely be using Ernie's again in the future.

I called Ernie's Plumbing and explained to the person who answered exactly what I needed. I had a muddy crawlspace, with nasty water from a grey water leak which had been leaking for a long time. I had had a water remediation company out and they said there wasn't enough water for them to extract with their equipment. So I needed someone to suck out bad water with a vacuum type device and fix the leak.Is this something your company does? The answer, "Yes sir that is what we do!" Great, I gave them credit card info and gave authorization to fix anything they found wrong up to $2000. The next day, they call back and said it was muddy and they did not work in mud and I needed to have a water remediation company remove water. I then was contacted by the "office manager" that she would see what could be done. I was then called by the "general manager" and told "we don't work in mud" I have lost three days by now. At this point I am thinking a "C" grade for lack of communication within the company. Then my renters call and complain that the plumber who came to evaluate the situation went down into the crawlspace with no coveralls or shoe protectors and then tracked the mud throughout the house on the way out. With that Ernie"s grade dropped to a resounding "F".

I just called Earnie's for the third time- not the same problem-I think nothing speaks more than repeat business. My first experience was with a clogged sewer main that caused a horrible mess. Service was prompt and above and beyond. The plumber quickly located and solved the problem and assisted with clean up in the guest bath I could not and did not want to deal with. I called Earnie's again when I needed some updates preparing for an upcoming surgery. Again service was above and beyond. The original price quoted was a bit high but the plumber worked with his boss to meet a competitor's coupon rate I had found on Angie's List. The plumber rebuilt two toilets with updates to push button vs. handle flush, and I needed a hand-held shower faucet diverter installed. The plumber was so nice and friendly. He really listened to my needs. He knew what I was trying to accomplish with the hand held shower and my upcoming surgery. He realized the faucet diverter I had purchased would in fact provide a hand held shower sprayer but he also realized I would still have water coming from the above shower head and that would not work for my situation. He offered to cap off the over head shower and we left it to be reversible for later. He was concerned about aesthetics, he worked hard while here and I could tell he was proud of his work. I just noticed a water trail from my hot water heater creeping across my garage floor. My house turned 5 this year and when I needed a plumber for the third time this year I had no question as to who I was going to call. I know Earnie's will do a great job and as always they are available and there when you need them!

Update: Yes, I did sign the estimate. I'm wrong. (Reference the company's comments below my original review.) I should have sent this guy packing when I saw the amount. My wife was trying to check into the hospital to have her hip replaced, and I had a backed up sink and stopped up water line. Admittedly, I had put an avocado peel down the disposal the night before. I do not deny that I signed the "Free" estimate. Again, I'm wrong, and I'll definitely need to find another plumber. I actually did. The next few days, at my wife's parents', he found a cracked disposal, replaced it with an Insinkerator, and charged me almost $100 dollars less, disposal included, and that includes labor. $290. Royal Flush plumbing. Also, I have sent the VP and GM of Ernie's Plumbing, Inc. an updated letter of concern. Ernie has his full check, and we are even. I will think through in the future-- how serious the issue is, how much I think it should take to fix it, and then sign or not sign. My review stands, because the pricing doesn't fit what Ernie's has done in the past. In the past, Ernie's has charged for a service call for minor issues like this. This doesn't even account for the plumber asserting--after sitting in his truck and discussing my invoice I'm assuming--that the previous Ernie's plumber, who blew out the line by stopping up the hot side of the sink and turning off the hot water at the water heater--did not do the correct procedure, according to this plumber. I'm wondering, then, why the CORRECT procedure wasn't done for free, under some guarantee? I also see on Angie's List-- I wish I had checked--for another company for TWO hours labor for $135 dollars. They consider that half price, which means they need $135 per hour, REGULAR price. If Ernie's guy spent an HOUR, my price would be $135 instead of $378. But Ernie's guy didn't spend an hour, even sitting in the truck on the phone and then driving over my yard. I hope Ernie does check the record of how long the truck was there--and yes it was in my drive and YES he did back over the yard-- because the guy actually worked ten minutes, but spent at least that much or more on the phone after the job--Was he needing an explanation for his estimate? Basically, what he told me was that the previous Ernie's plumber did the job wrong. So why not guaranteed? I also dispute Ernie's comment that "My plumbers are trained to park their vans in the street in such a manner that our customers can see our marked van". Although as I said, my wife was in the hospital on this day, she asserts that B. Stalcup, the previous plumber, "who did the job incorrectly" (according to Terry B.) ALSO parked in my driveway, but he is evidently a better driver. He did NOT run over my yard. The second plumber did THAT after charging me nearly 400 dollars for very little work. I also would like to qualify all of this to say my home has eighty-five year old plumbing. It stops up, it backs up, and we get it fixed. But never at these prices. Not from Ernie's and not from any other plumber I've used. Again, I'm wrong for signing the estimate in a moment of weakness and disorganization from my wife's health issues. However, I could have had another plumber for a lot cheaper, and they wouldn't have ruined my yard. Not a big deal, except it took me four hours to level and put sod back after the truck drove over it. I guess at a conservative $135 per hour, the other plumbing quote, (check Angie's list deals) I need $540 back for MY time repairing THEIR damage. But at Ernie's prices, I need over $3000 back to correct their damages at THEIR prices. No worries. We're even. But my review stands. Beware this company! Policies have evidently changed. I also am explaining my D rating. If you give A for three criteria and F for two, it averages to a C+. The two F's are so flagrant that it should be a "D", but mathematically, C+. Again, don't sign anything. Ask for an estimated amount of time, and figure $135 per hour. If it's going to take less than an hour, and it's going to be more than $150, you have the wrong plumbing company. Charged $378.36! I am now updating this review. The more I think about a charge of nearly four hundred dollars, to do 10 minutes of work, the madder I get. It's on me for accepting this outrageous estimate, but my wife was at the hospital checking in for surgery, the sink was backed up, and I just signed it. I should have known better, just sent him packing. It took about 10 minutes to write the estimate, about that long to clear up the problems--food had clogged up the disposal line and there was debris in the supply line--and then about 10 minutes for him, Terry B.--to write up the charges. He was evidently on the phone with someone to justify the charge, because he was out in the truck writing for a long time. When he came back in, he told me that the plumber--also who worked for Ernie's--had "done it wrong" the last time. It occurs to me later, that if you're admitting your own company did it wrong, should I be charged again? (The last time, the charge was $150.) Obviously, Angie's List needs to evaluate this plumbing service, but really who can you call? The worst thing is that he parked in my driveway and backed over my newly sodded lawn. Left huge tracks and crushed down the sod. Hopefully he hasn't crushed down the double check valve to the sprinkler system. If it leaks, Ernie will be getting a very expensive bill, but he will NOT be doing the plumbing work. That sod took a lot of digging and leveling to get in there just right, and it only took him a second to back right over it.

