Description of Work: I received an est to "identify the problem" and was told that I would then be given an est to "repair the problem" - why two separate estimates? Identifying problem was more than $400 and repair was an additional $900. My total was almost $1,400 for a leak in the drain behind my dishwasher. I do feel that I overpaid for this repair and do not like having to pay to identify a problem when their material states that they provide free estimates. I probably will not use them again even though the work was performed in a satisfactory manner.

While it is NOT very often that we cannot give an absolute FREE ESTIMATE, it does happen occasionally. The majority of our customers DO get an absolute Free Estimate 95% of the time. We won't give an estimate over the phone due to too many times the caller will minimize over the phone with my call-taker what the actual problem actually entails. I'm NOT saying this is done purposely. And then when I plumber arrives he appears to be the bad guy because the price just escalated. Therefore, we find it more reasonable to just send out plumber to your home and put a visual on your problem so that he can give you a more accurate free estimate. Now, I do have to add that approximately 5% of the time that when my plumber arrives that he does NOT have x-ray vision and will have to give you an absolute FREE ESTIMATE to cut into your wall, or go under your pier-n-beam home or go into your attic. This is NOT free. When it is free is when my plumber can see what the problem is and then give you a quote on what it will cost to repair it. For an example, I am not going to send my plumber up into your hot attic, our underneath your pier-n-beam home where it is muddy due to a hot or cold water leak or worse a sewage leak, or have him cut into your walls, WITHOUT charging you something. We are certainly NOT going to perform any services that require actual work being performed for any amount of time just so we can see what the problem is and then get denied for the estimate. I am certain that 95% of you will understand that. Respectfully, Ernie.

Description of Work: Ernie's is a professional grade plumbing company we have used on two occasions. They were the ONLY ones who could come on a "moments" (same day) notice and were helpful in answering our questions: knowing what we needed to fix and what we could do ourselves. We have our toilet repair and it was expensive, too, so it may be that we are out of touch with plumbing prices. I saw their truck down the street last week so they are busy in our neighborhood. I thought they were great!

Not well at all.
Description of Work: Set an appt between noon and 4:00 pm today and plumber never showed up. By 5:00pm had not received a call indicating there was a delay or explanation for being so late. Very unprofessional and not a good way to get referral or good review.

Description of Work: We were concerned that we might have a slow water leak. Matthew performed a diagnostic air pressure leak test. He was honest enough to tell us that we did not have a water leak. Prior to performing the leak test, he discovered that the gate valve at the water heater did not close properly, and replaced it. He was courteous and professional.

Description of Work: an employee of Ernie's Plumbing came to give an estimate to install a gas line to the kitchen for our range, as we previously only had availability for electric appliances. The employee seemed very knowledgeable about his industry, however, the prices was nearly $2000 more than other plumbers I got quotes from. For this reason, we chose not to use Ernie's, although we certainly would in the future, should the occasion arise.
