They never showed up!
Description of Work: Scheduled an appointment with a four hour window. I drove over an hour to get to the house that needed a leak fixed. I waited 4 hours and drove over an hour to get back home. The plumber from Ernie's never showed up!!

You have me slightly confused. Did you have us give you an absolute Free Estimate, accept the estimate, sign for the work to be performed, instruct us to perform the job for you......and THEN inform us that you had received two additional bids that came in less than ours? Please, allow me to explain. We come out to your home and give you an absolute Free Estimate to perform the work and you then either accept our quote or you do not. It's just that simple. If you don't accept our bid then we absolutely do NOT charge you a thing. And yes, prior to beginning any work we might negotiate the price with you however, just depending upon what is in the job for us. However, we absolutely do not "match guarantee" the cheapest bid you can find in town. I would go out of business very quickly attempting to do that. I hope you understand. Respectfully, Ernie.

Description of Work: I had Ernie's provide me a quote on plumbing in a water supply and drain connection to a lavatory area in a shop building. It was about 150 feet to the water meter and about 30 feet to the septic tie-in location. Water supply tubing and drains were already in place through the slab. The rep had to postpone once, but no big deal. What was a big deal was the price. While I was guesstimating $3k to $4k, they came in at about $12k. While we really wanted the convenience of water and sewer out in the shop, it wasn't worth a small fortune. Layland came in with a quote of $3k, and did a great job, was prompt, courteous, and REASONABLE in all aspects.

The information you have put in your post does not reflect what we bid to you on our estimate? So, I am somewhat confused. You mention nothing about the top-out stage and the setting of the fixture stage. All that you mention is the rough-in stage? Regardless, I personally reviewed the job estimate given to you and the $12k quote was a good quote. My company couldn't do it for anything less! If you have found someone to do it for only $3k.....a nine thousand dollar difference??? Well, I sincerely hope that all ends up well for you. Respectfully, Ernie.

Description of Work: Requested an appointment on line and got an immediate response by phone confirming appointment the next day. Next morning got a call from Ernies saying they had a cancelled appt and could come sooner. That was great with me. Greg arrived about a half hour later looked over the situation and gave me two estimates (I had a leaking faucet in bath) and I chose the more expensive one which replaced the taps and handles which made sense since this is an older house. Work was done professionally. Greg took time to explain what he was doing and what to expect. He also installed a new shower head for me. I am very pleased with the work.