He did a good job. I had used Ernie's before when my outside drain? plugged up. The magnet's on my fridge for all future plumbing needs!

It went well. Price was very reasonable and the plumber was very good and knowledgeable. I will use them again in the future when needed. They have same day service. They follow up after the appointment to make sure everything went well. Quality company.

Other than being expensive, but that's because it was like a last minute thing, the guys that came were amazing. They knew their stuff. They were very mannerly. They were just amazing. I couldn't say more. They were able to come out the last minute and their staff was super. They are on my list to use again.

Went really well. Fred came out and looked at the issue. Gave me a quote of how much it would cost to get fixed and gave me a time estimate and how long the water would need to be turned off. The job was done quickly (around 15 minutes) and Fred explained how the pipe froze in the first place. He also showed me the new faucet and tips & tricks for preventing this in the future. Had a great experience and will definitely use Ernie's in the future.

I had a hot water heater go out. My warranty company called Ernie's to come fix it. Granted, this was not an easy job. The heater was located in the second story attic of a two story home. I had to put a floor down over the rafters so that they could get the old 50 gal heater out and the new one in. Ernie wanted to charge me $1,825.00 for the job. I couldn't believe it. I had previously checked out a better improved water heater at home depot for $398.00. I called a local plumber, they took the old one out, installed the new one for $630.00. I would definitely shop around before using this company.

They came out and looked over my situation (yard box was flooded) and determined that it was a leak in the sprinkler system. They were honest and told me how much it would cost for them to fix ($700+ since it required digging up some of the yard). When I discussed trying to do the job myself to save money, they recommended that I call a sprinkler company because they would most likely be able to do the same job for half the price, given that it is an underground sprinkler leak and not necessarily a plumbing leak. The gentleman was very helpful and informative. Since they provide free estimates, all the assessment, advice, and information was free! If I have a true plumbing issue in the future I will certainly call them again!

I had requested an estimate to totally replace the Cast Iron drain lines for a house that I was attempting to purchase. Their receptionist scheduled it for the following day between 9 am and 10 am. I heard that he did not show up till after 11:30. I can?t say for sure because I never got a call telling me when he was going to go out as I had requested. I had information I needed to discuss with him, but he never got it. He went out and I guess visually inspected the house and apparently determined that he would need a Video Inspection so he decided to go back the next day. I got a call from the receptionist the next day telling me he would be there between 1 and 5 to do the video. I told her that I already had a Video (Which is how I knew I needed a total replacement) and that I could send her a link to the video. She said that they would have to do their own video instead and that it would cost me around $300. I told them to cancel that as I did not want to pay for a second video. If the receptionist hadn't called me to schedule that I would not have even known and would have had to pay the Video fee without having approved it. So, I never got that Free Estimate.

We noticed a pool of water in our dining room on the night of 5/20/2014. We called Ernie's 24-hour number and left a message. They called us back that night and scheduled Matthew for 9 am the next morning. Matthew arrived on time and found the leak through a very methodical process involving pumping air into the pipes while he listened for the sound of leaking air with some kind of plumber's stethoscope. He finally was able to isolate the leak in a wall, quite a ways from where we noticed the pool of water. It turned out when we had some remodeling done a few months ago, the carpenter had driven two finishing nails into a water pipe located in the wall of our pantry. At first he nails sealed the holes they had caused, but over time, as the nails rusted, the puncture holes gradually started leaking. To find the exact point of the leak, he cut into the wall in two places - once from behind a cabinet after taking out a drawer (in other words, where it doesn't show) and once from the lower inside wall of the pantry (again, where it doesn't show). He cut off the punctured pipe at two points - at the top, up in the attice, and at the bottom of the pantry wall where he had cut the hole. He then ran a new pipe from the attic down the inside of the wall and re-connected it at both ends, thus avoiding having to cut a huge hole in the wall. He was very thorough and knowledgeable. I appreciated the fact that he explained what he was doing and kept me apprised of his progress and what his plan was. He didn't randomly start punching holes in the wall or foundation, but instead patiently followed his steps and found the leak without tearing up our home. The overall process did take several hours, but when he was done, from the appearance of our kitchen you would never know we had a leak at all! We would definitely recommend Ernie's to our friends and famliy.
